Because anyone who disagrees with my political view - or views on religion, Milne, McInnes, films, music, art, everything - is a fucking moron. The irony of that parody will be lost on most, lost because they believe it to be found. Anyway, good post min. As Pie said so well, FUCK YOU BORIS.
-
You're right. Just watched it. Outstanding. Loved Joaquin Phoenix, both his acting and the character. The most fucked up thing I've seen for a very long time. Brilliant.
-
Yesterday. Just watched it with the youngest. Great fun. Feelgood. Robert Carlyle's cameo as John Lennon was wow.
-
Wow. That never crossed my mind. Now that you say it, I don't think it was mis-cast. It was definitely mis-titled though. Why the fuck did they need an Irishman anywhere near the story? De Niro made that film in my opinion. Without him, the whole thing wouldn't have been worth watching despite excellent performances by others, Pacino, Pesci and the Brit hitting their spots perfectly. It was intended as an epic, I'm sure (given the richness of the whole cast) but the only epic thing for me was the genius of De Niro. It was tragic overall, but a very intelligent reflection on the consequences of crime. I think I just convinced myself to raise the bar from 6/10 to 7.

If any of you vote Tory tomorrow, I wish you cancer and much pain. Scotland doesn't need ignorant stupid gullible cunts like you. The majority of Englishmen will vote Tory but they're fucking stupid and gullible by default, being English. It's a cynical ploy by Boris et al to "get Brexit done" and their lies won't be seen by the majority of their country, the lack of a free press and selective investigative journalism helping to obfuscate truth. Even though I want out of the EU and to delete another level of government and corruption, I would never vote Tory for that end. The biggest sick joke in all this is that there has never been anything preventing the government from doing its job for the whole of this decade. They've been using Brexit as an excuse for their inexcusable agenda the whole time.

I'm not sure that "knowing any receptionists" would be a fruitful exercise. They're mostly below average on the intellect scale and unlike the Arabs and muslims - the Saudi's being the current topic of debate in the boxing and golf world - I don't dig the suppression and the subjugation of the fairer sex. It's not just them of course. The white trash in the UK aren't afraid to abuse their wives and whilst they don't have the state behind them to institutionalise their oppression, their sickness comes from the same place. Seen a documentary on that Sally somebody who battered her husband of 31 years to death with a hammer. Good on ya girl I thought. The cunt deserved it and although there was no real legal defence to help her at the time, she did get released after 8 years. I'm pretty confident that my daughters won't be attracted to an abusive man and that they're too strong to be a target for those type of sick fucks. On topic, two more visits planned to SooShe before Xmas.
-
Obviously I won't pass comment on the receptionist as she's probably your wife. I wouldn't want to upset you but she seemed a nice enough lassie. Private dentistry the only way to go. They don't perform unnecessary shit and keep us in great shape. It saves money in the long run.
-
I won't be doing that. Too fixed of mindset regarding them. His voice grates. It reminds me of who he is and what he looks like and this offends greatly. Coincidence, at Queens X Dental yesterday Coldplay were on the sounds at reception. I was the only one there so I said to the receptionist (new lassie, not seen her before), "not Coldplay". She explained it was her husband's fav band so we had a chat and a laff. I detest that band. 6 month check up and hygienist. All clear again. Thanks for asking.

Good instinct. I knew him before his political career and he is one of the most horrible and colossal cunts on the planet. He valued sycophancy from his staff. I interviewed a guy once who worked for him back in the day. Coincidentally he had been at Ibrox corporate for the 1-1 draw (Eoin Jess) in the mid 90's, a game I was at, my first and last time in Rangers corporate. Whilst most of us were getting tore in to the "Rangers champagne" at noon, Carlaw asked for sparkling mineral water, whereupon two of his table (arselicking employees) piped up with "yes, I'll have sparkling water too". My man was a manager working for Carlaw but like 99% of us, was availing himself of the free bevvy all day. Following the HT drinks and snacks and all day on the piss, apparently post-match the waitress asked their table for the drinks order and of course Carlaw was first to speak. After he asked for "a sparkling mineral water please", the guy I was interviewing (2 or 3 years later) turned to the waitress and said - suitably pissed up by now - "you better give the same to him and him an aw". He got fired that Monday. I was simply exploring the reasons for his leaving that job. I laffed and I loved his honesty. Unfortunately I couldn't give him work. His political skills and lack of diplomacy were too Scottish.

Seen The Irishman last night, the 3.5 hour Scorsese film on Netflix. Superbly acted. Robert de Niro is a phenomenal talent. Can't say too much in case you're planning to see it but overall no regrets about watching it but not a classic either. Interesting without being captivating. A different angle.

Dealing Dons Disappointment???
rocket_scientist replied to SeeBass's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
*shudders* That was my first game for over 3 years. We returned from Australia that summer in 1994. My last game before going was Ibrox in May 1991. It's never got any better since. -
I think I was right the first time. The EPL trophy is heading Anfield way and it was before December started. City getting beat at home to Man U may well be the final nail in their coffin and the biggest boost to Liverpool. 1/7 at the bookies isn't certain, nor could it be with 22 games to go but like you I wouldn't have imagined Leicester to have started so well. But they're a very good team and very well managed, as we can see not just from their skills but from their hunger and motivation. That goal that Maddison whipped in to Iheanacho was fantastic and all over the pitch, they're playing with great desire. Vardy is like a man reborn under Brenda but given the firepower that Liverpool have up front, I simply can't see them dropping enough points for the gap to be closed and I'm certain that Leicester aren't going to win every game. Their bubble almost burst v. Everton and they're going to drop points soon and with them going to Man C before Xmas and hosting Liverpool on Boxing Day, the title will either be slightly more alive or all over by the end of December,

Within minutes of Calvin Zola's debut, I turned to my mate and said "this is another George Weah's cousin". He was probably the worst "footballer" in terms of his technical ability but at least he tried. I remember watching him at Falkirk, the one game I mind where he wasn't terrible and he was getting stuck in. Hetherston was poison.
-
Hetherston was my most hated Aberdeen footballer ever. And I've been going since the 1960's. I didn't despise the fact he just wasn't very good at football. I hated the fact he used to hide. He did this to limit the public exposure of his weaknesses - and they were considerable and many - but the bigger issue was how this charlatan fuck ever got a game. I seen his debut. It was staggering because I'd never seen such a useless cunt in a red shirt.
-
These words prove to me that there's still a huge number of you who haven't seen through the small bearded charlatan. Like on the last match thread when mitigation was being offered, specifically that he had pulled off a tactical masterstroke and that attendances have been good during his tenure. What he wants and what he believes is irrelevant. He's not fit for purpose. He's a loser, a very bitter one. The only reason Kris Boyd and the wos media bum him up is that they don't want a strong AFC and under McInnes, we would never be one. He's an epsilon or zed male who's taking you all for a ride. Talking of alpha males, Drunken Disorderly Ferguson was fabulous in his first game at Everton. After that performance, they would be mad to appoint anyone else just now. He's got no experience, he's not the sharpest tool in the box but what he does have, the likes of McInnes doesn't even recognise far less possess.

I seen that banana duct tape thing on the news last night. I fail to understand what the "artist" is doing but even more ridiculous was that people paid money for it. That has got to be a piss take. The banana needs changed "every couple of days". The most absurd shite ever. It would give art a bad name but for the fact it cannot possibly be considered art.
-
This is another bugbear of mine although I fully understand the situation. I have no problem with Ryan Jack going for treble+ his wages and I don't think we should stand in the way of any of our players moving for bigger and better money. It's a short career after all and let's face it, if they have any ambition whatsoever, it's pretty obvious that AFC are going to win fuck all. I just wish the club had enough ambition to want to keep our best assets so that the contracts they're on are such that if an offer does come in, it needs to be a big one to a) tempt the player and b) compensate us properly. The bottom line is that I would have preferred a chairman who wanted to win stuff AND at least try and compete for the SPFL. The whole culture under him has never been about "the product", despite his lies in 1996.
-
Which would you recommend as the best of them, baggy? Not seen any of these yet.
-
Now it's you who hasn't been reading properly. This isn't the transference that occurs where a weak argument resorts to accusing the accuser of the same weakness that the accused himself got accused of, its fact: - I was very clear when I cautioned you to "make the distinction". This is based on previous. Most people don't like to be challenged, you possibly more than most. We got there in the end. Agreed to disagree... or more accurately, tangential language and thinking differences (and pride, remember what Marcellus said about pride) leading to total misunderstanding. Love and Peace. And McInnes oot.
-
It's strange that your account of what this amazing piece of management and tactical change actually was, wasn't consistent in your posting. It's also strange that nobody on any other AFC football forum saw either of your two accounts of what the tactical masterstroke was. Am I allowed to have an opinion? You seemed determined to pull mine apart when I expressed my opinion that it was a strange game and had the audacity to question how influential the masterstroke actually was. If it was that easy, we would be competing for the title, if one tactical change can get us beating Rangers 2-0. Calm down min.
-
I can assure you that I did read every word. It would be disingenuous not to. I said that I was happy to agree to disagree. It appears you still want to argue. Ok then. Your very first post - before you started taking my post apart, every... single... point... - alerted us to a "change in approach" which they had no answer to: - And you then explained it: - You were very strong in your argument that McInnes had made a tactical change and again you repeated that it took them by surprise: - When I pointed out that it wasn't blatantly obvious, you forgot about your earlier position re Vyner: - So the tactical masterstroke that you claim McInnes pulled off which took them by surprise and won us the last hour 2-0, I'm not sure that you're clear on what it actually was. Whatever it was that you claim "took them by surprise", I say you're over-egging as a determinant of the overall outcome. That's all.
-
I will always give credit when it's due, even to those I can't stand. I just think you're over-egging the "tactical masterstroke" and it's impact on the outcome whilst ignoring the shambles that he set out in the first half. There probably wasn't any other option than Considine at LB last night. I mentioned him simply in the context of playing people where they are most comfortable most of the time and to make the point that tactics and formations are usually more simple than complex. I'm happy to agree to disagree on our respective interpretations of that game. I just find it tragic that our once-loved football club had large sections of empty spaces for a game against them and it is my opinion that the manager's incompetence is the main reason for this.
-
I think we can be guilty of reading more into things that are actually there. If Cosgrove's attempt had deflected anywhere other than on a plate for Considine, if Lewis had got it wrong and the free kick came off the inside of his glove and into the net, if Tavernier had done better at his free kicks, if the ref had given a penalty when the contact on madre mattress was clearly on the line, we would've lost that game. Then nobody would be arguing that McInnes got it right or got lucky and guessed it right. Tactics and formations are important, of course they are but it's not a deep black art. It's actually very simple, just play people in the positions where they are best at and where they are most comfortable which by Considine's own admission in his interview, is NOT left back. What you're telling me is that McInnes is still unsure as to what his best XI is and is still experimenting, almost on a weekly basis, the same as what that brain dead cunt Calderwood used to do. Wilson would have been best not playing yesterday and somehow, McInnes thought THIS was the game to play him in! The danger of bumming up the manager, possibly for doing the obvious and rectifying his own fuck ups, is that he gets a pass. Under this charlatan midget, it will never improve so get the cunt te fuck.
-
So 15 SPFL games in and 0-2 down at home, McInnes finally works out that 3 or 4 players are better deployed in a totally different role than the one he started the game in? I don't buy that. It's all too convenient to attribute great tactical nous to our manager. The evidence of seven seasons doesn't support this view. Rangers shat the bed. Simple.
