From the more experienced like Stevie Clarke, John McGlynn or Michael O'Neill. A current SPL guy such as Robinson, or someone lower down the chain like Scott Brown or Gary Naysmith. I'd argue that any of the above would stand a better chance of success than taking in someone from Norway that knows very little about either our club or about fitba in this country. I can see why people wouldn't be that enthused by Horneland. I think his record is decent, although mainly at one club. I do like his tactics though and think he has the potential to improve on what Thelin did, so I'm on board with it if it's him. But you've just pitched Scott Brown ahead of him, simply because he has more knowledge of Scottish football. Two of the managers occupying the top four in the Premiership at the moment are foreign. The "knows Scottish football" thing is an easy thing that gets thrown about - it's a whole management team these days, and we play each other 4-6 times a season so they get to know the opposition very quickly. 1 Quote
TheDonbytheDee Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago Cheers for that Al. We might not win a lot of trophies. But we do give it a go. I'd also claim that us and other teams would have won more if it wasn't for the blatant cheating we have all witnessed in big games, especially where deadco were concerned. Plenty reasons to be a proud Dandy and can easily claim to be Scotlands third club. If a manager doesn't fancy signing for us, fuck 'em. Their loss. Quote

How much did Jens Berthel Askou know about Scottish football before he pitched up at Motherwell? 1 Quote
brydedon Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago (edited) Hi first time on this chat be gentle. I personally don't think any managers in scotland appeal at the moment ( apart from steve clarke but don't think he would come to us and don't fancy waiting til summer either) so hoping this guy horneland takes the job and hopefully we eventually start playing some exciting football and maybe even start to win games. But whoever gets the job we all need to get behind them and give them a chance SF Edited 12 hours ago by brydedon 7 Quote

There is not one footballing success metric by which Aberdeen FC are not the 3rd club in Scotland. Its why the diets and spoon burners constantly obsess about attendances, its all they have to try and pretend they’re bigger clubs, laughable really. As for the pikeys, they just dream of being us… 2 Quote

As said, pal over the years / decades I have learnt that the best way to be as a dons fan is to lower your expectations. but you ask what are m expectations so ok I will answer that mate. A team on the park that tries their best every fukin week, game after game irrespective who the opposition is. A team on the park that when the final whistle goes after every single fkn game we as fans can be proud of them and say at least they had a fukin go and gave it their all. Sadly over the last umpteen fkn years we can count on one hand the amount of times the above has happened, and I have no idea why that is. But fk me it's not a lost to ask (is it) Quote

It’s a complete shambles to be frank, and beyond embarrassing. Quote
