General WC chat

Apologies if breaking any rules or etiquette starting this new thread - but just saw something I didn't know where to post, so thought a general chat thread would do it

Anyway

"Madonna, Shakira and K-pop boy band BTS will co-headline the Super Bowl-style half-time show at this summer's World Cup final."

Speculation is halftime for the final will be 30 minutes.

Just no!

The England manager is complaining that they won't have time to acclimatise to the conditions in Mexico City before they play the co-hosts there.

What does he want to happen? The game to be moved? Mexico to be expelled?

Just sook it up.

Having lived there for 3 years, it will be tough for them and will give Mexico a big advantage. Themโ€™s the breaks though.

Anyway, who wouldnโ€™t want to play at the Azteca stadium?!

I've been to Mexico City. It's fine. Nae hint of altitude sickness...........and I'm hardly a professional athlete at the peak of physical condition. Fuckin' Jessiesย

Their supporters will be fine, they've all got their heads in the clouds anyway.

FIFA now saying England game against Mexico not moving kick off time. England still moaning.ย

USA's Falorin Balogun has had his one match ban suspended for one year by FIFA, meaning he can play in the next game.

US President Donald Trump thanked Fifa for "reversing a great injustice" in a post on Truth Social.

Trump wrote: "Thank you to Fifa for doing what was right, and reversing a great injustice! President DONALD J. TRUMP."

Nothing to see here, no corruption whatsoever.

We all know that Donald is the truth sayerย

Anyone still labouring under the impression that FIFA aren't a bunch of corrupt cheating bastardsย

Not that I'm advocating cheating, but couldn't he have had a word with someone to get a penalty or two for Scotland, seeing as he's half-Scottish?

Hope the US get absolutely fucking pumped.ย

It will just get overturned if they do.ย

More importantly, do you have the ability to merge the subtopics on this world cup forum now that Scotland are well out? It would really compliment the new forum looks.

Yeah should be able to when I get a sec

Thanks Belgium. Cheating never pays, Yanks.

If Donald gets the result overturned, then I'm done with football.

Brilliant news - Justin Beiber has now joined the World Cup final half time show, along with already confirmed Madonna, Shakira and BTS.

Can't wait, this will hugely increase my enjoyment of the game. It's about time! Hope you're watching Cormack.

FFS, just how long a break are they planning on having ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

If they all do one three minute song each, then they have to get the stage on and off the pitch, you're looking at about twenty minutes for half time.

They could put the hydration breaks just before and after half time, that will give them a bit more time.

I'm fairly certain all their songs were written by the same algorithm anyway so they can just blend them in and be done in seven minutes.

Not a great look for Harry Kane accepting an invitation to play golf with a convicted rapist.

The FIFA president is "open" to the idea of a 64 team World Cup from 2030.

Italy still won't qualify, though.

I turned off the England game last night because I couldn't be arsed. It's too much football already. It's already dampening my spirits for the start of the season. It should have all finished today.
