Aberdeen v Livingston

Mind the guid auld days when Aberdeen played at 3 pm on a Saturday? Well, you have the chance to relive those halcyon days when the Dons take on Livingston at that time on that day (24th January) in the Scottish Premiership.

Livingston are bottom of the league with just one win all season. Aberdeen are heading for the bottom of the league with seven wins, the last of which was ages ago. I fancy this to end in a 1-1 draaaa.

  • This is the most inept refereeing performance in Scotland in sixty years of following football Just completely clueless

Aye, that was entertaining today. I don't know if we responded more impressively to going behind or to the referee being an absolute mess. Starting with the ref, that's the second time I've seen him,

MOTM to frame or topi id say.

frame blows gyamfi away with that performance. Not seen a lot from him defensively but shows attacking intent we don’t see last time. Good prospect.

Topi MOTM now!!!!!!

First league goals in nearly a month and 5 come along. I love 5 goals, but would be good to have used a couple of them against the Huns or Falkirk 😉

Onwards and upwards. Few more weeks and we'll leapfrog Falkirk and Hibs

Only 5?

YYAAAAASSSS!!! 6-2 ... Keskinen again

Fuck me, what is going on today!

Time for a 7th?

At 1-2 I was thinking the club was doomed.

At 6-2 (at the time of typing), I'm thinking that we're winning the lot next season.

Revealing my man crush but big part of topi’s play today is frame. When you have an attacking left back he gives topi space to cut inside by pulling defenders wide. Left side has been a superb today.

Six minutes added on, so plenty of time.

Aww, it's finished.

But, alas, we have to settle for 6.

Well, I wasn't expecting an afternoon like that. Good confidence boost with some tricky games (and Killie) coming up

We could have done without Falkirk and Motherwell running riot, but at least we're above the DABs.

Soon as Karlsson fucks off we turn into an attacking threat.

Great game, despite a terrible referee.

Shinnie ran midfield. Frame a delight. Topi becoming the player we all hoped he would. Nisbet again about to have a better second half of the season than first?

Obviously helped by Livingston not being particularly good.

If that's Leven's last game as interim then nice way to sign off.

He had his chance!

Time stopped at that point.

And I swear he hit that shot in slow motion.

Great result.  Couple of shaky moments first half but so much better going forward.

Actually got balls in the box and passed forward.  Great to see big sivert killing it off.

Created more chances than we have in months. Actually looks like some coaching has gone on this week.

I know livi aren't great but that will help confidence no end. Hopefully nisbet and topi kick on now for the season.

Na, that’s the hardest he can kick it.

More deliveries today than Aberdeen maternity hospital. A great display of attacking football. Frame is a player, god knows why he’s not been in till now. Topi was excellent too and Nisbet played really well. No weak performances, apart from the two defensive errors. I wasn’t expecting that! Now, kick on, please.

One big question from that is why Frame is only getting a start now especially in an area where we have been consistently weak? Thelin appears to have had his favourites and if you weren't one you had no chance.

Did not see that coming. I will say we do have to remember that was an awful Livingston team so cannot read to much into it but it was great to see us getting wide and getting the ball into the box quickly and accurately. Think better teams will exploit our full backs playing as high up the pitch but it definitely helped our wingers today. Ross Hardie really is an awful referee. If that red card stands it’s a 3 game ban for Milne.

Could we appeal the red card or would we get punished for a "frivolous appeal"?

What a team

Now in a pub thawing out.

Ross Hardie shouldn't be anywhere near top flight refereeing.

Yaaaaaassssss!!!

My only gripe today is why we saw Jensen and not lobban.

if we can add a solid holding/center mid before the window closes, replace Armstrong with him, I’m ok with that 11 until summer. Shinnie was very good today but he’s not a holding mid. We need that anchor protecting the back 4, alongside shinnie and Cameron.

Clear emphasis on wide play today, obviously left side better  than right. Another week of  developing that and killie gives us another great opportunity to improve and 3 points.
