There were terrible, just a shame we didn't hammer them, but given all the 1-0 wins they've had over us in recent years I'll take that with bells on.

 

Surely we must win on tue, then it is a huge game at the Hunnery.  After that it should only be ours to throw away.

Hearts players face another wage delay

 

Hearts players are unlikely to be paid their monthly salary on Friday as scheduled.

 

Board members told the squad that UBIG, the Lithuanian bank owned by majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov, was still trying to secure the required funds.

 

Players officially complained to the Scottish Premier League in December, following three consecutive and substantial delays in monthly payments.

 

However, the club avoided threatened sanctions from the SPL.

 

Wages arrived late in January, but only by one day, and the league chose not to follow up with a charge of "failing to behave with the utmost good faith to the SPL."

Oh I thought they were owed money from the Wallace sale. Was there not something in January that Hearts were willing to accept £700k and write off the remaining £300k in order to at least get some payment?

The next payment is not due until July though so Rangers don't owe it yet and Hearts certainly can't blame unpaid wages on it (you'd think  )

Manager Paulo Sergio leaves Hearts after rejecting deal

 

Hearts have announced that they have parted company with Paulo Sergio, their Portuguese manager.

 

Sergio, who led Hearts to Scottish Cup success in May, said he could not accept the offer made to him to stay.

 

A statement on Hearts' website said: "The club had been hopeful recent negotiations with Sergio would have a successful conclusion but he has opted not to extend his stay at Tynecastle."

 

First-team coach Gary Locke will remain at the Edinburgh club.

 

Hearts say they have begun to look for a replacement for Sergio, 44, who took over from Jim Jefferies after his sacking in August 2011.

 

One of the main contenders is thought to be another Portuguese manager, Jose Couceiro.

According to Hearts fans at work its a combination of that and him being told he would not be getting any cash to replace players who are leaving.

Let's be honest, no manager worth their salt would manage up here these days.
