  1. I ain't holding my breath put it that way. If its a good experienced loan deal, fine. If its another kid then forget it. give Mitch a chance. ain't no point o having a youth system and not using it. sorry Michael Paton, no offence.
  2. If he hat it first time he woulda had a better chance. You never know in football, we might have done them if we had scored but then again we might just have made them mad. Just a shame the first half was so poor. We could have won it then.
  3. Everyone seems to fecked off we the way the SPL is just now. So how can we change it. Personally I would love to see it getting back to basics. So many players must belong to your region. IE, Since we are Aberdeeen, At least a majority of ( dont know how many) must come from your home area. Every region should be subjected by the SPL. You cannae sell players until they have reached a certain age (to avoid selling tae the auld firm or abroad for cheap prices and help their training at the club) So many Under 21s (or less) must be in the squad (again undecided numbers) Only a certain amount of overseseas players (UK included) And a wage budget that ALL SPL teams must work under that you cannot go over. OK its a very basic outline but just shootin a few feelers out there. Obviously there are a lot of complications and FIFA would have a field day but there are some basics that surely could help get the SPL and Scottish football get better. I dont know really, its all a bit fantasy but Scottish club fitba is the worse I have seen it in my 30years. Change is due.
  4. Put it this way, he scores against der huns, he's a hero. Maybe for a few weeks but still goes down in history. Get it right up they weegie b@stards. Sick o gettin stick about how long its been since we got a win a castle greyskull. Forget everything, this is what its all about!! COYR
  5. That we have new blood in, and from all reports can cause an upset for defences unlike our punting it up the field to the strikers in hope. We have a good centre midfield and he (hopefully) can the spark that without him we would lack. With no Aluko or Maguire if we went for the other boy who is a poacher we would heve been sunk. Listen, I aint saying he is our saviour or nothing but our other options were sorely lacking. Gie the boy a chance I am sure this Omid Djalili boy will be great Ever the optimist
  6. www.delighted.com. All the best to the boy. Clearance granted, he is one of what is needed at Pittodrie. :-)
  7. Aye. Was just using the ex Dundee chairman as an example of what little chance i, or anyone, would have of taking over the dons in the unlikely event of winning the lottery. No saying he should be installed like!
  8. I doubt whether Leigh Griffiths is going to be the final piece in our jigsaw. we still need another player if not two i would say. just hope Mr Milne, the great Aberdeen fan, can see what the team is lacking and open the purse strings. speculate to accumulate and all that. I am getting fed up repeating the Milne pish. Only wish i could win the euro millions! Mind you the Dundee chairman is an Aberdeen fan and wanted to invest and got told where to go by Milne. wouldn't stand a chance.
  9. From the sun: Meanwhile the dons could be set to swoop for Algeria under 23 captain Mohamed Chalali if the striker impresses on trial next week.
  10. Surely available on the Scottishfa.co.uk website.
  11. Vladimir Romanov set to buy out Stuart Milne?
  12. I stand corrected. I thought it was after the 5,6,7 goals (in no particular order) that we leaked against the tims that season.
  13. Just wondering (being an optimist) who would be the first Aberdeen player to start the Eugene Dadi inspired celebrations at Pittodrie that happened last time we beat the tims at Pittodrie after a run of dreadful results? My money is on Clangers running fae the sidelines to start it off
  14. Sorely need a spark upfront and in midfield it sounds like. no need to panic yet though.
  15. When does the transfer window slam shut? we might hae a wee whiley to wait :-/ Be great to get a quality striker in on loan though.
  16. I see Sandaza, ex united, signed for st Johnstone. I always thought he was a pretty no bad player. Maybe i am turning senile though :-/
  17. Some chief at Stv has rated our home top as the second best in the Spl. This wouldn't be too bad if he hadn't have put the Hibs home top as the best! It is absolutely rancid in my humble opinion!
  18. Its so hard to say where we will end up. Although i do sense we might be gettin a good few no score draws this season. Being an optimist i think we should be at least in contention for Europe.
  19. We will have wir star flair striker signed up by then plus our solid defence will sort our Sheridan. ;-)
  20. Pittodrie favorite probably rules out Blackman but then again it is Charlie Allan . . . If its a flair striker then that would rule out miller :-/
  21. Well sky sports website was saying brown was confident of getting a striker in as well as a goalkeeper before Saturdays game. ex player? I will plump for Eugine Dadi :-)
  22. Mackies scoring rate isn't great. Fair play! But his game is about utilizing his pace, clever runs and making spaces for other players. As a striker you are always judged on goals but when i have seen him he makes the runs that move the centrebacks out of position and let a midfielder through into space. Its not a pretty job and sometimes he does have a shit game, but who doesn't! Maybe a slightly dodgy comparison but for a central midfielder the ability to tackle, i would say, is essential. Paul Scholes couldn't find a tackle in a fishing shop. Does that make him a Crap player? No. End of! (WARNING: - All that i have said could be pish)
  23. Any links for the game or will it be on the radio?
  24. I, like most Aberdeen fans, have gone through it all watching Mackie. And to be fair i was giving it all the 'Mackie is pish and we should get rid o him' in years gone by. But, its his home club and he loves the dons. The boy gives 100% when he is on the park and was always a very easy scapegoat for the fans. Never an awesome player but really it was just his pace that was his best asset. I think he is starting to use his brain recently and this could be a decent season for him. We could have been paying some idiots who couldn't give two monkeys about the dons a wage through the years and ended up we the same scoring ratio as Mackie. If someone put me in his shoes, to play for Aberdeen and get paid for it and the manager thought i was good enough, well happy days. You deserve your testimonial Darren! Hope its a good game for you and your family.
  25. Possibly. Who cares if we get pumped so long as we look smart lol. Right enough, can't think o many good games when we played in black and gold.
