  1. Aye, that's a cracking record. Doesn't quite beat the original, but it's fantastic. The cover of Madonna's 'Stay' is good too. His new album Waxing Gibbous is fantastic though. There's a wee documentary on his website.
  2. Got to love the Celebrity Deaths commentary there.
  3. Oh, there's another one. Who had Swayze?
  4. Was it Alex Miller who claimed to have turned down Trezeguet and Henry?
  5. Hardly a great way to endear yourself to any potential buyers though is it?
  6. The wife's from Detroit Lakes so she wanted to move closer to family. She's more of a baseball fan but I have been watching the Wild a bit. They've got a new coach this year, so expectations are pretty high. I guess the Wild's fanbase is pretty loyal, every game is sold out.
  7. Not a bad idea. But they'd probably wear all sorts of armour.
  8. I do. It's different here, almost at times a completely different game. From my experience the referees are much worse, to the extent that it's not even a contact sport. No slide tackles etc and that's outdoor.
  9. Wasting members of your own team isn't a good winning strategy.
  10. What if we got someone like the loon at Aston Villa? Billions of dollars, but largely stays out of the day to day running of the club. Who's to say that some "American twat" wouldn't do the same with us? Next time Trump arrives in Dyce someone should offer him a ticket for Pittodrie. Maybe he'll hand over a cheque for a couple hundred million when he buys his Pittodrie pie at half time...
  11. Unfortunately we play in the same team.
  12. He did have a spell as u-21 coach did he not? Not that I want him as coach... It's funny isn't it - the weegie press never make the link that Alex Smith was only ever successful when Jockie Scott was there too. Unless I'm mistaken.
  13. Perhaps. Should we decide to axe Mr Burley I'd prefer someone who doesn't have their eye on using Scotland as a stepping stone. So, Strachan is out because he'd walk as soon as a Premiership team offered him a gig. Which makes me think that Burley should stay on. He clearly wants the job, is unlikely to walk out. I guess it depends what Calderwood and Levein want. I imagine that Levein would still like to go back to England and Jimmy would probably like to give it a go as well. Or knowing Jimmy he probably 'passed' on the Real Madrid job this summer.
  14. Alright, I'm Jarviescombover. I've been a member of DonsTalk since 2003 but I've not used it for a number of years. I used to live in Aberdeen but have just moved to St Paul, Minnesota. It's a nice place to live, but pretty chilly in the winter (-40 odd). My first Aberdeen game was at East End Park to watch the Dons Vs Dunfermline in the 91/92 season (I think) which finished in a 0-0 draw. I play every Tuesday for a 6-aside team in Minneapolis. A couple of decent lads, some real baw bags though.
  15. Latest offering from Malcolm Middleton. Top stuff.
  16. Sorry if it's all ready been posted before... http://www.oktober.no/nor/boeker/skjoennlitteratur/romaner_noveller/31_aar_paa_gress
  17. Right, I'm going to hold my hands up and say I've not been to a game in a year. As a result I'll defer to those who regularly attend. However, who are we kidding? Who do we seriously think is going to take the job and do a better task than Calderwood? Furthermore, who's going to buy the club of Milne?
  18. To be honest, since I moved down to London a couple of years back... not as much. I regularly go to watch Aberdeen games in the Rob Roy and I'll try and listen to the Dons on the radio. But to be honest... Do I still enjoy it? That's a different matter altogether.
