I think McInnes will have learned from the season opener. We got nowhere close that day. We weren't cautious against the tims either, so I expect a similar performance against the Hun. I have some sympathy with him on the Ojo situation though, it's a real dilemma. What do you do to bolster that gap? The obvious solution would be to throw another player alongside him and Ferguson, but then the accusation will be that we're too defensive. Who would you choose anyway? With Hayes out, you'd expect Leigh to be out wide (which I'm not convinced by, especially up against tavernier), so could Kennedy do a job centrally? It's frustrating, as we really need our best eleven out to get something, and McRorie and Hayes are huge players for us. They bring so much to the balance of the team. I fear our only hope is to get scrappy and ugly and get some luck.

It's impressive gaslighting from the charlatan like. The republican party concerned about election fraud? Fantastic. I'm only 20 minutes in, but none of what he has described so far is electoral fraud. He has great showmanship, the sort that would convince a public jury, but that's not how these things work with electoral fraud. He knows it to, so he must have some other angle. Perhaps it's just sowing doubt in the public to try and get some leverage before January comes and goes and Trump is in the courts. Who knows. The man's an utter sleaze like.

Aye, wasn't a great result. Could have played all day and not scored, they were comfortable in the end. If that result had been under any other circumstance, the manager would be taking a fair bit of abuse, but they're a decent team that we shouldn't be expecting to beat away from home without a very good performance. We lacked a cutting edge, Dykes works very hard but he's not going to get on the end of his own knock downs. Christie and McGinn looked knackered, Fraser or Forrest in the squad would have made a difference. O'Donnell and Jack had good games tonight, Gallagher too. Thought for a second Burke had turned into a footballer, but then he ran out of play with the ball in customary fashion. Oh well.
-
Kennedy fine, but.... Ojo
-
Aye. Whole defence should have been across that way though, they could have doubled up on that guy. Tierney slow to get back in. McTominay could then have been side on ushering the player out wide. Edit: Tierney and Jack.
-
Yep, Considine on for the last ten to grab the winner.
-
Aye, that's how you're supposed to lose FFS Clarke!
-
Lost 1-0. That pitch was ridiculously bad, like watching something in the 80s. Made for a very slow game, Scotland doing very little and probably deserving to lose in the end. Hornby should have scored with the last touch of the game though, good ball fae McLennan. The dons were okay, nothing special. Shame for the u21s like, they'd been doing well.
-
Internet collapsed, so I missed the goal. Looked fairly pedestrian after it. McLennan been okay, McRorie not great at right wing back, and Ferguson to slow to move the ball in midfield - he's better than that. Hornby looking pap up front again, an ideal McBurnie replacement.
-
Playing on a tattie field by the looks of it

Interesting LA. Agree with most of that and DTD's assessment of the forwards. Nisbet was pap against us, but could see him replacing Shankland as the SPFL striker on the fringes. Ferguson must be in with a shout if we get a few injuries in midfield as I think he'll be close to a big move by then. Although thin Chelsea cunt who got sent off for the u21s will likely be included by then too. Like you, I don't see any Scottish player offering anything we don't already have in the squad in abundance (other than Wright, but he'd have to have a very good season), we seem very good at producing professional, hard working footballers that under a good manager can take an organised approach giving little away.
-
He was pap for the u21s the other night. Not playing for Reims at the minute unfortunately, and it shows. Hopefully he'll get a chance. Scott Wright to sign a three year extension, start banging them in and get the call in the new year. We were crying out for a good Christie replacement last night, someone with a bit of trickery, good on the break, and a fucking dandy.
-
Aye, some boys like, a deserved win. Should have had it in the 90 but the subs were pish (although they replaced players that were knackered). McTominay switched off at that corner, but the defence was solid all night. Gallagher especially. O'Donnell, McGregor had fantastic games and Christie did what he does after being anonymous. Dykes man of the match probably.... if you don't include extra time and penalties, which Marshall wins hands down (or up?). Fantastic save, and I was bricking it when he was asking the ref if it stood. After a ropey start, Clarke has done a phenomenal job. To get that team of stunted, under-developed, evolutionary challenged players that were too small to make it to a tournament, to a tournament is just amazing. He must have introduced some sort of steroid, because we as a nation don't have the stature of a Serbia or Slovenia.
-
He had a beauty against Burnley away. A fair stretch. He was ace in that game. A top goalie like, best at one on one's in the league. Best keeper in the league.
-
Cracking game. Good result in the end. Middleton looked good in the second and McLennan with a great finish. Wasn't that impressed with either McRorie or Ferguson, but both better than Gilmour when he came on! Harvie looked decent too. Hornby looked like a player not playing much fitba. Edit: Johnson at the back looks class too. A left sided defender is what we're lacking in the first team.
-
Not so much, Gilmour....
-
Super sub
-
Christ, defending by Porteous and McRorie. We were all over them too. What's the deal with the free sky thing tonight? Is it only available on the telly, or is it on the net too?
-
Nah, you need the big cunt to win headers in the middle, with the other two sweeping up behind when they fuck up. Like Ash Taylor. It's not like the sweeper in a 3-4-3 really, it's almost like you need two to be positionally aware and one to be tackling. Gallagher or McKenna would be good at that (McKenna has played centre of the three for the dons a few times and he was good there, but he had to make way for Ash who couldn't be trusted get forward from a wider role). I'm with you on McTominay, but given him and Gallagher are the only two right sided players he's probably got a slight advantage. I think McTominay on his correct foot is marginally better than the others on their wrong foot. It'll likely be Cooper just to keep us all guessing.
-
Isn't Tierney playing left of a three for arsenal? Anyway, I think he'll go Tierney, McKenna, Gallagher. As good as Gallagher has performed, he's very weak on one on one's, being extremely slow to turn. We've been quite lucky to have been up against poorer opposition when he's been in, and I think he could easily get caught against a better front line. That said, McTominay is a liability positionally, and McKenna has his weaknesses too so I'm probably being too harsh. I think the pace of Tierney would compliment the bigger defender in the centre quite nicely and I'd probably play Tierney, McKenna, McTominay, although it would be exceptionally harsh on Gallagher.
-
I was wondering if there was any available AI or machine learning algorithm that could prevent us from playing Ojo against the huns? We've got nearly two weeks.
-
I didn't think it was meant, in normal time it looked like he was aiming for the other player (Hedges or McRorie I think) who stopped their run. His layoff to Cosgrove for the second was sublime though, definitely meant.
-
Their election coverage has always been fairly decent, this time no different. It's their general news coverage in the four years that aren't election time that is the issue. Climate change denying paid for con artists. Murdoch's given the message now though, Trump no longer has his support, watch on as all his titles stab him in the back and pretend they never supported him in the first place. Biden isn't a threat to them anyway, a centre right conservative in the mould of Osbourne or May in this country.
-
Yep. A bit like last week, two early goals and the game was dead. We were just better all over. Wright needs to be contracted for another 8 years.
-
Great start. Two great finishes. Some terrible defending by them. Cosgrove exactly what we've been missing with that finish, it was like Rooney, just total confidence that he was scoring. However, he looks about 70% fit and is offering very little else. Not showing for Hoban and Considine who've both chipped several balls down the line for him and he's stopped running. Give him another 15 to gain some fitness and get Edmondson on (or Main, for a laugh). Kennedy makring Boyle with ease, and Ferguson and McRorie looking good. Considine not playing well, must be the jitters ahead of the international week and the big 500 coming up. Hedges not doing too much, but a good all round performance so far.
