  1. £1M seems cheap but then it also appears that afc are desperate to get any kind of money in they can for Russel. Has he even been offered a new contract yet?
  2. Paul Gallacher has apparently been linked with us in some of the Sundays. Of course there are no quotes or much in the way of evidence to back up their stories but none the less would be a decent signing IMHO
  3. dunno who recorded this and not sure how it ended up on my phone. Enjoy clicky clicky linky linky
  4. get your self RedTV. Only costs about £30 per season and you get all the goals and extended highlighths from every afc game, plus the Hun game highlights with both the Archie and RedTV/Northsound commentary
  5. I still can't believe the huns have any interest in Langfield, and if he really is pissed off at missing out at the Theo role at Ibrox then fuck him, punt for pennies and get someone else in
  6. I'd rather not be in a position where Brewster gets anywhere near the pitch so lets go out and get a striker
  7. Normally hate these things but that was excellent Loved the RedTV commentary and some good crowd-cam shots that I hadn't seen before. Also did anyone else notice the totally half-arsed lacklustre attempt by the policeman to drag folk off the pitch after Lovells goal. FFS I can't wait another 7 weeks till the Shed
  8. Yeah he did but I was talking about his cup record with afc, which doesn't need repeating as there isn't one. Having seen the fixture list looks like this season is going to be even more of a challenge for JC. United, killie, hibs and the huns away and the tims and hearts at home in our first 7 could set us up brilliantly for a great season or see us out of europe out of the cis cup and down near the bottom of the league before the clocks go back. It'll be a hell of a ride what ever.
  9. can you not get alot of these type of photos from Aberdeen Journals?
  10. Next season could be Jimmy's biggest challenge. 1st season was a revelation; 2nd season was about stability which involved half a step back; 3rd season was indifferent for much of the season but ended up with a magnificent 3rd place. The fans will be looking for 2nd or 3rd next year or we'll all be getting on his back again, but we could just as easily finish 4th. However given Hibs apparent free fall under Collins, the prospect of a Naismith free Killie and a stagnating united, ict and the rest it seems to me that we'd have to have a hell of a bad season to finish outside the top 4, so, with luck, Europe should be secured, which at the end of the day should be our main aim for the league next season (rather than actual placing). It will be the cups that will shape our season IMHO. JC's cup record doesn't need repeated here and it is VITAL we get at the very least a trip to Hampden, preferably for a final (either will do) and hopefully for a win. It is these types of games that will get punters back through the gates on a more regular basis and will also boost the bank balance. Perhaps even more important for the bank balance is Europe. The Group Stages would be a remarkable achievement given the likely opposition we will face in the 1st round and would be a huge financial boost and help reduce the debt a wee bit. More likely we'll be knocked out at the first time of asking so a draw against a German, English, Spanish, Italian or French side should be hoped for from a money point of view. So in my wildest dreams we'll finish 2nd, win a cup or two and progress to the UEFA Group stages. I expect, maybe demand, Top4 and Euro qualification, Cup Final and Good trip to europe. I just hope we don't miss out in europe in the league, get pumped by Partick Thistle in the cup and get humiliated in europe
  11. no change still a pipe dream and afc have no realistic back up plan for when the council tell us (rightly) to fuck off
  12. I liked singing anti social songs about Brewster (although admittedly this was on the train after we humped them (and him) 3-1 when a group of arabs enjoyed our company)
  13. I don't think we have the players to attract the big kind of fees hibs have got (and we need to clear some of the debt) Don't see any benefit in selling any of the players with contract up in the next 12months. The money we make will not offset the disruption to the team, and in anycase it will cost us a fair proportion of the fee to replace the player. Only acceptable sale would be russel (or anyone else) for 7 figures. If we do start selling the likes of hart and nicholson for a few hundred grand you have to wonder about the clubs ambition
  14. We weren't yo-yoing in the early days of the SPL were consistently SHITE I'm amazed we're as high as that
  15. Foster has done well, particularly when there has been so much vocal criticism of him. Certainly since xmas he has been solid and done a great job at LB. He obviously isn't ever going to be a Scotland player (what you smoking Neil Simpson?) but is a great, versatile squad player for afc. McNamara will be no doubt suffer from injuries and the like and Foster will be more than able as an understudy. He may well do a job in LM but I'd rather get one of those rare beasts, a Left sided winger
  16. long closed season to go but makes a nice change to already have made signings (btw you forgot Mair anywhere in your squad Reekie) and look to be getting a couple of others in and the Cup final hasn't even been played yet!! I think this continued optimism will depend on whether we can keep hold of Hart and Anderson. Obviously the loss of either one would be huge but if we lose both I'd be worried about our defence next season (mair and mcnamara are no replacement for hart and anderson). Hopefully we won't lose much apart from Winter and Dempsey, thus bolstering the squad as much as the first XI.
  17. nothing much just that he had been at Aberdeen since he was 16, "for his sins" General chit chat about Europe, past glory days and his International hopes. Was asked if he thought he would have had more caps if he had been an OF player and replied "some people say that" before going on to praise the current defence. Upset to be missing the game to day but will be at tyncastle cheering on the lads. Wonder if he'll come in our end or stick to the directors box? All in all nothing v exciting but good to hear afc getting some press on national radio
  18. Due to a number of withdrawals I have 4 Friends Fare tickets available for Saturday. Leave Queen St 1042 Arrive Aberdeen 1314 Leave Aberdeen 1753 Arrive Queen St 2037 As they are friends fares the 4 tickets go together. Happy to sell at cost price, total price for 4 returns £41. Having said that if there are just one or two of you interested then that's fine, atleast some of the tickets will be getting used. £10 Return each. PM me asap if interested
  19. fucking working 12hr shifts over the weekend will be at the rest of the remaining games however
  20. I tried to deny this was happening but apparently we have signed this "versatile" "utility" player <sigh>
  21. anyone else having a problem logging on?
  22. I fear for tomorrow, what with the absence of anything resembling a full back and even less of a midfield than normal. Then throw into that mix tango and his tactical tombola. Could be a long day down in Ayrshire
