Panda Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago For those at the game, did Sandro Schwarz get any sort of reception when he appeared on the big screen? I guess it's hard to get too up or down about his potential appointment. Did well at Mainz and Dynamo Moscow, without any real success though. Has struggled in his next two jobs, but even the fans there haven't given him much grief for it as he never really had the tools to work with. Was having a look at what he played at New York Red Bulls. A 4-4-2/4-2-2-2 was what he came with from his previous clubs, but he played a 4-2-3-1 and a 3-1-4-2 often last season. Would love to have heard his thought on us after the Celtic game. Quote
Bukta Bertie Posted 11 hours ago Report Posted 11 hours ago So that's definitely his assistant manager Volkan Bulut on the left? Before they were both here they're obviously very serious about the job offer. Unless they just fancied an all expenses paid jolly to tropical Aberdeen in late winter. They'll have been pleasantly surprised by the team as they played some lovely football but the atmosphere from the Dons fans was terrible last night although I doubt that would factor into a prospective manager's decision process. What would they care if fans are noisy or not. Quote

The fact they’re not being used effectively by various managers and coaches doesn’t change that fact. As for the criticism of Cormack, absolutely he deserves stick for the football operations under his watch, because they have been nowhere near good enough, but we have won a Scottish Cup so that can’t be discounted either. Off the park, the stuff he’s done has in the main been very good. We didn’t get 17k plus average crowds when we were the best team in Europe ffs. In the most I agree with what he has done off park has been decent, he should just stay there as he cannot run a football club although he tries to say he is not interfering Also, He cannot (but I am sure he will try to) grab the credit for the rise in the average attendances. That is not just down to him Football in general across it's many divisions and leagues has mainly seen a steady increase in attendances over the past few years, thanks mainly to Media TV outlets and Social media platforms. But I am sure the ego of Cormack will be trying to grab some credit for that as well Edited 9 hours ago by Blow.Up.Sheep Quote

He was probably thinking that if Celtic are supposedly best club in Scotland, then this league is going to be a piece of piss. Quote

Ajja Posted 8 hours ago Report Posted 8 hours ago We’ve been generally quite good at keeping things under wraps when it comes to this sort of intel in recent years. I find it curious that in this process we have been quite public about who we are courting. I don’t think it’s a good strategy and is trying to appease the irrational fan base and media who want to know everything all the time and demand it of the club. All it serves is to build up expectation and then makes us look fools when it falls through. Seems logical to conclude that if Schwartz was a guest last night and his assistant was with him and DC talked about him in his interview that he’s being offered the role. Quote

Red Shed, sign for the Dons sessions, singing section, free U12 ST’s in family section, beer at the fitba, better fan displays and engagement - he’s done a fair bit, and even one of those things on its own is more than Milne ever did. I’m absolutely not giving him a free pass, and I totally agree he needs to stay right out of the fitba side as his vision and plan for that side of things has been a car crash - hopefully the appointment of Lutz is acknowledgement of that - but I cannot see a scenario where I’d ever see him as anything but a massive upgrade on the useless arsehole that went before him… Edited 6 hours ago by The.Moog 3 Quote

I'd also add that he's pretty good at assigning credit to Burrows and the rest of the commercial team for a lot of that stuff rather than claiming he did it all himself. Not perfect but better than many other chairmen/owners cutting about football these days. 2 Quote
