Hibs sack PA announcer after ‘Taxman’ aired at Easter Road Published on Tuesday 13 November 2012 00:11 HIBERNIAN have sacked their stadium announcer following the weekend playing of a Beatles song that teased city rivals Hearts over the financial worries that could see them go out of business within days. The Easter Road club made their decision after some Hearts supporters took offence at the tongue-in-cheek airing of the Fab Four’s Taxman at half-time in Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Dundee United. The track was played in reference to Hearts’ struggles to save their club from the clutches of a winding-up order issued by Hmrc over an unpaid £450,000 PAYE, National Insurance and VAT bill. Hibs officials ensured the 1966 release from the Revolver album was cut short but, as far as the PA master of ceremonies is concerned, the move came too late. A Hibs spokesman said the record had not been sanctioned to be aired by the club and added: “The stadium announcer’s contract has been terminated following a breach of conduct.”

no keepers in the spl are "good enough" bar maybe Forster. The standard of keepers in the league even compared to a couple of years ago has gone rapidly downhill. We've not only kept the same keeper, but he's upped his game in general so that we're actually relatively much better off than we used to be. this boils down to people setting their stall out in respect of expressing a particular opinion, then stubbornly refusing to accept the validity of new evidence to the contrary. Exactly the same was true with Bebo and it's immensely boring. When Clangers, makes a mistake (as all keepers do now and then), like on the opening day of the season, I don't hide from the fact that it's a fuck up and it's one for the detractors to pounce on, but I equally don't make OTT generalisations like folk who suggest that we're fucked with him in goals. We have a team on the pitch that fully deserve our support this year and he's a massive part of that. A new first choice keeper is important for the longer term but it is far from a priority. We need a RB and a striker.

OF-colt teams would just mean that clubs like us don't get any talented youngsters at all because the dicks will need an extra squad full of em. the fact that the sfa are coming out with proposals timed to accommodate an expected return to the top for rangers, and that rely on the assumption that a rangers team has a god-given right to play at the top (and then get preferential treatment along with their sisters) shows how essential it is that all the great work campaigning for the huns to start at the bottom rather than be shoehorned straight in is not allowed to go to waste. we were proved absolutely right in what we called for re newco, so the fans must make sure our voices are heard again.

It's fair enough that Fed gets support because he's loved all over, but in the Olympics and Wimbledon the crowd were supportive of both. last night was the worst I've heard it for a few years now in terms of being openly hostile to the 'home' player.
