Sounds like a tenacious, battling type but likes a foul and can go in heavy at times. He’ll win a lot of balls but don’t expect him to move the ball forward in any form. Hopefully, the other more creative, technical types around him can do the neat, progressive work while he does the heavy lifting on the physical side. Worth a shot as we’ve been over run in the middle of the park since around Oct 2023. I know Ambrose looked good on YouTube, but I’ve seen much more on YouTube of this guy than you say. Forward passes, driving with the ball, shots, goals. I’m def intrigued, very much the Rama type who will play forward too, not just win the ball. Quote
Blow.Up.Sheep Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago Best comment I have read somewhere about our new signing is "Afeez Heed" .............. now that did make me laugh Anyway welcome to the Dons min and all the best. Quote
Blow.Up.Sheep Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago Just watched his "welcome" interview on Red TV and to be fair to him he genuinely appears to be buzzing to be with us, so fair play to him for that. Say's himself that he is aggressive and nasty on the pitch. Looking forward to his first encounter agaisnt the unwashed hun scum. Jist point out Bag Eyes Barron to him. The just sit back and enjoy the show 2 Quote

Lord knows we need a bit of bite and composure in the middle. I'd argue that Ramadani never added either of those. What he did add was legs and being first to second balls. When Goodwin insisted on playing Ramadani, for months, in front of the defence taking the ball from them and trying to link play, he was absolutely terrible. He wasn't particularly physical either. As soon as Robson moved him alongside Shinnie, ahead of Clarkson we were flying. They were both tenacious and quick to every second ball, with Ramadani great at intercepting and closing down, without requiring to be particularly strong in the tackle. I'm not saying he shirked a challenge, just that he was not particularly aggressive. He was just everywhere. There's a good argument to say that we could have had what Ramadani offered via Aouchiche if either manager had recognised it, as his coverage and closing were both excellent. I'm really hoping that Leven (and beyond) doesn't make the mistake Goodwin did with Ramadani with the new lad by playing him as a sitting defender. He doesn't strike me as the type who is best utilised sitting deep, but rather pressing high and all over. That's based on YouTube and stats though. 2 Quote

BigAl Posted 8 hours ago Author Report Posted 8 hours ago So guys, the talk when the window opened was a goalkeeper, a central defender, a defensive midfielder, a striker and a winger. Just over three days to go and we have got all of those apart from the winger. Anyone got any realistic idea of potential targets to fill that position Quote

TheDonbytheDee Posted 57 minutes ago Report Posted 57 minutes ago All the best Dante min. Some thought you were too lightweight for Scottish football, but you had more balls than most, when you stepped up and put away that penalty last May. Regardless of what anyone thought of him, he will always be known as an AFC Scottish Cup winner. Not many can claim that. Quote
blinlemon Posted just now Report Posted just now I saw him as a bit of a lightweight initially, and wondered if he had it. He proved that my doubts were misplaced in the cup semi-final, and the final, as well as being handy in Europe. He’s the kind of player that from now until summer, in dour struggles with those fuckwads with whom we share a league, we’ll be saying, “Ach, if only the yankee boy wis here”. Good luck, Dante min, min Quote
