Bukta Bertie Posted Thursday at 13:50 Report Posted Thursday at 13:50 Yes they've done well for a small club from a small town but all the football hipsters and ticket collectors playing with themselves while thinking about them are really starting to piss me off. They won't win the league. They won't win anything so I wish their fan club would calm the f@ck down. Quote
manc_don Posted Thursday at 18:22 Report Posted Thursday at 18:22 They will however, potentially have a huge say as to where the title finally ends up. Easily capable of taking points from all those in the top 6. 2 Quote

It's a flash in the pan for Motherwell and no long term threat to anyone. Their manager will go in the summer and teams will cherry pick their better players, but their fans will remember it for years to come. Hopefully it's our turn, next season, for a good league campaign. 1 Quote
Ajja Posted 20 hours ago Report Posted 20 hours ago He is a genius, I mean shitting the bed in both cup competitions deliberately to keep focus on the league is impressive work. McInnes set the trail though. Quote

The old firm will spend in the summer but it certainly doesn’t guarantee success. just look at us, we’ve demonstrated you can spunk good money on a bunch of players who wouldn’t make my Sunday league team. we need the luck, but bring in a good manager and a good few new players and maybe next season! I actually think thats somewhat harsh. I've fallen into the same trap of being overly critical of them at times but plenty of the players we have signed are decent footballers. The problem is they've been press ganged to serve aboard a rudderless ship with an alcoholic pirate as the skipper. Hearts and Motherwell are being lauded but let's not start thinking they're spectacular teams. They're not. Motherwell are well drilled. Hearts have been riding a fair amount of luck albeit they are earning it through their work rate. Consistency and work rate has kept them at the summit. Nothing more nor less. Quote

Hearts have a better best starting eleven than us as a whole, and in every single position. I think. I'd like to hear who you think would get into their side from ours? Quote
Ajja Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago (edited) It’s a really difficult comparison to make right now because we are so low on confidence and being poorly coached by the looks of it. We are changing our starting 11 week to week with no stability and even within that shifting players from position to position without any partnerships forming either at CB, up the wings or up top. We are the very definition of temporary right now with a chunk of our starting 11 either on loans deals or short term contracts, including the management team. It’s easy to then think the players are all garbage as performances are poor. Hearts are riding on confidence and everyone is busting a gut to play for the cause. Even with changes due to injury they are still getting results as they want it collectively. I’m def not arguing against the idea that they currently look like a team who are player for player just better than us. Same with Motherwell but I’m not fully convinced that with a stable set up and coaching in place that would be the case. We really are making a cunt of it just now. Edited 9 hours ago by Ajja 1 Quote

I'm not into the whole championship manager thing but what I will say is they only narrowly beat us at the weekend and at no point in the game were they particularly comfortable and I certainly never felt we weren't capable of equalising. The gulf really isn't as wide as some of our fans are making out. Again I'm truly struggling to understand why some of ours are being so relentlessly negative. In fact in ALL games we've played against them this season it's been close. Okay we lost 2-0 in the first game but we created several chances and they were already well into their season having taken part in the SLC group stages while we came into the match still cold. We then beat them at home and most recently were beaten by the narrowest possible margin at the weekend. So let's not be making out like they're Real Madrid and we're Ross County. Quote

You're arguing against points I'm not making. I'm asking a fairly straightforward question of who in our team would get into theirs? I'm asking from the perspective of our own side. 1 Quote
Slim Posted 8 hours ago Report Posted 8 hours ago Hearts are on 63 points after 29 games. Our 2014/15 and 2015/16 teams were on 62 and 61 points after 29 games. They're having a great season, but also benefiting from Rangers and Celtic having ridiculous seasons (albeit we didn't have Rangers to compete with). Consistent results against the non-OF teams gives a fighting chance and you don't necessarily need to spend millions to do that. 1 Quote

If one or both the OF are winning week in week out you’re not getting near them. None of us have the quality in depth to do it for 38 games. If they both start fumbling games like this season you’ve got a decent shot at it. Quote

I have zero interest in Heart's players or debating them. The rest of my post, which you are choosing to ignore stands up well to scrutiny. Quote
