  1. dundee min this time last year we lost late goals to ICT and St Mirren It took us several weeks until we managed to get late winners/equalisers ourselves As I said this season is following a similar pattern, due in the main to our horrendous pre-season We are, and will be, solid at the back, but yet again have no midfield to speak of. The fact that we are all praising a 40yr old striker says it all. We did better than we have all season today, hearts and hibs are shite, and we'll improve, and the press will wonder why we have a go at JC even though we get apparent consistency.
  2. look like something from argentina brilliant Thought that was our best performance by far this season but we clearly lacked fitness towards the end. The problem, as I, and others have been saying for weeks, is our pish poor pre-season. We didn't prepare for life without anderson, we didn't settle on a strike partnership and we clearly didnae get fit. Zander and Andy look good together but should have had a chance weeks ago.....and for us to collapse as we did was embarrasing. We should finish top 4 on what I have seen this season so far but I hardly think that should be either acceptable or the limit of our ambition despite what folk say.
  3. one day we will sign a player we need.......one day
  4. I don't know where to start with this shambles..........Egypt would probably be the best place but I have to go to bed so I'll save the rant for Kev and Eilidh on the way up tomorrow
  5. maybe if he is injured it will force JC to play Seve in midfield.......then again maybe not
  6. make sure the guy with the megaphone knows more than one song
  7. kids don't have the same interest/loyalty to scottish football they used to have. Loads of other distractions and cheaper/better value entertainment blah blah blah plus all yir white settlers (sic)
  8. would guess as there will be 3000 extra away fans we'll have about 16,000 at the game on Sunday. Sad fact is that nae cunt in Aberdeen (slight over generalisation I know) gies a shit. There isn't a massive population of dandies out there to entice back, other than for a big game (last day deciders, cup finals...ha..etc). As for the hearts game the shite result/performance/tactics/team line-up from the previous week won't have helped. Oh and we had about 5400 at Tannadice, dunno where this 6500 constantly comes from
  9. Enjoyed listening to McGhee yesterday. Thought he was bang on with his comments about how a club like Aberdeen should at least be AIMING to challenge the old firm as you cant just continually go for 3rd place. There has to be improvement and ambition shown at some point. watch it, you'll be accused of living in the past soon.
  10. perhaps if were fucking organised pre season and didn't have a shambles of a tour as per usual we might be doing better.
  11. two words Jimmy Calderwood another two: Tactical Tombola another two: Seve defence Another two: utter shite a final two: same old
  12. GayUASC hee hee fucking hoors poofs and junkies!
  13. falkirk couldnae fill their wee stadium for Ajax. Doubt we could fill our medium sized stadium for them
  14. Robert Kilroy he's our friend he's our friend he's our friend Robert Kilroy he's our friend He hates Arabs
  15. road top? Is this another americanism that I am missing? Do you mean away top? If so then it is the same as last season:
  16. if we could make money from (hearts allegedly made £1M, but with a 60,000 crowd) then as long as it didn't disrupt our proper pre-season too much it would be silly not to try and squeeze it in. But if the benefits are negligible, financially I'd rather we played games that will prepare us better for the whole season ahead.
  17. Inverurie Locos 0 Aberdeen 6 Maguire (14, 31), Kurrant (25), Brewster (52, 75), Paton (81) Aberdeen started the game strongly as Brewster headed over in the opening minute and Derek Young had a shot turned round the post five minutes later. The Dons should have gone ahead in the 11th minute when a clever free kick from Maguire found Brewster unmarked at the far post. Unfortunately the veteran striker headed wide, but three minutes later the Dons then went in front. Maguire was pulled down outside the box and the youngster dusted himself down and hit a right-footed shot into the top left hand corner of the net. Inverurie are a decent side and they rallied well forcing Kelly into a fine save and flashing a header inches wide from a corner kick. However it was the Dons who doubled their advantage in the 25th minute. Maguire went on a run into the Locos box but lost possession and as the ball broke to Kurrant on the edge of the box he swept it into the net with the side of his foot. Six minutes later Kurrant released Brewster and his cross from the left was controlled by Maguire and fired home for a 3-0 advantage. Maguire headed a Smith cross over the bar two minutes later as he chased his hat trick and the keeper did well to deny Kurrant in the 39th minute. The Dons finished the half on top and had produced a fine performance against a good team.
  18. hope he has a good season, and gets a chance up front a bit more often
  19. Problem is they will expect a huge up front fee. I'd rather we sorted out a decent pre-season, that will set us up for the season, rather than pimping ourselves to some company so we can be mobile cones for barca's evening training
  20. Still tickets for our end available Get them bought and lets pack their shitty little stands :ultras: :ultras: :ultras:
