    Buying a hoose

Show me where I said anything about me or anyone being more intelligent these days. I've had a roof over my head for years which I've supported myself. ??? Aye all those things cost peanuts. But all that mounts up. Buying it on a credit card isn't much help unless you don't have to pay it back. I think it's you that's not listening. I don't doubt Kitchens can be procured cheaply but cheap isn't fucking free and it still needs to be paid. As I've said all those expenses which are "peanuts" will mount up and when you're paying a mortgage and the rest of your bills it's not that straight forward. Not saying it's impossible but with me having zero experience with renovations I wouldn't like to take on a huge amount of work when I'd just be winging it with next to no money if things go tits up. That's being sensible if you ask me. You can fuck off with all the patronising iPhone nonsense. I don't have the latest iPhone or iPad. Should I use my saving to get up to date ones? I could cut out away games but I don't go to them any more anyway so that would be largely ineffectual on my finances. And I don't think I've ever spent more than £50-£60 on an away day.

    Snooker

Aye it was sad to hear that Hendry had retired although not surprising. Indeed the greatest player ever to have played. Now here's where I maybe show a little naivety. Why is Hendry not as good as he always was? It can't be a physical factor that comes with getting older can it? It's not the most strenuous of sports. So it must be a mental thing? Lack of hunger to succeed? Really not sure but it's a shame.

You're telling me stuff I already know. I'm fully aware of the difference between decoration and renovation. Indeed decorating is something that's going to happen anyway but renovation, no matter what experiences you had requires money. You might have been lucky enough to get a shit load of floor boards for a good price so lucky you but If I have my mortgage to pay I also have to buy all the bits and pieces for renovating (and decorating eventually) and I also have to save for a new kitchen and/or bathroom. I'm sorry min but that's just not realistic. Not for me anyway. Maybe you were on a higher wage when you get yer hoose? Nae sure but if it was just a case of working hard then it wouldn't be a problem. More than happy (as I have been my whole life bar a dodgy spell in 2004) to work hard and do whatever I can myself. Cars for example. Rarely does my car go to a garage if it needs work done because I get off my arse, work hard, learn about them and do it my fucking self which has probably saved me thousands of pounds over the years. Again.. it irks me that people think I want an easy ride. My point all along (as Amp has also said) is that the goal posts have changed recently making it more difficult than it's ever been.
  8. Well I haven't been since August so it's not going to Anfield! It might do next season though. Fucking SPL.

I appreciate the effort, Andrew and I'm very pleased that you've found me a property that has sanitation facilities. I will take it into consideration.
  10. One thing's for sure.. at least we'll finally get rid of this nonsensical split.
  11. It was painful but yes. All 15 minutes.
  12. Fit's that got to do with the price of fish?
  13. I was saying to my mate that I can see him ending up at Hibs although he's publicly expressed his desire to remain in England. Hibs then.
  14. Diamond leaves Oldham by mutual consent. Cue the AFC football club return rumours.

Absolutely. Some of you seem to think it's like putting together a kinder egg toy or something.
  16. Those two videos have done more in 15 minutes to drive me away from "Scottish football" than AFC Football Club's ineptitude over the last 15 seasons has done.

    Buying a hoose

Skilled or not skilled I'm not sure but I've got next to no experience of building anything let alone kitchens and experience is useful when it comes to those sort of things.
  18. No doubt there are many like that. But I have one mate who's followed them for years so I won't begrudge him a Man City title!
  19. Permanent.
  20. Letting them back in after seeing (very clearly) the thoughts of all fans is a massive kick in the balls for all us long suffering fans that have endured Scottish Fitba for the last 2 decades. Fuck it.

What absolute nonsense. If that was fishing it worked. I was specifically looking at properties that required renovation for the very reasons you specified. (Have you seen the way half the hooses oot there are decorated?) I'm more than willing to do any work that I can and roughing it isn't a problem (you should see my current abode). But I'd require finance to carry out major work because as willing as I am to put in a shift I wouldn't be able to install a kitchen or bathroom for example. I'm not saying it's rocket science but it's something that you'd need experience to do well. I'd want/need work done to a professional standard which requires money. If I can't get that money then I can't renovate? Simple. This was advice given to me by a mortgage advisor. Hence "apparently". I did find it strange because I thought it was a good idea especially for a first time buyer. You buy the house cheap because it needs work, do the work on as tight a budget as you can and when finished the house is potentially worth more than what you've spent on it. I know it wont work out like that on every property but these are the lines that I was thinking along. It irks me that people think I want a free ride. If my parents taught me anything over the years it's the value of money and the hard work required to earn it. Hence I've been in employment constantly since I was 16 and I'm sure many of you are the same. I feel I've had a good attitude throughout my so far short but fast paced house-hunt, being realistic with figures and obviously having done my homework on mortgages to the apparent surprise of the mortgage advisers that I've spoken to. I don't think I need to be spoken down to from a higher rung of the property ladder by any of you older folk!
