McGhee sets Aberdeen FC 50-goal target

Pittodrie boss’ chart test challenge to players in race for Europe

THE pressure on the Aberdeen FC strikers to finish top of the goalscoring charts is about to increase.

Manager Mark McGhee today claimed Aberdeen FC will have to net at least 50 league goals this season if they are to have any hope of stealing the SPL’s third spot off Hearts.

He is challenging Aberdeen FC’s recognised strikers – Lee Miller, Darren Mackie, Chris Maguire and Tommy Wright – to deliver the bulk of those goals and has come up with a simple way of reminding them of their main task.

McGhee revealed he is planning to post a chart on the dressing room wall at Pittodrie so that strikers, and their team-mates, can see for themselves who is – or isn’t – delivering.

Are we sure that this whole sacking JC thing wasn't a ruse and he has actually just had some serious lipo over the summer?? These episodes of Deja Vous are getting stronger and stronger.

Roughly translated: The very best we can hope for is 4th.  :-\

Yee-ha, we have a new thread for the season. We got 27 out of 30 last season, 50 seems reasonable enough  :o

In fairness, he is letting the rest of the team in on the act this time.

EE in ridiculous headline that doesn't resemble story shocker...

So its ONLY in the SPL games, after the Hamilton game:

Mulgrew 1

Considine 1

Maguire 1

Aluko 1

Total 4

Striker contribution 25%

Feel free to update whenever as I won't remember each week.

I'm sure that headline said strikers earlier...

Not at all. I thought I was going mental.

McGhee: I need goals-a-plenty from you, lads

Mackie, Miller, Wright, Maguire (in unison): How come?

McGhee: Cos that's what we're fuckin paying you for you fuckwits!

Heard a few folk bringing this up as I left the game.....

To hit that target our players need to score 1.3157894736842105263157894736842 goals per game (GPG)

Currently after 4 games and 4 goals they are at 1 GPG

Therefore we are running at a deficit of 0.3157894736842105263157894736842 GPG

i'm entrusting Mackie to get our 0.3157894736842105263157894736842 goal this week.

He was the closest of any of our strikers to score on Monday, so you may be correct

I thought Miller had a header saved off the line?

I thought Miller had a header saved off the line?

His header was dropped you mean? Mackies turn and shot was better :)

No. Miller had a flicked header at the front post in the first half that was cleared at the back post on the line.

Ok, I will trust you as I cant face trying to watch the 'highlights' again

6 in 6 SPL games.

50% of the SPL goals scored in one game.

Pitiful indeed.

I blame Steve Craword- cunt!

This free flowing attacking football is fucking fantastic
