The better of two poor teams, but we didn’t really do enough to deserve the win if we’re honest.

You can’t miss an open goal though ffs. Nisbet was good, but that was horrific.

Defence not too bad overall though still a few unnecessary scares. Molloy did well at LB tbf.

Shinnie was excellent in the middle, broke up play and won loads of second balls, Cameron busy but pretty ineffective and Geiger was anonymous.

Bilalovic was absolutely done with at least 20 minutes left, and he was playing shite anyway so why he wasn’t subbed is mystifying.

Still, its a point at a ground we’ve struggled in recent years (where haven’t we mind) so take that as a positive and move on I guess…

Every time I bump into him, I remind him of his finest hour, the 1988-89 Highland League Cup final replay v the Masons at Boroughbriggs, where he was Keith’s player manager. A Tuesday night game after a draw the previous Saturday, a mental drive from Altens to Elgin for a 7.30 KO. Keith 3-0 ahead, and the Masons scored twice in the last ten minutes, but the Maroon heroes held on. 
Keith had had a journalistic drubbing from David Love, an Inverness journalist, and at the end they gathered en masse in front of the main stand and cunted and wankered and bastarded loudly at the cunting wanky bastard. Garner then came across to them and said, “Aye, you’ve made your point boys, now go and applaud the runners-up getting their medals”.

He was never the same after Alex McLeish made the CH gig his own. I was a guest on a podcast with him, and he admitted that he missed THAT league win at Easter Road as he was playing for the reserves at Pittodrie.

A point away from home. A clean sheet and no red card.

Got to take the positives where we can find them.

I don't think Molloy is as bad as many make out.

Tynecastle on Saturday and Tims up here next Wednesday night

6 points from those two games and we're right back in the mix for top six.

Nae exactly the season we expected, when we lifted the cup 9 months ago today.

Exaclty as I expected as a spectacle. Suspect the pitch made the game harder than it might have looked. Utd targeted Cameron, overloading on him when he got the ball, clearly identified him as the danger. Nisbet had to spend too much time back on the halfway line foraging for possession so had to depend on Olusanya as our main outlet which isn’t ideal as he is pretty chaotic as a footballer. Geiger def didn’t have his best game, was overrun for first hour by Camara and Fata(?) but started to get a bit of a hold later on. Shinnie was good and thought McIntyre was doing pretty well before going off. Molloy is pretty solid and was obv brought in to provide some strength and defensive ability against a team of thugs but offered nothing going forward. Thought we were the only team who looked like winning and it’s a reach to say that. Not looking forward to the next two games but would be a very Aberdeen thing to do to take points in them.

Pretty awful game of football from two poor sides. We were the better team but that is a pretty low bar. Never really looked like scoring and created very little. Nisbet went through a power of work but mainly in the wrong areas of the pitch. Olusanya is a really poor footballer and was happy to see him going off only to realise he was being replaced by an equally as bad a footballer in Lazetic. If spent less time looking at the opposition defenders and more time looking for the ball he might just get somewhere. Hopefully injury to McIntyre is not to serious as thought he and Milne played well together again. To be fair to Nilsen he did okay at centre back when he came on. 
 

Point is better than nothing but we are not going to pick up many playing like that.

Hopefully McIntyre's injury isn't too serious but he was holding his hamstring which isn't a good sign.  Bilalovic staying on beyond 45 mins was baffling...his miss in the first couple of minutes was shockingly bad - although Nisbet effort in the 2nd half was it's equal - he worked hard, chased back, helped out Malloy but whenever he got the ball he didn't have a fucking clue what to do and inevitably screwed it up.  As Jute says Lazatic should concentrate on playing his own game rather that try to rile up opposition defenders.  Geiger wasn't as effective as against Dundee.  Molloy was excellent - I'd guess the reason he didn't get forward as often as Frame does was because Bilalovic was ahead of him and there was an excellent chance he'd miscontrol the ball/pass it to a United player so he tended to play safe.  Devlin was hot and cold tonight...made a couple of terrible errors but each time recovered brilliantly.  He needs a break but unfortunately the way we keep losing CBs it won't come any time soon. Milne was fine today although he should have scored but then heading really isn't his forte.  Nilsen did well when he came on - thought it was a strange decision as Malloy can play CB and Frame was on the bench - but he competed well in the air.  Shinnie was very good today (apart from the time he broke up one of their attacks, tried to play the ball to Malloy and sent it straight to a DU player!).
