He's missed FAR FAR FAR too many efforts to call himself an SPL-standard striker. The only players I think are worth keeping are: Langfield, Diamond, Severin, Lovell, Walker, Aluko and Jamie Smith. My own memories of Maybury are enough to believe we should sign him in the summer. But I may be wrong based on what I read about him from the Killie match. The rest ... they can all fuck off!

Of course I don't have a copy of JC's contract on my computer. But I remember at the time of the contract being signed that there was an article (i've done a search, but can't find the article) with a quote from JC basically saying he agreed to sign after it was agreed that, if the season took a turn for the worst, his job would not be on the line.

He's got to go. Killie went 15 games without a win before Sunday's match. Unfortunately, in all competitions, we have only won four matches in EIGHTEEN since beating Copenhagen. Those results have come against, St Mirren, Hamilton, Falkirk and Inverness. In these eighteen matches, yes we have scored 16 goals (I refuse to count Alan Combe's annual comedy gala moment as one of our goals). But we have lost 31!!!!! Thirtyone goals lost in eighteen games??? That's embarassing. I'm sorry, but ever since JC signed his new contract, he has had a half-arsed attitude. I was always very wary of him ever since I read that his new contract basically has a clause in it removing all blame from him and his management team, should this season go pear-shaped! Who the fuck agreed to write that in his contract????? Effectively, he could actually not turn up to work for the remainder of the season, we could lose every single match. We could play Langfield and Soutar upfront and have Aluko serving pies from the pie-stand. But Calderwood's contract basically removes all blame from him!!! Utter shambles. I'm sorry Willie Miller, but you have to bite the bullet and get rid of JC and his henchmen NOW. Give the new man (please Mark McGhee, please Mark McGhee) some time to get to know his squad in the remaining fixtures, now that relegation is out of the question (please tell me relegation is out of the question???!!!). We've seen that the squad is capable of doing the business. They just don't have any sort of motivation or guiding figure, two characteristics that a manager should display at all times, yet Calderwood is clearly not showing these. So ... demonstration time? Is it that time of year already when the red army camps outside Pittodrie and demands change? Lets do it!!!

I think the fact that we're now out of both the CIS and the UEFA is a bit of a blessing, as we will no longer have the fixture-pileup that we've had over the past few months. The squad needs a rest. With a fully-rested squad, I think we could push for third place quite easily.

Oh well. What can we say. Didn't think our away record was going to be bucked today. But hey, it's nae Kilmarnock we were playing ... it's BAYERN MUNICH! Probably between them and Dnipro as favourites for the cup when the whole tournament began. When I found out we were playing them in the last 32, i was thinking 5-0 at home and 6-0 away. To come out of this two-legged tie with a final score of 7-3 is by no means embarassing. They are probably the strongest team in the last 32. We are EASILY the weakest team in the last 32. Well done Dons. Thankyou for giving the fans something to be excited about this season. The fans have had wonderful trips to Madrid and Munich, and those fans who are too young to remember the Gothenburg years have been given their own piece of folklore to take with them in the results over Dnipro and Copenhagen. I just hope we can find a way back into next season's cup.

Fuckin right! I'm watchin a game at Pittodrie. I dinnae want to hear the veritable ghost-town that is the "away end" when Hearts come to town with their two-and-a-half songs. I want the mics to be placed at either end of the ground ... one above the RDU and one above the Merkland end of the South Stand. I wanna hear the two ends of Pittodrie sing to each other ... it's a fuckin awesome sound when you hear it. Unfortunately, these days, you need to actually go to Pittodrie to hear it. Cos on TV, all you ever hear is the away end. They really should switch the cameras so they're pointing towards the South Stand. That main stand looks fuckin aweful on TV

Perhaps it was just TV-fortune that he wasnae as prominent as you say he was. Much like the positioning of the microphones at Pittodrie over the Rangers fans, rather than in the RDS

I was surprised as hell to see the entire game being played LIVE on ESPN in New Zealand. Fuckin dancer!!!!! First Dons match I've seen live for about two and a half years. I thought Mackie was impressive. He seems to have gained the confidence to do little flicks and backheels that kept beating the Bayern defenders time and time again. Nae his fault that his fellow players kept straying into offside positions. VERY impressed with Aluko and Walker. Aluko especially! ESPN gave him the man-of-the-match hands down. A worrying sign that McLeish was in the stands. I just hope he doesnae recall Aluko early after seeing this performance. Langfield was impressive, and extremely unlucky with the rebound from the penalty. One person I was very very unimpressed with was Severin. He did absolutely FUCKALL! For being the club captain and arguably our best player in his first and second seasons with us, he was virtually anonymous. The first time I even noticed he was on the pitch, the match clock was sitting around 75 minutes. If he can't get motivated for a match against the 7th biggest club in the world ... then we might as well cut our losses and chuck him on the transfer list in the summer.

Whenever I hear about loan signings ... all I can think of is Tony Warner. The most useless goalie we've ever had. I think even Soutar is better than he was!

Archie's responsible for a number of commentary nuggets. "And the Rangers defence are ossified" - who the fuck watching Scotsport knows what ossified means, Archie?? "And here comes the cavalry" - in a 1-1 draw with Rangers, Archie commented on the amazing power and control from our defensive dynamic duo of ... wait for it ... Derek Whyte and John Inglis.
