Match Thread - Sporting v Aberdeen

The games are coming thick and fast right now.

Will this week see the end of our Thursday/Sunday run of games or will we take another step closer to the Holy Grail of Europa League group stage qualification ?

Part of me has the major fear about Thursday's match and think our best and possibly only chance of going through here might be if the opposition chuck it given their Covid infection. The other part of me however thinks that this is typical of when McInnes pulls it out of the hat as he has previous of pulling off results post a capitulation in the match prior to it.

Head says Sporting, heart says Dandies

2-1 them I'm afraid

Please prove me wrong.

  • Can we stop with the personal attacks before this even goes anywhere? I thought we got rid of that a few weeks ago. I really appreciate the chat and banter here, and certainly appreciate differences o

  • I much preferred the old system which was home and away ties, winner takes all, with no seedings. Groups diluted the competitive element, and this dilutes it further. Everyone needs to be guarant

technically they are better but seem to be tiring.. however as long as gash is on the park then we are in trouble

have to say hedges puts in a power of work and looks very sharp

What a save that was

BBC stats saying our possession is only 28%

Personally i struggle to see that.

Thought there were spells where we've had plenty

We can definitely get an equaliser in the 2nd half if we keep it tight at the back.

maybe its last 10 mins ?

Nope, match stats

take that they didnt look tired last ten i would chuck wright on may as well have a go

We got by far the toughest game of the 4 Scottish teams so I’m heartened by the performance, I missed the first 10 minutes so we have played quite well in the 35 I’ve seen

I think if we push them we have a good chance of getting something, They are bound to tire as the match goes on. Hook Mcgeough and get wright on.

Watching that replay, not really sure why the goal is deemed to be partly Taylor's fault

Minus the goal, we haven't been too bad, but we've done fuck all. Their game plan is working perfectly.

Well we have had at least two shots on target so thats rubbish.

Thought you weren't watching it mate ?

We've been okay, nothing more. They're a good team like, but we're going to have to step up and press them for a good 20 minutes in the second to hope to get anything. We reverted to a back five for a lot of that. Think we need to stick to a rigid 4 and perhaps have McGeouch moving left to right in front of them but getting Ferguson and McRorie further forward.

Poor goal, thought we were caught out of position because of the needless losing of the ball by the midfield, but conceding that much possession means that a single mistake was always going to be the killer. Need a lot more from that midfield three second half.

Yep, I'd say it's only partly his fault, but his slowness to react drags Considine in unnecessarily.

We need a Plan B for set pieces. One that doesn't involve climbing on their defenders. We know the referee will blow the whistle at the slightest hint of contact so aiming for Taylor at the back post flanked by 2 defenders probably isn't going to bring much success.

Yep, don't know what hedges is fucking about at. Just shoot.

Reckon the winners will be playing LASK as they are winning 6-0 at the moment
