  1. Did Killie manage to get Seve yet?
  2. This eclipses the £200K for Chris Clark event. Any news on Jim Paterson yet ?
  3. Is anyone else a little depressed that the main excitement this transfer window for us is whether we manage to SELL a player ? Someone on Mad saying Sky reporting McLean hoping to get out of his contract with Plymouth to sign for us. I fucking hate the tarnsfer window :hammer: :hammer:
  4. Don't think Celtic could agree a fee with them for McDonald.
  5. Good point, although both Mackie and FF seemed to be deploying the 'lean backwards and fall over 'cos the defender isn't willing to keep you up' tactic against Hearts. I think FF might have won the free kick for Young to score when he did it.
  6. Stewart would be like Mark Kerr with goals in him and a bit of passion. He is a decent player but his petulance would have to be tempered. We are going to need a penalty taker now.
  7. From the BBC transfer Day section:
  8. Was probably always going to be a pre-contract with JoB so nothing new there. Hopefully without Miller or Wright on the books we will be forced to play football on the deck. I'm clutching at silver linings here....
  9. There will still be Dons fans who employ the 'sit where you like' strategy. They are often too drunk to give a fuck or be able to find the right seat.
  10. If they are not allocating seats for the Raith end I wonder if that means they anticipate Dons fans in there and would want to keep them together. They have made it as easy as possible for away fans to buy in the home end. I know there are a few have bought in there already, depsite our end not selling out yet.

    Andy Murray

I thought Murray blew it in the 3rd set. He had given himself several opportunities to close out the set and might have had a chance at a stirring come back but was not able to deliver on some very simple shots. There were a couple of points in the tie break where he had done all the hard work, got Federer out into the corners with some very good angle shots and he only had to get the ball over the net and the set was his. He blew it. Yes Federer was playing superb tennis and it was a major challenge for Murray but to get yourself into those positions and not deliver the basics is the problem here. Its about mental strength as well as technical ability and when the mental strength breaks down there is only one word to describe it.......
  12. .....and with such a cunning grasp of grammar too
  13. Would imagine a fair number of those will have been snapped up by ST holders and supporters clubs. I'd be surprised if there are much more than 1,000 available public sale.
  14. Classic example, yet again, of our players getting too carried away with themselves after a great win. The Hearts game was the best I've seen us play since Copenhagen and a huge result. We have all been guilty of getting overly excited about it but the players have to remain professional and didn't. They went into that game the same way as they did after beating Rangers, like the job was done before the game started and the result is a thumping by an average side as it was against Celtic. Really disappointed.
  15. Can't be. Coke is banned for this game.
  16. Links Street is pretty rough right enough. Sure there will be a decent presence of OB in that area on the day.
  17. If he was able to manage them how he wanted to then he might at least stabilise them and have a half decent attempt at credibility so in that sense you would be right. However, we know (and he should too) that he will not get that opportunity, he will be undermined and pissed about at every turn by an owner and his merry band of lunatics and left to look like an utter tool within the first 6 months of his tenure.
  18. Apparently its only a nightclub now.
  19. Raith = huns anyway so we are in agreement
  20. Jefferies has to be either desperate or insane to take that job. What the fuck is he thinking. Any credibility he may have had will be pissed away in a matter of weeks by the antics of that lunatic Romanov. He should have had a chat with Jim Duffy before taking the job.
  21. His comments yesterday about signings (or lack of) may have been the last straw for an owner who can't tolerate disobedience. Its ridiculous the position these people get put into by that man but hilarious nonetheless.
  22. Laszlo Raped by the Dandies.
  23. No, but lets be honest, if this squad want to emulate Fergies squad then they are going to have to go the extra mile in some area as there is a VERY BIG drop off on the pitch to be made up.
  24. I think we have to be clear about what we are looking for from Miller. He seems pretty effective at holding up play and distributing ball on the deck. He is not terribly effective at directing headers to other strikers though, although he can win ball in the air. He is not a prolific goalscorer and that is the bit that we have to either come to terms with and find a place in the team for it or get rid. Having watched the way McGhee seems to want us to play (and I am rubbish at this stuff as I'm usually too pissed at games to focus on formations etc) we are lookign for the goals and direct attacking play to come from the angles through the likes of Paton, Aluko, Maguire and Mackie. Similar to what Hibs do with Riordan and Stokes. Very few teams have an out-and-out penalty box striker these days, the forward roles have a different requirement. When Miller is not in the position of winning through balls and holding the ball up then I think we struggle to break down defences that are content to play soak and counter football. For this reason I would keep him but put the expectation onto others to deliver goals.
