Real Madrid v Al Hilal been a better game than I was expecting. Currently.1-1 with just over 20 minutes to go.

Last game of evening is Pachuca of Mexico v Red Bull Salzburg. Been a decent game being played in front of smallest crowd I have seen so far in this tournament.

Penalty in Inter Miami v Porto game has got to the most ridiculous yet awarded by VAR. Absolutely minimal contact and never a foul.

2 great goals in 9 minutes the second a Messi free kick puts Inter Miami 2-1 up.

Atletico Madrid denied a stonewall penalty by VAR in late game. Getting now that they are just making this up as they go along. Atletico should be 3 or 4 up even without the penalty and got to wonder if that will come back to bite them like it did Porto earlier.

Dutch down to men against Portugal in the UEFA U21 quarter final. Portugal missed a penalty though so still 0-0.

10 man Dutch win 1-0 putting Portugal out.

Watched the second half, the Portuguese were pish. Like watching the Tims against us in the cup, totally toothless.

England 1-0 up on Spain. Had been all Spain and England dodged a bullet when VAR overturned a penalty award as well. England score with first attack.

2-0 England now after howler from Spanish keeper. Think I will be switching to La Liga play off.

Real Madrid down to 10 men after 7 minutes but still 2-0 up on Pachuca at half time.

Good end to the 90 in the Germany v Italy game. Extra time with Italy down to 9 men, equalising with a beauty of a free kick with the last kick.

The bollocks about ending extra time that we hear about very regularly (and will likely happen), is just that. Nine men trying to hold on for thirty minutes is great fun. The tension in the stadium for the fans is second to none (well, maybe penalties). We experienced that in the cup final, and it was a big part of the experience.

Italy were really unlucky not to hold out although German 3rd was a great strike.

Couldn’t believe that was the scoreline. I went to bed just before Italy scored their first. The first half was enough to induce the jet lag.

Atletico Madrid 0-0 against Botafogo at halftime. Atletico currently heading out.

Atletico win 1-0 but not enough to see them progress. PSG win the group beating Seattle 2-0.

U19 Championships, Spain 5-6 Germany. 11 goals, 3 in injury time, 5 in Extra Time. Now that's value for money!

Auckland City get a 1-1 draw with Boca. Fantastic result for the part timers. Boca join Auckland in going out of the tournament.

If it is indeed the case the lowest rank co-owned team gets kicked out its a further nail in the almost sealed coffin of my interest in football.

You either kick both out or neither.

Forest gone down in my estimations with their antics too.

I trust Cormack has plans in place for the 2030 world club cup when both the Dons and Atlanta qualify

Palace find out this weekend if they are to be allowed to play in Europe.

Well Dogheda Utd's appeal was rejected. Something to do with their league not forwarding them UEFAs memo about multiple ownership earlier in the season.

If they kick palace out or move them to the conference league id say they have deeper pockets for lawyers to challenge so my cynical mind says UEFA will say 'ok we'll turn a blind eye this time but next season.....'
