Sounds like there were conversations had today about "regionalising" the League cup in time for 2016.  I can see the potential benefits.

We have had group stages in league cup before but they were scrapped because nobody went to them. If they want to revamp the league cup should go back to it being completed by the end of October.

I used to like the league cup when it was group stages to start with. The whole thing done and dusted by Bonfire night. I don't think that this would work now due to European football kicking off so early. Who needs another 6 matches (home and away) tacked on to the fixture list anyway?.

If memory serves correct, back when the league cup first started off, it was split into North and South sections anyway.

I would like to see it all finished before the end of the year though.

Shite idea. Get the fucker done by October like Jute says. Of course to give it some meaning it could do wi a Euro spot by I fear that's long gone now.

Always fancied the idea of the British Cup instead.
