  1. Like any player for Aberdeen wants to play at the Cow Shed...
  2. As long as someone continues to monitor this so we can post it when its done... Please?
  3. Russell's going... Stevie's going... Seve's going... Langfield's going... Congratulations, we have made it to Europe and the scouts of the world are finally taking notice. Speculation talk is what you get when you are a small market club with talented players and some debt. It's made worse when your recent history backs up that your club sells its best assets to fight off the wolves (creditors). Let's not get too carried away in things here though. Like the saying says "you can't step into the same river twice". I'm not so sure our debt is as bad as it was in 2002; I seem to recall we've had a couple of profitable seasons in there even though I have a hunch we lost money this season (not sure when the report comes out on that but I'd think it would be soon). We also have a very passionate former player in the front office in Willie Miller now. I would hope his voice would be heard by the right people and keep our better players for progress. I'd like to think that the club have the view that this time we didn't sneak into Europe. The spot was our's to lose and we qualified on merit. That changes your outlook. You can operate with thoughts of extra home games, TV revenue, moderate but increased exposure to increase strip & souvenir sales, etc. So I don't think the v But we the fans have an obligation here too. The last time we qualified for Europe, and I remember it well, the home leg of our first qualifier was grossly underattended. 9894 were in the stands to see the Dons play Nistru Otaci. OK yes they were a relatively unknown club but THIS WAS EUROPE!! 10180 attended the home half against Hertha Berlin. A club that has some international reputation. 2 games at less than 50% of our stadium. Not too intimidating is it? What I'm saying is that it looked like we didn't care about Europe 5 years ago. Do we care now? We certainly have a team worth following and that should get to the group stage at least! Are we going to go with the attitude of "I'll go IF they qualify for the group stage" or "HELL YEAH, I AM the 12TH MAN"! The draw is on June 29th, Let's be behind our team no matter who they face. STAND FREE!
  4. Please god let JC WM and Wiggy see this as being what it is and not let the captain away! (where's the prayer emoticon?)
  5. Hmmm £1M now, or £3 over the next 3 seasons frmo sustained runs in Europe, domestic cups, etc... Wiggy, look at the Numbers!
  6. AGAIN!!! FFS - 2002 all over. Where's Leon Mike & Laurent D'Jaffo?
  7. Then he can FIK OFF!!!
  8. Cracking stuff! I'm sending that to the North American Dons Supporters list! Well done
  9. That one works well for me! Unfortunately we probably couldn't meet his wage demand.
  10. Let's hope for the former!
  11. Well Said GS.
  12. OF Get Tae Fik!
  13. Reekie, yer thoughts please. If the Dons fail again in the 07/08 Domestic Cups, will there be trouble for JC?
  14. Only improvement is to get to either the CIS or Scottish Cup Final? NL, I look forward to seeing your "I'm pleasantly surprised" posts.
  15. Lads it is a long off season. Trust me Langfield will be in the cage in July. Appologies will be made and lines will be toed...
  16. LIke I said; hope he proves me wrong. I'd like nothing better then to be sickened at the phrase: "And Fik Flicks another goal for Aberdeen"!!
  17. My take is that until otherwise stated Anderson is here. I cannot see them transferring the Captain. Even if it is for "Stupid Money", the club braintrust know that to send Russell out will mean a fan exodus the like of which has not been seen since Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt. My expectations for 2007-2008: League: challenge for 2nd CIS: Semifinalist Scottish: Semifinalist Europe: Group Stage The extra money from transferring Anderson will pale in comparison to a sustained income from improvement.
  18. FREE COFFEE??!! Where do I bring my mug?
  19. He's been signed on a pro contract though, unlike Daal. He played amateur football for family reasons in Holland so he is obviously able to play at a higher standard (or at least he did once). Anyway, he will be on a fairly low wage, and as a replacement for Brewster, we'd be unlikely to get a Scottish player on the same wages who was semi-decent. Time will tell whether he is or not, but have some optimism and back the lad! OK Sneckie, I'll give him his chance first. If he starts potting them in buckets, I'll probably be one of those "see I knew it all the time" types anyway.
  20. I agree; McNamara is not the replacement. He's an addition. A well justified addition.
  21. A good place for Daal; the Saints will do well by him.
  22. Clarification on my thoughts on Fik... I was going on his numbers but an amateur? again?
  23. Sorry lads, I just canna get excited about another Amateur Signing. Not that I don't hope he proves me wrong...
  24. NOT without a solid replacement Reekie! As a coach, one builds their team from the back. To remove Anderson without a very solid replacement would see the entire team suffer.
  25. I wonder if McAuley would fit in at Ross County?
