KGB Posted Monday at 14:20 Report Posted Monday at 14:20 I was reading some of the stats and analysis on yesterdays game and see we had 16 shots on goal in the first half with an xG of 2.56 which is the highest recorded in a single half by any team in the SPFL this season and the highest since a Celtic performance in 2014. I don’t generally go in for this stuff as it confuses my feeble mind but it sounds impressive and we were excellent Quote

Assuming I am right, that means based on chances created, you would have expected us to score 2-3 goals in the first half? That is the first time ANY side in the SPL has created 3 really good goal scoring chances in the last 11 years . Mental. xG is a funny stat. Who decides what is a chance that someone should score? If you are four yards out and you are Lewandowski, that is an expected goal, if the same chance falls to Keskinen it ain't really an expected goal. 3 hours ago, RicoS321 said: I'd hate to see McInnes take the Huns job. I like McInnes. Would be awfully surprised if that happened. Even a diehard hun would be mad to swap Hearts for Rangers right now. If all the Tony Bloom hype is to be believed, Tynecastle would be a far better option. 1 Quote
Panda Posted Tuesday at 01:47 Report Posted Tuesday at 01:47 We're slowly getting closer to finding out what our strongest line-up is. Problem is, with Tobers injured and two games a week, we won't necessarily see it very often. For now, Knoester-Milne-Dorrington at the back is secure enough, Gyamfi and Devlin as the wing backs. Karlsson finally showing he's not the new Okkels, and Lazetic and Nisbet both massive upgrades on Yengi. I wonder if there's a way to get Karlsson-Nisbet-Lazetic all playing together. Biggest surprise has been Milanovic not quite cutting it yet. The midfield is still a nice problem to have due to the number of options. I like Clarkson, I always think we're better with Shinnie in it, but Armstrong has been far better than I thought he would be considering his lack of game time before coming here. Interesting that Clarkson has at times played further forward and out wide, because he's not the dynamic box-to-box Armstrong and Shinnie are - if only they were both five years younger (but if they were, they wouldn't be at Aberdeen). Clarkson is the new Jamie McGrath in that we know he's good but aren't sure where he fits in, especially in this new three-man defence formation. Aouchiche is another conundrum, and for all his critics I think Keskinen is one of the hardest workers in the team. Okay, maybe we aren't any closer knowing our best XI after all. 4 Quote
