Jute Posted March 8 Author Report Posted March 8 Another poor VAR decision game over now as St Mirren 2-0 up. Quote

Bukta Bertie Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 Here we go. Cue the nutters wanting the St Mirren manager at Pittodrie. Quote
Jute Posted March 8 Author Report Posted March 8 St Mirren extremely lucky to get through. If wasn’t for VAR they probably go out tonight. Quote
Bukta Bertie Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 Falkirk or Dunfermline in the final. What an absolute farce. Cue the nutters wanting McGlynn or Lennon at Pittodrie. Quote
Jute Posted March 8 Author Report Posted March 8 Semi final draw. Celtic v St Mirren Falkirk v Dunfermline. Played weekend 18th April Quote
Bukta Bertie Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 Has there ever been a poorer Scottish Cup semi-final line up? Quote

How is it a farce? They've beaten the teams they were drawn against. That's how cup football works. 3 Quote

McGlynn is a very good football manager with a lot of experience. I'd have him at the Dons in a heartbeat. Lennon is also a decent manager, I'd grudgingly accept, but would want him nowhere near Pittodrie. 1 Quote

So what do you want the SFA to do to prevent "three shit clubs" reaching the semi finals again? Have seeded teams in the draw? Everyone who has made it to the semi final has done so on merit. They beat the teams they were drawn against. 1 Quote

In an ideal world I'd want the clearly corrupt SFA disbanded with a new football governing body to be established and absolutely it must be seated far away from the sectarian goldfish bowl of Glasgow. Getting back to the specifics of which clubs are in the semi-finals. I'm not suggesting the SFA should / could engineer which clubs are in them. I am simply pointing out that it's a farce that only one of the seven big Scottish clubs are involved in them. Edited March 9 by Bukta Bertie Spelling error l Quote
CurlsLikeTattie Posted March 9 Report Posted March 9 (edited) Great to see three 'wee' clubs in the semis. All there on merit, and way better than the engineered pish in, for example, the Champions League where it is hard for the 'big' clubs not to get there. It's what cup football is all about. But I'm pretty fuckin pissed off a 'wee' club is there at our expense Edited March 9 by CurlsLikeTattie 5 Quote

TheDonbytheDee Posted March 9 Report Posted March 9 Levels? I'd say John McGlynn is levels above Aberdeen at the moment. If he was wanting a new job, he could do better than the shitshow on offer at Pittodrie. Rumours circulating he will be leaving the game come summer, so I doubt he will be next in the door. Quote

I'd absolutely refuse to entertain the likes of McGlynn or Robinson. Not sure if you're from here but mid table or not Aberdeen are still a massive club and that demands a certain class of manager. Central belt teuchters and irish minks need not apply. Edited March 9 by Bukta Bertie typo. Quote

I imagine pretty much every test driver Ferrari have ever had was a boy racer at some point. Bizzare comparison regardless though. Have you watched Falkirk much? I saw a fair bit of them last season and was very impressed how they moved the ball. That they have continued to have success in the top flight without really compromising how they go about their business is very impressive considering they were in the 3rd tier two seasons ago. McGlynn has got talent, clearly. He also has experience and defo an eye for a player. He's able to spot a capable striker at this level playing in a university team whilst we are wasting money on the likes of Ambrose and Yengi ffs. At the very least he would be a safe pair of hands but I think he would do very well with an increased budget especially with Mowbray returning as chief scout. You can talk about levels all you want but we are only a big club within the context of Scottish football. Let's face it, in the grand scheme of things every club in Scotland is diddy as fuck. 2 Quote

We don't want learners or apprentices. We want the real deal. So it simply has to be a European. No-one in Scotland is big enough for the job. I understand the Scottish nationalist agenda many of you clearly follow so I know what's behind your wilful ignorance on the matter but if you could just try and park (to run with the laboured car metaphor) the insular, xenophobic thinking for even a moment you'd realise that I'm right.
