  1. See, I am excited. I don't expect anything less than a good beating, but as long as we score, I'll be happy. Lets face it, we have a miniscule budget/squad in comparison to them so we may as well enjoy them being here. Who knows when we'll be able to see players of their calibre grace the home turf at Pittodrie, and some of us may even be lucky enough to visit one of the greatest new stadia in the world. We should be proud of the team that they have reached this far due to the aforementioned reasons. I'm not bothered if we lose. I'm just happy to be a part of the European dream. Let's all just have a great time, get behind the team, and who knows what might happen. There is absolutely no pressure on the team. Come on you Reds!!! :AFC2::beers::thumbsup:

  2. My fav subject is the way milne has brought this club down

All other rich chairmen plough money into there clubs you only need to look at

    thompson at utd

    brooks at gretna

    murray at rangers

    romanov at hearts etc etc

Sure it might not have done them all good but at least it brought some excitment to the clubs

milne has all these millions and i dont go along with the crap we must be self financing he at least could pay off our debt.

Answer this if you had a salary of over 2 million a year plus millions in the bank would you put something into the team you love..

milne = greedy bastard and i hate him but getting a replacement seems to big a job for aberdeen

why cant we look at some of the oil companies there must be money there even if its just sponsorship

or maybe donald trump might be interested as he is desparate to please the aberdeenshire community (you dont know till you ask)

Probably in a years time he will sponsor dundee or dundee utd and when asked why not aberdeen he will say they never asked  ;D

I agree with that. No harm in asking. You don't ask, you don't get. Quite simple really.

  3. Totally, cts, great post. If I didn't wake up feeling like that already, I certainly feel like that now. Not sure about the Bayern bit, but that aside, spot on. Calderwood needs until the end of the season, but he doesn't make things easy for himself, when I think the team near enough picks itself. Its almost as though he tinkers around to be seen to do something. Anyway, fuck the cup run, we need to focus on the league. I won't shed a tear losing to Celtic in the cup. Would much rather push up the league as I think our league form will suffer further if we remain in the competition. As you said, we just simply do not have the depth.

But here's to a good week and lets get fired up and enjoy what we have ahead of us. Come on you Reds!

  4. Totally agree! This will probably be one of the worst birthday's i've witnessed (not being in Bayern) but then come march, I get to have a flying lesson.. Whoop whoop  The sooner feb is over the better! Still, I'm looking forward to seeing some world class players grace the Pittodrie pitch.

  5. Sounds awful familiar. Has Foster officially now become the new Chris Clark?!?!

I like the look of Walker. He's just a kid, but he does look like he has the ability. Plainly not up to pace with first team football yet though. I also don't think he got enough help from his midfield partner today...

Maguire needs to go on loan to the first division. Same as so many of our failed youngsters before him, he'd really benefit from being able to play every week in an environment that'd toughen him up.

 Can't agree more. Though not sure about Foster. I don't know if he's got the potential. Seems to have returned to the rubbish he was pre last season. But can't be helped being moved from position to position all the time.

  6. As I said previously. I wonder what Maguires purpose is. Is it to promote bleach blonde hair? Certainly plays like a hairdresser. Although thats harsh to haridressers, as at least they are quite cutting  ;). But the jury is still out on Walker. Only played 3 first XI games for us so far. Didn't really notice him apart from a few decent balls in, having a shot (though wild was good to see he was willing) and giving away a penalty. He's a young lad, we'll see what happens with him.

Foster, well we've been over him so much there's no point in discussing it further.

  7. My thoughts exactly. But a sure fire way of making a player start looking for another club.  Especially after signing his new contract. Im a firm believer that a captain should be in defence anyway. (Not as a make do player, but a proper one).

Spot on. I've always felt that a defender will be able to see the whole game, if not the keeper. Was Schmeichal not captain for united sometimes? The only thing is, it may come too early for him. But he's certainly been the standout player this season.

  8. I suppose so, but we were talking about this in the pub today. The last decent game he's had, was against the huns in May. Thats a long time to be absolutely atrocious. And even prior to that, he's hardly stepped up to the plate has he. He's been near enough rotten for a season and a half. Its not good enough for someone who is "captain" of our club. I appreciate I may be being harsh here, but I'm just fed up.

  9. Thats not his responsiblity is it? I honestly think, and i'm sure everyone has thought, the club needs clearing out in the way it is being run. I don't think anyone behind the scenes is doing their job properly. From as you said, bringing in decent sponsors (although hopefully with us being in Europe will give us a bit more bargaining power) right down to players contracts and marketing. It is a joke.

  10. I thought his way of dealing with the gaping hole in the middle of defence once Anderson left was to make Severin captain and force him to play out of position in defence.

It was, but then that left us short in the midfield and so on and so on. Vicious circle really. But I've actually lost patience with Severin. He offers us absolutely nothing even when in position.

  11. I don't think Milne would do it anyway. I'll never forget the post Copenhagen dressing room shot, and the commentators were on about wonder if he'll give any money now...Hibs fan I was with today even brought up "Toaster gate". :-[ But if he is in it for the money, he's in the wrong business i'm afraid. I wouldn't chuck millions at Aberdeen, especially with the board thats there.

I think we should just accept that this is the best form of leadership we're going to get in the foreseeable future. As someone said, better the devil you know and all that...

  12. I agree, he should have dealt with this issue the moment he know Anderson was leaving. But no. He didn't. And this is why we are in the predicament we're in. But now is as good of a time as any to FINALLY get this sorted. Because we've been unsettled at the back, it has a terrible effect on the rest of the team. If anyone can see it, why can't Jimmy.

To be honest, I thought that Nicholson wasn't too bad today, but as soon as he went off, I knew the game was lost. We actually attacked Smeltic when he was on. Then he went off and we were incapable of doing very much. I also do think the players have given up. The ones who are leaving (Miller, Lovell and Nicholson, especially Nicholson) are probably resigned to the fact that they have a manager (and I use the word losely) who has no clue how to manage. I think a seagul would do better. At least they attack (albeit it chips and people's heads). Please bear in mind, i was not an anti-jimmy person, but i'm coming round to the idea. I worry he has taken us as far as he can and its a slippery slope down.

Anyway, as I've said before, the sooner we're out of th Uefa cup, the better. We need to get this sorted Jimmy, Come on. Stop complaing and get the job done.

  13. That was absolutely atrocious (2nd 1/2). The first half, we were playing ok, and should have taken our chances.

    Mackie, please, gtf.

Foster, gtf. Even a mate who was with me (who doesn't know much about football) said he was having an absolute mare.

Sevi, please take a running jump.

Maguire, what is your purpose, you can't even control a simple pass.

I think he needs to keep the same back four. they need time to gel. That wasn't the worst defensive performance. But we have no midfield so I think that piles on the pressure on any defence we have.

I know this is all just general non sensical rubbish but i'm actually lost for words. Worst part is, I predicted 1-5, so why I didn't put a wager on i'll never know...I'm just so disappointed right now.

  14. I see the Jambo cunts are winning and as are Caley Thistle. Does this mean Thistle overtake us in the league? At least the Arabs drew with Hibs!
