  1. It may or may not be a load of shite, but you clearly do not understand any of the arguments so I wouldn't trust your judgement.

I understand them fine, which is why I commented against them.

It's the fact that you're so partisan that you miss the obvious irony when you make the point about people from Westhill didn't complain about building when they built all those Westhill hooses.
I do indeed, I have no idea what this means?

You live in Garlogie, what the fuck are you doing at the beach looking for spaces? You could park anywhere from Anderson drive down and walk to Pittodrie within 40 minutes. Although you don't go to the games because it's not on your doorstep though, do you?
    Yes I do.  :dunno:

Do you think that the traffic you experience going into town from Garlogie will in some way be easier for those coming out to Westhill? Or is this whole thing to you just some selfish: "it's better for me" as eluded to in your point 1?
Yes, because instead of everyone funneling east to a narrow pinch point, fans will arrive from all points of the compass.

Again, you've totally missed the point. Nobody give a shite about the various exhibitions and meetings held regarding a stadium in fucking Westhill. The supporters of AFC were given no opportunity to review side by side plans of a re-developed 13,000 seater Pittodrie alongside the Westhill shite-dome and choose for themselves where they wanted the home of their club to be for the next 100 years or more.
Because fans don't consider practicalities, they prioritise emotional areas of concern, rather than practicalities. There was no point the club coming out with a "here's the choices" menu, fans would have chosen the status quo regardless.

    . You're a ridiculously partisan SNP supporter,
    You'll have to explain howso?

why don't you apply some logic to it? If you voted for SNP because they wanted to build a new Primary in Garlogie and then the Tories won and came knocking on your door asking how you'd like the hooses to look that they're building instead would you tell them to fuck off?
I see no logic there, I don't even understand the anaology you're trying to make? If it's something I approve of, it doesn't matter the colour of the party who propose it, likewise if it's something I don't

I think that the suggestion in the other thread by the club that UEFA would have forced us to play in front of 13K had we made the group stages should make AFC fans sit up and take note. If you seriously don't think you're being lied to then you're not looking hard enough.

The lie is it would be a fait acompli, that it could happen isn't. Would it, I rather doubt it, it bore no part in any thoughts I had on the issue.
  2. Beto lost his senate battle so I don’t know if that means he’s blown his 2020 chances or not.

I’d like to see Elizabeth Warren as the Dems candidate against Trump. She has some baggage but I like the cut of her jib.

Charismatic. Energetic. Just about won Texas from something like 14 points back. Seems like  a superb option.

Warren? Another hillary. Someone with spark has to take it to Trump or he will win again.

  3. Petition to save Pittodrie doing the rounds on Twitter.

    https://www.gopetition.com/petitions/save-pittodrie.html#.W-BcDzQGJZQ.twitter

Apart from the fact the horse has bolted, what a load of shite.

The match day experience will change from being a short walk from the city centre in the heart of the city - for who? Seems to be another "walking distance" fan upset that after a lifetime of convenience, it'll be convenient for a different demographic of fans. Pish

But you don't need to move six miles away, where the day becomes about shuttle buses and the countryside, to do that. - for who? I won't be shuttle bussing, many others won't either, in fact it'll be a helluva lot easier then crawling through town and trying to find a parking space down the beach.

The club has had NO discussions with the fans over Pittodrie, not a single bit of debate. We have simply been told it is not possible and if it is then it is too expensive, rather than having a grown up and open debate to look at what we as a city and support can do to stay in our home. - fit the fuck? Well if you haven't gone to the various exhibitions and meetings, that's up to you, but one thing that can't be denied is the number of times fans have had the chance to go and see and comment on the development, and provide their feedback.

  4. What I am wholly and utterly sick of is the local politicians slagging this off at every turn. It's been built, it's nearly open, but to hear the daily pish in the P&J and EE from Lewis McDonald, Mike Belly Rumbles, and Andrew fuckign Bowie, you'd think their party's had all been intent on building this, and if it wasn't for the nasty SNP it would have been done long ago.

I will say Lewis did say last weekend that the contractors had a lot of questions to answer, so finally a smidgen of sense, but the other two, they can go and take a lang walk into a midden, the stinking shites that they are.

  5.

The tranny cyclist should be in their own category and shouldn't be able to claim victory in a straight sex event. If it was me I'd be embarrassed to even pretend it was a level playing field and claiming victory. It's morally fraudulent. That said, it's not their fault the category doesn't exist.

"She" is absolutely glorying in it on twitter, lapping up the "fame", and not a hint of shame.

  6. If I was a woman in that race I'd be screaming "game's a bogey" but no doubt their ruling body will be telling them to keep their subservient mouth's shut so as not to cause offence.

Third place finisher is indeed screaming on Twitter, this after the winning "woman" decided to boast about "her" greatness on twitter.

Winner: https://twitter.com/rachelvmckinnon  Love her byeline: "I'm an internationally recognized expert on the science and ethics of transgender inclusion in sport"

    3rd Placer: https://twitter.com/jkwagnermd

  7. It’s his pension that he’s donating to charity.

    There’s no doubt he’s loaded.

He will do yes, but while an MP/MSP he donated one salary wholly to charity, and while just an MSP also donated considerably.
  8. If he isn't a millionaire then he must spend cash like water. As First Minister he would have lived free of charge for 7 years. I think they even get housekeeping staff  thrown in, plus chauffeured around wherever he fancied. Essentially no living costs for 7 years whilst trousering his First Minister's salary. IIRC it was £125k when he started and he finished on over £140k.....thats well over £800k as it is. AS an MP/MSP for almost 29 years......and for 11 of those don't forget he doubled up...... he would not have been short of a bob or 2 certainly earning way over the national average probably nearer twice it.

Didn't double up, donated one salary wholly to charity. Still had his own house in Strichen to keep. Don't think the SNP took any of their pay rises either.

If you start doing a daily express counter, and go through back salaries, most of us could make millionaire, I'd be rather amazed if Salmond's net worth ran to 7 figures considering his charitable givings.

  9. the man was right on the biggest issues.

Spot on. But so many in this country, and across the UK, are so blinded by their hatred of the SNP that they can't call a spade a spade when they see it. Probably the smartest political operator in my lifetime, though John Smith, if he'd lived may have equalled him.
  10. I think Connery has been the only Scotsman to portray Bond then, therefore, surely confirming that her problem is purely because he's a black man.

Indeed, although, on this occasion and probably for the first time, I agree with her.

The character isn't a black man, and while there have been terrible castings before - Tom Cruise as Reacher, John Hannah as Rebus spring easily to mind - it's surely not beyond the bounds to try to stay true to what the character is?

  11. Yes worth it but not in terms of progress in Europe. It’s competitive preseason games which I think has had us better prepared for our league season. While I don’t know specifics, pretty certain we benefit financially despite the cost of travel etc to far off places.

    You are me.

Been saying for a number of years, play the qualifiers, it's better than pissing around to Brechin or Hull, and then be out in time for the season starting.

  12. Like the R & A selling the Open to Sky, the agenda of maximising immediate profits is diminishing the audience and killing the grass roots in the longer term.

I've yet to find a single person who agreed with the official line "it's great for growing the game" or fitiver pish it wis they said at the time.
  13. You and millions of others. This is the lowest viewing audience of a major in living memory. They're wanting us to subscribe to 11 sports and pay £49 before we can screen mirror. They can fuck off. Watching it on the wife's iPad. Pain in the fucking arse. A fanny pad of a tournament from the coverage point of view.

The free facebook feed on Thursday & Friday has probably ensured that 11sports will crash and burn before it's even begun. just horrible coverage.
  14. DD it was cold during the winter, I stay to the North of the City and days could have snow outside, but go into centre and nothing. Even when it snows, it usually hangs about longer out in the shire than it does in the City.

Once we move to our shiny new stadium, you'll appreciate how colder it gets the further out of the city you go.

Funnily enough, I live out in Garlogie, we had two days of snow this winter.

And yes temps do drop a degree or too further out you go, and vice versa in warmer weather, but you're forgetting to factor in the windchill factor at ice-station Pittodrie

  15. McIlroy has four majors. Colon Monty has none. Norman got two.

I agree with your point that some sportspeople (inc. golfers) underachieve once they're loaded. I don't think it applies in Rory's case.

I don't think you can claim that was the reason for Monty & Norman underachieving either though, if that's your argument, which I'm not sure it is?

  16.

Ballater 36er is a great day out. Havn't played there for a while though, how is it after the flood? Braemar 36er, if they still do it, is a fine day too.

Greens were great, course a little scruffy, and they recovered very well from the flooding, large squad of members had it back in shape in no time.

Braemar still do their 36er, just one day now though, sign of the times.
