January 2026 Transfer Window

It really never is too early and given it is 2nd September where I am, I'm kicking this one off right now.

Take the chance to start moaning about what we are still missing post Summer 2025 window shutting.

Wonder who the first concrete rumour will involve 🤔

  • Back when Fergie was manager, if a player asked for a day off he'd chain them to the side of the pier. After high tide, he'd untie them, and if they weren't dead he'd fine them a week's wages.

  • Disagree, think he's actually played very well in spells, but has been woefully mismanaged. He's been over played (compare his minutes to Graeme Shinnie), he's been constantly shuttled into diffe

So is Tom McIntyre signing or not 🤔

Ripped up his Portsmouth contract apparently. I had assumed everything was electronic these days.

So we now have Shinnie, Nilsen, Armstrong, Aremu, Geiger, Cameron and Palaversa for the central midfield positions.  Suspect the club will be trying  to move Palaversa also

So we sign a bunch more midfielders, but no additional CH today, despite what almost certainly seems a season ender for Knoester at the weekend.

Really AFC?

So given I believe Milne is still suspended for the next game, and obvs Dorrington and Polvara are away, we really gonna go with Devlin or Nilsen plus Morrison at the back on Wednesday?

And also be one injury away from having one of them at CH for the rest of the season?

Fuck me…

We can still sign a defender before the Celtic game as long as they're a free agent. Therefore Tom McIntyre (left sided CB) didn't need to be done before the transfer window closed.

True, but excuse me if I’m not overly thrilled at the prospect of taking freebies that haven’t been able to secure a club before now like…

Shame that Clarkson is away.

Wednesday night should be interesting.

Reading up on the boy Geiger, says he has not played or performed since May 2025.
Either have any of our lot, so he will fit in well eh 🤨

Really should have built a team around him. But we've fucked everything up over the last ten season's and a bit.

Fixed that for ya min 🙄

The club only had two days to find a centre back. Prior to the Livingston game one wasn't even on the cards. Morrison is a poor signing in my opinion, because of his age and lack of experience, which should have been obvious. But we were probably still hoping to see out the next two games and get Milne back alongside Knoester. We'll probably have had backup options that the recruitment team were looking at, but it isn't always possible to make things happen in January, especially with no prior contact before the weekend and on a short term deal. I don't think a freebie is ridiculous at the moment, or an indictment of the club, just bad luck.

And, if it's Tom McIntyre we're going for, at least he's an experienced defender who won't be taken by surprise by the physical nature of the Scottish game.

Message the club, they might let you borrow the Calderwood tombola

Not that experienced based on his Wikipedia page. 105 appearances over an 8 year period for Reading, then has barely kicked a ball for last 18 months after signing for Portsmouth with a couple of unsuccessful loans at Charlton and Bradford, with the latter sending him back early.

Bradford fans do seem to be quite complimentary about him though.

Tom McIntyre confirmed as having signed short term contract until the end of the season

Welcome aboard and good luck. Suspect you're going to need it

Ooft should we go all out and let the new goalie start with our 2 new defenders tomorrow 😜

Shame for the new lads like. None of them likely to be match fit, but there's a high chance that the two new centre backs and midfielders will all start. Against the Tims. Fuck sake.

Either that or simply ask to concede a 3-0 defeat without a ball being kicked 😉

Excellent idea Al 😉

Every other combination we have tried lately in the league has been pish so why not haha

Our team has been guff all season so I’d be very surprised if playing our new signings makes us much worse. They might play below what their eventual standard will be until they get up to speed but we’ve not exactly lost Pele, Maradona and Willie Miller so I don’t expect too much of a drop off.

This level of optimism will never catch on 😉

It's more the fact that the fans will get on their back, and a certain element will decide they're shite when they're not fit yet. Ideally we'd be giving them a couple of weeks to settle. Just the way of it I guess.

Honestly, Celtic is prob the best match to get them some fitness, rather than a tough st mirren away or utd etc where we really need to win. Sadly, expectations are low and Celtic is a free hit.
