  1. Weather update, I'm ten miles away from Killie and on the coast. There has been frost here although not exactly a severe frost. Must have come down in the early hours as no sign of frost about 11pm last night. Accept it could potentially be different in land from the coast, but still can't imagine it could be bad enough to call a game off, if they turn their fucking heating on.
  2. I'm starting to smell major shite here. There has been no rain for past couple of days. There has been no snow to speak of down here this week. There has been no serious frost for the past couple of nights, and doesn't look like there is going to be tonight. Combe has been out, and by no means certain to return tomorrow. Killie struggling for a strike force tomorrow Summary = These bastards are at it, and looking for game to be put off
  3. Pitch inspection at AFC's request. Been dry all day down here, temp circa 5/6 degrees, not forecast for heavy rain or frost tonight. Just a precaution lads....its game on
  4. So you do have some taste afterall

  17. Think it was '72 the year I moved to close to Aberdeen. Should have been at a Scottish Cup tie prior to that v Elgin City but game was called off on the Sat and my old man wouldn't travel mid week to the rearranged game. The problem of having an non AFC supporting parent
  18. Remember the last swop deal with the Arabs involving a player with a similar name Take it we're not planning on parting with the guts of £750k this time around
  19. A 2-2 each draw [ I think ] against Falkirk Zoltan Varga was playing

  23. Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood has revealed his Christmas wish as he prepares to serve up a festive treat for the Dons supporters. The Dons manager hopes to be in a position to field his first-choice attacking line-up by the end of the year after receiving positive news from the club’s medical staff. Fears Sone Aluko could be sidelined for a lengthy period after limping out of Saturday’s win against Motherwell have been allayed and Jamie Smith is back in training. Calderwood insists he will find room for both versatile attackers in his Aberdeen team as he bids to play them together for the first time this season by the end of the year. He said: “We have dreamed about playing Jamie and Sone together again – it would be quite exciting to say the least. “On Saturday against Motherwell the game needed a bit of magic and Sone was one player on the pitch who could create it. Jamie is the same. “Sone will go for a scan as a precautionary measure because he had a problem with his hamstring last year. We will know for sure after that has taken place, but it looks like he will be out for a couple of weeks. “Jamie is back running and it shouldn’t take too long for him to reach full fitness and rejoin the squad. Hopefully, he will be ready around Christmas time.†Aluko and Smith, who have both been used in wide and central positions by Calderwood, have only been involved in the same squad once this season. The teenager was substituted at half-time in the 1-0 victory at Falkirk in October, while Smith was not introduced until the 75th minute but both are likely to line-up together within weeks. Calderwood will hope greater attacking options will aid his attempt to breathe new confidence into his side. He said: “The difference between Aberdeen and Motherwell on Saturday was we had a player in Sone Aluko who could produce that bit of magic to turn it in our favour. After the goal we started to play, the confidence came back and we could have scored four or five.†Andrew Considine, another casualty, will be back before Aluko and could feature against Kilmarnock this weekend after reacting positively to treatment of his knee injury. Chris Maguire, Jeffrey de Visscher and Gary McDonald are all pressing for a recall as Calderwood prepares to shuffle his pack to counter the loss of Aluko. Calderwood, meanwhile, was disappointed his team was not drawn at Pittodrie in yesterday’s Scottish Cup fourth round. The Dons will be away to either Raith Rovers or Alloa and Calderwood expects a difficult match. “It is disappointing we have once again got an away draw and it will be a tricky tie whoever we play,†he said.
