  1. You want a rumour @OrlandoDon, I'll give you a rumour.
  2. I like the sentiment behind it, but unless we win the League Cup wearing it I can't see it becoming a cult classic. And like I said for the home top - £68, wise up.
  3. New away top
  4. That's fine, I will shield Thelin of all criticism until he settles in. It's the least I can do.
  5. No-one is saying treat the group stages as friendlies. But they are low level opposition and we don't need four friendlies before it. Sharpness and fitness will come from the four games. If we're not fit enough v QOTS then something has went badly wrong and a friendly with Fraserburgh would not have been enough to fix it.
  6. The reason for the League Cup group stage being this early is because it's meant to replace friendlies. Last time we were in the group stage (under Goodwin) we had played seven games before the start of the Premiership season. Was probably overkill. We only won four of our first nine games and were taken to extra-time by Alloa. Last season Robson announced we'd be doing double training sessions before every match day during pre-season. Won three of our first 13 Premiership games. So I'm quite content with them just training. Even if we're rusty we'll still win the group, let's be honest.
  7. Has announced his retirement. Love the man. Truly one of our own.
  8. Aye he was posting some nonsense about instagram the other day. A time waster. Morris snores according to the Aberdeen instagram. He's rooming with Miovski and it was exclusively revealed he snores. Not sure about the other three. We could maybe all take it in turns to keep a watch on instagram? Thelin says we might have a kick about in Portugal, if not we'll have an internal friendly. Again, exclusively revealed on instagram.
  9. If I've worked it out correctly, we should (providing Kilmarnock make it as far as a play-off) play St Mirren, Kilmarnock and Hearts on Sundays after they've had a midweek European fixture. There is the caveat that we ourselves will be in transition under a new manager so we'll likely be rocky too, but apart from the remarkable decision to send us to Kilmarnock on Boxing Day, the fixtures work out well for us. The aim should be to be at least third by December.
  10. Kristijan Lovric, Croatian winger; has followed Alan Burrows and Rubezic on instagram which may be a sign he's on his way or at least there's some sort of interest. Although he did similar three years ago when he followed Celtic. Was a £2m signing three years ago, seven goals in 25 appearances last season in the Croatian top flight. If Duk is leaving this would seem a more than adequate replacement (but 8 yellow cards, never seen a winger get booked so much).
  11. I actually met Dave Cormack the other day in Munich, was chatting to him for a wee bit. Nice guy actually. I did tell him he sacked Stephen Glass too early and the other two that followed him not early enough. We did both agree though Thelin has the job for life on account he's gonna win us the lot. Oh and keep it quiet because he told me off the record, but Ryan Jack coming home after the Euros. Gonna be the highest paid player in our history. Exciting times.
  12. I get what you're saying. BBC - we get stick if we push women's football and we get stick if we don't. But you probably have no interest in half the Scots going to the Olympics, but strap yourself in because we'll be posting lots about them. But the Aberdeen twitter - I don't want to see "here's our fixtures this month" and it's the men's and women's fixtures mixed in together on the same graphic. Like my first post on this thread, it's creating an expectation that because you support the men's team than you automatically support the women's team because "we're the same, we wear the same strip, we're the same club". But it's not the same. As far as I'm concerned, Aberdeen have never been relegated. Do we make accept we have relegation on our record now because the women's team got relegated?
  13. Depends. Theo Snelders, Neale Cooper, Jonny Hayes and Super Joe Miller all did it and remain revered up here. Ryan Jack & Charlie Mulgrew though. Think it's more than they're both pricks rather than the clubs they played for.
  14. Bojan Miovski confirming he's away on instagram. Okay, he actually just posted a photo of him buying a fruit juice with the caption "fruitful adventures await... " but if that doesn't say "I'm signing for one of the old firm, I look forward to beating Aberdeen at Hampden" then what does?
  15. Will Shayden ever win three tennents sixes like Joe Miller did? The true test of a man's skills was in that tournament.
  16. Let's not have some revisionism here and make out Hayes' crossing was always on point. I'd say Hayes & super Joe's abilities were very similar.
  17. Behave yourself otherwise I'll get Rico bumped from everyone's teams. Or worse, I'll pick him but play him as a holding midfielder.
  18. Loved watching him play. An old fashioned winger who was great at taking players on. He was, you could argue, similar to Hayes.
  19. Hold on, what's the rules here, because Miller & McLeish both played post-Fergie. Or is it only players who never played under Fergie? Option One (with Fergie players) Snelders McKimmie W.Miller McLeish Robertson J.Miller Jess Bett Richardson Weir Gillhaus Option two (without Fergie players) Snelders McNaughton Anderson Severin Robertson J.Miller* Jess Bisconti Richardson Glass/Hayes** Gillhaus *Technically he signed a second time in 1993 so this is Joe Miller #2. He was my favourite player growing up and 12 year old me wouldn't allow his exclusion. **Actually hard to pick between the two
  20. Interesting debate. What would the post-Ferguson team be?
  21. So what's the thoughts with this - praise him for his contribution up until he takes a job at Celtic, then disown him for ditching us for them for a second time? Only fair I reckon. For now I'd say he walks into a Dons XI for the past 10 years, and quite possibly 25 years too. A fantastic player at his peak and we got the best of him. And even when the legs got old you could never criticise his work rate.
  22. This is why. You moaned about the last one so the club have gone in a huff. We probably won't hear from him until September now.
  23. Quite the goal..
  24. That may as well be on a different forum. This is the problem with different sub-forums and it's something I'll be raising at the Donstalk end of season cruise.
  25. He was linked to a move to Aberdeen, therefore this is the correct thread to stop other posters from asking if we've made a bid for him yet. Decision: Overruled.
