Arabs v Dons

And so we reach the stage of the season where our last league game is just a couple of days away. Third place is gone and fourth is by no means certain to be ours. Before a ball was kicked in the summer would we have accepted a semi final, a final and either fourth or fifth place finish. I'd imagine for the bulk of us the answer would have been yes, and whilst I expected ups and downs not sure it would be quite to the extent it has been. One thing is for certain, Jimmy is heading into his third transfer window and it is a crucial one. However, back to the game at Tannadice this Saturday.

We really need to get our act together to avoid defeat here and suspect that the Arabs will go for jugular early doors and have the fear that our team doesn't have the backbone to withstand it and we'll be beaten by half time.

I have no idea what Thelin can do to get a tune out of what is available to him and to be honest not sure he does either.

Thankfully I have a long standing family event on Saturday so won't be there and won't be able to watch it on a stream. This might well prove to be a blessing.

3-0 United 🙄

  • Most of the United fans on the pitch were just kids. Had the chair hit its intended target, could have been a lot worse. Singing about hating the Huns then proceeding to act like Huns. Gads.

  • I was at the game. Seat throwing I was in the fair play lower and wasn't far from where Mackenzie got hit. He was in a bad way, was down for a long time. Keskinen also got hit by the same se

Probably find a few more empty seats for next week.

5th, a cup final, and Europe. Decent season.

And yet.  In the context of how much it has been in our own hands to secure finishing higher, 5th feels like something of a self-inflicted disaster.

Is that one of our players KO’d?

Think can safely say next week it will be a cricket score against this team.

Thelin probably has until till Xmas next year to sort this out.

Surely if that is the case, can this not be challenged So Utd lose the points?

He’s just been out coached by Jim Goodwin and a team with worse players than we have in every single position. I hope Cormack is personally underwriting the cost of all these shitebags Thelin is spending millions on.

A points deduction to take us below St Mirren would be the icing on the cake. Can’t even take the moral high ground FFS.

Mackenzie hit by something from allegedly our support. Getting stitches.

Edit: hit by a seat.

Every season, regardless of our situation, we are competing for third. The only difference this year is rangers are shite and 2nd was possible.

bigger picture, year one of a three year project, not bad. Could it have been better and am I disappointed, absolutely.

scottish football is a battle much of the time and we are no where near close to having a team who has the mental and physical capabilities to win a fight. Last four games really give a good case for where we are as all games meant something. Very optimistic finish to last season, close to total opposite this season, and a cup final that could be awful next week. Winning next week would be amazing, but that still doesn’t hide the fact we are a seriously flawed team, and that includes the management team.

still totally behind JT but questions are certainly being asked. Last four games showed a lot of what we have deep down, and that’s concerning.

Sadly that result was coming from about 30 minutes in. We were getting deeper and deeper as half wore on. Going to disagree with those who said Gueye was any good. Like a man down until he was taken off. Subs were awful and other than Gueye wrong players were taken off. If someone could please explain why Ambrose is at our club. Clearly not good enough and should never have been near first team squad.

Was he outcoached? How?

I saw united in the second half try harder. They scored two that came from wide play if I recall, penalty a result of us not clearing a cross (I could be wrong!) they were better in the second half and wanted it more, simple as that if you ask me.

I brought him up about 25 mins in as he was a big physical loon who was involved and had just had a decent shot on goal. I said he’s a good squad player to have, much like Morris. He offers something off the bench was my point. Don’t think anyone said he was good!

I agree re Gueye,we can get more out of him,but he seems to be still resting on his purple patch laurels IMO.

Lets get this weird season out the way and see if we can make more accurate signings in the window.Milanovic looks useful, energetic

Seat 100% came from our fans.

That's fucking mental. There are a significant minority of absolute cunts in our support, and they show themselves when away from home. Does the local boozer still give out a box of 24 beers to any customer willing to pay? Reckon a bit more can be done pre-match in Dundee to weed out some of the worst fuckers. Hopefully the individual will be forced to watch the last four games on repeat, in a cell, for two years.

He seemed to be putting in a decent shift in the opening 30 minutes. However, I'd bow to @Jute on this one, as numerous times I've come back from a game thinking Gueye was a disgrace, but others on here have seen differently. A lot of what he doesn't do is hard to spot on telly, it's his off the ball work that it usually lamentable. I'd rather he wasn't here next season. I can't be doing with players like him and Duk who pick and choose when they perform and are poor team players. Waste of a shirt.

So united pitch invasion invites this reaction , or did a section of our fans just go nuts?? From what I am reading jack’s hit by an object/chair thrown by one of us, but who is on the pitch?

Not excusing, just trying to understand what happened. Did we go to fight/pitch invasion or was it them, that’s my question, just trying to understand the idiocy.

Pretty shcking pic of McKenzie with his head bandaged. Were they aiming at him or the Utd fans? Some of the melts that go to Tannadice though...

It was United fans on the pitch but chair was thrown from our section of support. Both clubs should be punished for this and an extra charge for United not arranging adequate security.

Being a little facetious but motivating players is a key component of football coaching.

If a team of 11 players beat a team of 11 players who are more talented in every single position then it usually comes down to either luck, tactics or motivation. 2 out of those 3 come from coaching.

If our players don’t have the motivation/pride/bottle to make sure they don’t fall behind Dundee United in the league, it’s either that they’re natural shitebags or have had shitebaggery coached into them. As Thelin has signed more than half of them, he’s not off the hook either way.

We’ve had some absolutely rotten teams managed by even more rotten managers over the years, but even then we could put out a team determined not to lose to those jute minks.

As I said, being a little facetious. But only a little.

Yep, a reasonable question. There's a lot of conflating "seeking to explain", with "justification" when these types of incidents occur. It's completely acceptable to try and understand why something occurred, whilst also maintaining that it is entirely unjustifiable (which you are doing).

I asked the question about booze, because every time I've been to tannadice, it's been riddled with folk completely fucked, and it's the second time that throwing incidents have occurred. It's also correct to point out that had the pitch invasion not happened, the chair throwing wouldn't, Utd will have a degree of liability here and will probably get fined. Again, it's not an excuse, or justification, just evidence. As @Slim points out, they were teenage kids that were goading the Dons fans, it could have caused some serious damage. It takes a serious idiot to launch a chair at a crowd of people.
