  1. Yes and no. I’d compare brown to aitken so yes, but that was aitken supporting god. glass to willie Miller??? Miller was as much, if not more of a leader than aitken. What the fuck does glass bring???
  2. I fucking hope so! Zero managerial experience and has been out of the Scottish game a very long time. Please no.
  3. I’d be happy with Robson as an assistant. In regards to Neil, I’m sure mcinnes saw Bristol as a step to bigger things in England but it didn’t pan out that way. I honestly think we’re an attractive job and Neil would be crazy not to consider it......chance for trophies, European experience, a new training ground, and an enthusiastic chairman ready to put his stamp in things. Or he can go to Rotherham, Wycombe, gillingham or the likes.....
  4. So who is a bigger name and huge inspiration? In all seriousness, maybe Duncan Ferguson from the names mentioned here before? I’d say based on championship and premiership experience, Alex neil Is about as big a name as we’ll get. We even may have to consider that I’d assume it would be a fair cut in pay to come here from a championship or premiership team (and yes, he doesn’t have a job presently, but he’d have been earning good money.)
  5. I see Maloney in the same boat as Glass. Completely unknown as a manager, minimal experience, and we’ve no clue if they’ll be any good. Who knows why he’s at Belgium, and from what I’ve read he doesn’t even coach, but consults, scouts etc. Both he and Glass need a successful experience at Motherwell, St. Mirren, Dundee or the likes before I’d consider them for a bigger task like us. Neil fits the mold of mcinnes, even Ferguson, in terms of experience and age, I think he’s a good fit. I’m certainly not over the moon with excitement, but I think he’s the best option and won’t be out of a job long.
  6. Ha. Based on some of the comments you get on here, you never know!
  7. Based on his CV he’s at a new club almost every year. Why is that? I think we want stability with long term planning, don’t see him bringing that, and someone we can see being here 5-10 years, and that’s not him either. I think we want a young ambitious up and comer, who like our players now, sees us as a chance for a trophy or two, Europe, and a step to bigger things. I just don’t see how we can’t look at Neil.
  8. If you believe in fate this is it. Neil is in a similar situation to McInnes prior to him coming to us. Success with a smaller Scottish club gets the English move, but McInnes really didn’t have success in England other than avoiding relegation. Neil got Norwich promoted, and while it hasn’t been great and he gets canned, look what happened with McInnes with us. Don’t see how we can write Neil off, young motivated and ambitious, who else or what else would we want that is realistic? If you want a foreigner that comes with risk, and I’ll include Glass in this category, or if you want an experienced man with winning experience, that’s Neil Lennon. I think Alex Neil has to be our guy.
  9. I understand what you are saying. We have decent players who would compliment good players. I get that. But these players have been producing nothing of late and I’d be inclined to freshen the squad up. We will anyway, just curious to see who actually survives. With a new guy coming in give him a chance to make it his squad. In regards to McLennan, I’d rather see what Ethan ross can do. I disagree with Ferguson. I don’t see him improving significantly under us any more. He needs better players to make him better. Replace him with Campbell or Jackson Irvine for example and it’s a new guy here to prove himself. I think that’s a better option, plus some spare change to spend in the process. I posted on the other thread, wonder what Alex Neil would get out of this bunch, and who he’s able to bring in???
  10. Yup, Alex Neil is an interesting one. Knows the Scottish game, experienced in England, but still a young guy. He’s gone from promotions with Hamilton and taking Norwich to the premiership to being sacked in the championship, maybe he’d see us as an opportunity to rebuild his reputation. Plus we are a big job, and annual European runs are certainly appealing. There’s no standout candidates, I think he’s a pretty good option.
  11. Don’t agree on McLennan. I’ve coached many a player like him, it doesn’t take intelligence to fumble a ball, he’s limited in skill, plus dribble out of bounds etc, and he does that every single game. His feet, speed, and brain don’t work together. I agree Watkins and Wright made a difference, but my point is that every other player is replaceable. They are decent on their day and add some good players they’re acceptable, but we have a poor squad now overall. personally I’d like to see us cash in on Ferguson. He’s peaked with us, much like McKenna did, and I think we get what we can for him before we go the McKenna route and accept less later on. Maybe Campbell at Motherwell replaces him. Give the manager some funds to really build a new squad. Plus make mccrorie captain as well.
  12. McLennan was the kid who was faster than everyone else and got success from that. But skill and intelligence is limited and we see that. Law of averages, we get an occasional highlight but he’s shit most of the time. Hayes, like mcginn, is on the decline and no longer has the pace to beat everyone and is becoming an average left back. We have Ferguson, mccrorie, and Lewis. Hedges is hot and cold. Considine and Hayes have age against them and will only get worse. And that’s it. Maybe Campbell. But we have a poor squad now, and the results prove it.
  13. Very clear, different formation and very different tactics. Clearly told to play out and possession football. Very Leeds-like.
  14. As long as Rangers are held to the same standard as they are asking for I have no complaints....
  15. Yup, I'd like to see us go to a back 4. Our shite form has coincided with us failing to get width in the final 3rd, quite often the wing backs weren't high enough up the park. We end up being too narrow. While Logan is on the decline I'd like to see him back in with Andy at left back, Hoban and Ash in the middle. Allow Hayes to be an attacker again. While it's clear he doesn't have the same pace, he can still be an effective winger. Stick Hornby at 9 with Kamberi floating at 10......I think he'll produce there. If Hornby isn't fit play McGinn at 9. I don't rate Kennedy or McLennan at all, and McGinn has vanished wide, so I really don't care who is on the right. Maybe give Ethan Ross a run? Anyway, 2-1 us. Ferguson and McCrorie.
  16. I know people say we should support Scottish teams and it does affect our coefficient, but I want to Rangers to lose. Every minute. Every game. Every time. Can't hate them enough. Down 1-0. Happy times.
  17. I took it as he's meaning go to Glasgow to try to win games, simple as that. Cormack also stated that there is a clear philosophy now about how we should play too. There have been times we've had the players to win in Glasgow but the tactics have appeared to be shite, the very defensive sit back and absorb until we eventually lose a goal. I don't think Cormack (who is very American in his thinking) is happy with the on the park product and believes we should entertain the fans and try to win every game. With our budget we're capable of more wins than we've had, although I agree injuries do play a factor. We are not going to spend millions but we'll spend enough to build a team capable of winning more, and a good coach should have done better against the old firm in recent years in my opinion. I don't think Cormack expects us to be winning every game, but we should be approaching every game with the mindset of winning.
  18. Good interview. He wants someone who will go to Glasgow to win.....interesting comment. The way it should be!
  19. Although the other one is that he assists Sven!!!! That would be intriguing!
  20. Scott Brown as Stephen Glass’ assistant. I think not!!!!
  21. Many shite names mentioned, but I’d be very comfortable with Glass, Rennie, or Ferguson. I think people have to remember, much like the players now, we’re a stepping stone to bigger things. I don’t want the seasoned manager who is doing the rounds and picking up another gig. Alex Ferguson was young and relatively untried, I’d like us to go that route with an experienced assistant. Glass and Rennie are names many in Scotland will shun but as a coach over here in the US, I see there’s a lot of very creative and talented guys here, plus they have a worldly view of football, learning from many nationalities and cultures. I think it’s narrow minded to think they couldn’t succeed in Scotland. Add that Rennie has a connection to Robson, wonder if there’s anything more there. As for Duncan Ferguson, I think he bring Fergie type characteristics but with a modern twist. I’d see us competing/at least trying against the old firm and certainly not scared.
  22. Well said, and I’m surprised that he went now too. Shows a bit of bravery and ambition by cormack if you ask me, especially since this will cost a bit too. Nothing against mcinnes personally, we’re certainly in a better place now than when he took over, but he peaked a good 2-3 years ago (or longer) and change is needed before we start to significantly decline. The squad will probably be blown up this summer, best give the new guy the opportunity to rebuild.
  23. I think big Dunc is an interesting one, very different to Steve Clarke but the same in the sense that he’s been a coach/assistant at a big club for a while, plus interim head for a short time. There must be something there, plus I love his passion and enthusiasm for the game, seems to be a players coach too. Then again, worryingly, he reminds me a bit of John Hughes and that’s a huge hell no! Ferguson has never been a head coach, never mind with the financial situation of a Scottish club like us, more questions than answers if you ask me, but a risk I’d be open to.....if he is actually an option.
  24. You are correct, he has a year left. I thought he was done. While hedges has certainly looked up for it in recent months, a lot has been inspired by his connection with wright. He’s hit and miss too. I will add, I’d you are correcting spelling can I suggest a period at the end of a sentence?
