  1. THE consortium bidding for control of Hibs believe they can build a team capable of challenging Celtic for the title - but will only attempt a buy-out if they’re backed by supporters.

David Low, a self-confessed Hoops fan who aided Fergus McCann’s takeover at Parkhead, is helping to spearhead a bid for Hibs from a group of potential investors from the UK and the US that includes former Easter Road chairman Malcolm McPherson and Ralph Lynch, son of ex-Celtic Nation owner Frank.

A £3.5million offer for Sir Tom Farmer’s 90 per cent stake in the club’s parent company, HFC Holdings Ltd, has been pieced together by Low and associates, although the financial advisor indicated yesterday he did not “expect any early resolution”.

With Forever Hibernian, the supporters’ group led by former player Paul Kane, also approaching Farmer in a bid to assume at least a 51 per cent majority shareholding for the fans, sources at the club have stressed there is no active attempt to seek a buyer for the

    Leith outfit.

And Low has made it clear that his alliance will walk away from their attempted takeover should they fail to convince supporters of their plans.

He said: “If our offer doesn’t have the support of Hibs fans then it will be withdrawn. In this new environment of a debt-free and financially-level playing field, a football club can only prosper if there is trust and transparency and the board has the support of the fans.

“Fans have never been as important as they are now and if a club is to fulfill its potential there must be a positive relationship among all stakeholders.”

  6. Rangers bid to raise £4m from shares after poor season ticket sales

Rangers have announced they are to press ahead with a proposed share issue which they hope will raise nearly £4m for the club.

The Championship side had previously revealed 43.4 million shares were available to be released to existing shareholders in the event fresh funding was required.

Rangers International Football Club plc announced the move to the London Stock Exchange on Wednesday but warned there was no guarantee shares would be bought up by existing investors.

In their business review in April, Rangers stated they would look to exercise their right to issue shares if sales of season tickets were "materially less than anticipated".

STV understands sales of season tickets currently sitting at just over 20,000, up marginally from the 17,000 which were renewed by existing ti

  7. Went oot last evening to the shop, guy across the street had pressed the traffic lights button. Green man was on and beeping and he was just standing there staring into space. Then noticed the green edge of his hibs top beneath his jacket

  8. Any of the Hungarian teams who qualify will have enough points to be in the top half of the draw.

In Montenegro 2nd & 3rd qualify. The teams sitting there currently would be in the bottom half but 2nd is 1 point behind 1st & 3rd 1 point ahead of 4th. If it switches those teams would go into the top half going on coefficient points.

  9. Been able to weed it down to this list as found the coefficient points:

Still 5 teams to be confirmed, so top 5 may be lopped off but the 2 Hungarian teams may leap frog them but top 3 must be safe as rest of teams San Marino / Montenegro
