I wouldn't want him anywhere near Aberdeen. I'd rather take Bruce Anderson as per the shouts above. However, don't be wholly surprised if Shankland is linked with Aberdeen... Edit: I don't think I said it strongly enough that I wouldn't want him at Aberdeen so just to reiterate: Not now, not ever.

I don't watch English football so excuse my ignorance, and perhaps this guy is the next English superstar, but how the hell does a striker score just six goals in the Championship and then command a £5m transfer fee? I'm sure he has other facets to his game other than just scoring goals, but that seems about £2.5m overpriced even by the overinflated English transfer standards. What it does do, is make you think Millwall likely will expect a sizeable transfer fee for Nisbet after 14 goals and a Scotland call-up last season. Maybe not quite £5m (he's six years older) but be very surprised if he's leaving Millwall for any less than £1m unless it has significant add ons. And for a club of Aberdeen's budget that would be an enormous risk on a guy whose goal scoring record wasn't that good (better than six though) and who has little sell-on value.

@Kowalski is this you officially calling an end to the celebrations -

Am I being whooshed here? That is their goalkeepers modelling the goalkeepers strip
-
Someone posted this on P&B. The training top is actually a decent alternative to those who don't like the strip.

Too high-end for me that.

I've been on an emotional journey with this shirt, and have decided I like it enough now to pay £15 for a fake-almost-real version.

The more I see it the more I'm inclined to think it's alright, and I think it'll look great when we add the League Cup to our trophy collection.

The two-tone red kit features a red inspired by two periods in our history. The dark maroon red pays homage to the colour worn by the original Aberdeen team founded in 1881. That Aberdeen side would then go on to merge with Orion and Victoria United to form Aberdeen FC in 1903, and the rest is history. This maroon red colour was also prominent on our most famous night in 1983 within the bench jacket worn by Sir Alex Ferguson as we defeated Real Madrid in Gothenburg, and most recently celebrated late last year throughout the launch of our adidas SPZL range.

I don't love it or hate it. It's fine.

Well there's also a Finnish defender and a Montenegro international potentially joining the trip to Portugal too...
-
This could probably go in any of the three forums. Former Celtic defender John Clark. An Aberdeen connection there as he was assistant manager at Pittodrie in 1977.

Midfielder and striker arriving before Portugal hopefully. New home strip coming Wednesday.

We have the fourth hardest start according to Opta. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cp3lnywpznwo

As tough as Hibs' drawing Midtjylland is, it could work out well for him. Although underdogs, not an impossible tie to win, and if they do I think they would take Midtjylland's seeding for QR3 (draw is before the QR2 games are played) so would be seeded for QR3. Good chance for them to get to the play-off round. They'll lose 5-0 on aggregate.

Sensational from Aberdeen's admin

My main gripe is three of our four games over the festive period being away (five if you include the league cup final), and I can't make the one home game as a mate is selfishly getting married in Glasgow, which the fixture list hasn't considered. But, think most games after the European matches are at home. And I don't mind a tough start, get wired in early and set our stall out. Playing Hearts and Celtic will bring back great memories of Hampden last season.

You know what, I'm gonna do something very rare as it's very seldom this happens to me, but I take it all back. I had a big argument ready there about how the team in 12th in League One is probably on a par with 12th in the Premiership. But I just went and had a look at Barnsley's squad and they're fucking shite. And Stockport (who finished third) have Sam Cosgrove. Sorry everyone, dunno what came over me. I'll reflect on this and be better.

Derek Adams said League Two was Scottish Premiership standard (well actually, he said Morcambe were 100 times better than what Ross County were producing). I say the majority of League One is on a par with the majority of the Scottish Premiership, and in the words of Derek Adams, I stand by it. Typical <enter Rico's profession> sensationalising comments for clicks though.

By all accounts did well in League Two with Barrow, be interesting how he does with the step up. Despite how much Scottish football fans bristle at the suggestion, the majority of League One is probably on a par with the majority of the Scottish Premiership.
