Hibernian v Aberdeen

Was the win over Motherwell a fluke or the dawn of a new era? We will see when the Robbo Roadshow pulls into Edinburgh on Saturday 19th at 3 pm.

Hibs were shite last night, but I think they will be up for this one, and I fancy a 2-2 draw.

  • The four points are a bonus in my opinion. Trust me, when you get to my age, you'll be more than happy with just the semi 😉

  • Being honest, if we’d been offered a semi & 4 points from the 3 games this week we’d have taken it, but that’s 2 points thrown away there IMO. Completely surrendered the initiative for first 15 mi

  • Ach, not the worst result. Both teams trying not to lose for the most part, quite a cagey affair. We looked like a team at times there. Think Robinson probably got the subs wrong today. I don't think

As one who has slated Robinson and who after Killie at home could see us getting nothing at Motherwell or yesterday and who would have taken 2 draws, I have to say a big well done. I think we would all have taken 4 out of 6 points from these 2 fixtures. Just as perhaps we get a little bit of momentum we now have to wait 3 weeks to face saintees. Would far rather play them next week. Plenty of time for Robinson to work with them all now though.

It's a long lay off and it will be interesting to see the effect it has on form of teams. The winter world cup was 5 weeks off and you could make an argument that it shafted Goodwin a bit as we actually weren't looking too bad under him up to that point. We had taken 25 from 45 points, had made the semi of the LC and seemed to be making progress. Second game back after the WC we bottle a 2-1 lead to lose 3-2 to them in injury time and that was when we started to spiral under Goodwin. 3 weeks isn't five but I really hope the club has a few friendlies up their sleeve as that is far too long for players to only be training.

As you say though plenty of time for Robinson to work with them which is the silver lining to this long lay off when you have moved out 16 and taken in is it 15? I think Mahou made it 15. Anyway given the progress of the last work it's no bad thing for some extended training pitch work and here's hoping we look a bit more refined come the visit of the farmers. We have a not bad run of games after the break. Home to both saints and Falkirk and away to Tannadice before the semi on halloween.

How much holidays are the players getting in this window?

Hopefully still leaves 2 weeks on the training pitch

Interesting the different approaches to this break.

Hibs are going abroad to a warm weather training camp.

Hearts are actually back in this week as Vrancken wants to do double sessions, then give them time off next week to recover when most clubs will be coming back.
