  1. Can I just play Devil`s Advocaat here. If what Robbo is saying is true then I personally wouldn`t miss Chris Clark (must be the most overrated Aberdeen player in history!) and Stevie Lovell as much as I like him hasn`t done it enough to warrant an improved contract. Of course losing Mickey Hart, Seve and Baz Nic would be a massive blow and even now can`t see where they`d go to better their chances of winning some silverware in their career but we`d ssurvive like we always have. Let`s say Hart does go to Celtic is that really showing any ambition? Going to The Old Firm to sit on the bench and get the odd game against lower league teams in the Cups ain`t my idea of a wonderful time playing football. Yes I know it`s all about money but what is annoying me most if the rumour mill is to be believed is that these players mentioned amognst others have built something good over the past three to four years and in all honesty can`t say they`ve been a success until they`ve won something together yet are all too happy to dismantle the good work by JC and let the fans down when it suits them. I love the club to pieces but we are never going to go anywhere if we don`t have a sustained period of stability. Surely having to start from scratch every five years or so is something those at the top of the club realise will delay the progress of the operation in making us a force to be reckoned with again? Take Care! SeeBass
  2. HEBREW, It all depends on my financial position and the availability of tickets. As I said earlier I like to be in my seat around two thirty if that won`t spoil your plans. But I`ll let you know nearer the time what the score is. I also need to be back at Central for the ten to six back to Berwick-upon-Tweed. Noticed whilst looking at your profile that you come from Musselburgh. I used to live there between October 1989 and December 1992. Take Care! SeeBass
  3. Sneckie, There is a bus replacement service from Central taking folk to Paisley Gilmour Street at ten past one getting me there for half one then back again at five fifteen for a ten to six link to the capital as I said in my initial post. Plus I`m only coming back as far Edinburgh Waverley and bussing and taxing it to Galashiels then Duns! If it`s going to be a problem then I`ll just not bother. It`s like when I tried to get to Inverness early this season. There were no trains back to Berwick-upon-Tweed after halk two on a Sunday afternoon! The game kicks off at two I thought! Public transport is atrocious round these neck of the woods. I just really wanted to get to the game as I`ve never been before and my confidence is still in tact after my other trips!
  4. Anbody else do an Atletico (11/5),Panathinaikos (4/5) double like me yesterday? OK I only did a £2 stake and got £11.52 back but hey I`ve times my money by five! Take Care!
  5. If I can get a ticket I`m hopping to goto Love Street on 29th December. Once again I`m on my own and have never been to Paisley before to watch the boys play. It`s a goal I set myself to watch them fare against Inverness, The Buddies and both sides of the Old Firm away from home. Almost a personnal achievement plan to boost my self confidence despite my physical afflictions. OK to the naked eye I come across as an able bodied person but I suffer greatly from lack of self esteem. I`m not sure what I`m going to do with myself when I arrive at Paisley Gilmour Street (is that the right stop?) by bus at half one following the connection from Glasgow Central. I believe the journey back to GC is from PGS at quarter past five so again it might be a rush against the clock. I really don`t have much money what with being on Disability Living Allowance so can`t afford to miss these links if I do decide to go. I`m wondering is there anybody who`ll be going about in any of these particular places to help me on my merry way? I like to be in my seat before half two so I can sit and read the programme and take it easy. As I say it all depends whether I can obtain a ticket although if I can`t I`ll certainly be trying for Falkirk away in both the cup and league encounters. Then again Motherwell and Gretna at Fir Park might be my only alternative in the next couple of months. Cheers For Taking The Time Out To Read About My Dilemma. Take Care! Lee P.S. It`s just I`ve been told by a mate that plays darts with me that Paisley (where his girlfriend comes from) ain`t the sort of place you want to be in on your tod if you don`t know what your doing! P.P.S. I`ve been to Tannadice, Rugby Park, Easter Road and Tynecastle on my own already this season but I have people who live in these places that can help me out if I get stuck you see.
  6. I may be daft and I maybe stupid but I`ve went for 2-1 Dons at my local independent bookie! Miller to score the winner sometime in the last ten minutes! Zander if he plays to nod us in front early on! History twenty five years on has got to repeat it`s self! Cheers! SeeBass
  7. SonOfThe Rock, Cheers for that link. Didn`t appear to have that wacky red and green halves top I was wanting but did have their home strip from the last two seasons yet both were sold out!!! Think I`ll order the snazzy green all over one once they restock which they should do eh? SeeBass
  8. Anybody know of a link to a site that`ll enable me to buy that fantastic red and green halves Loko strip? I`ve tried EBAY and the Russians themselves for a club shop but as yet no reply from our friends in Moscow! Been almost a fortnight now. Maybe they can`t understand my English! Cheers! SeeBass
  9. Al, I was looking to offload the league matches as one whole package and sell the Scottish Cup Final and European ones seperately. Want to make an offer on any now?
  10. Below is the list of programmes I`m willing to part with. If interested just give me a buzz. LEAGUE GAMES Hibernian Vs Aberdeen/Partick Thistle 3rd/5th May 1980 Aberdeen Vs St.Johnstone 3rd Jan 1984 (This programme has it`s front cover slightly damaged where somebody has maybe had it stuck to a wall then tried to unsuccessfully peel off the cellotape it was being held up by. I`ll let whoever wants this have it for free.) Hearts Vs Aberdeen Wednesday 2nd May Season 1983/84 Aberdeen Vs Dundee 11th August 1984 Aberdeen Vs Hearts Saturday 29th September 1984 Hibernian Vs Aberdeen Saturday 23rd March 1985 Hearts Vs Aberdeen Wednesday 30th October 1985 Aberdeen Vs Hearts Saturday 13th September 1986 Dundee Vs Aberdeen Saturday 13th August 1988 Aberdeen Vs Celtic Wednesday 2nd November 1988 SCOTTISH CUP FINAL RANGERS Vs ABERDEEN Saturday May 21st 1983 HEARTS Vs ABERDEEN Saturday May 10th 1986 EUROPEAN GAMES ABERDEEN Vs HAMBURG (Super Cup 2nd Leg) Wednesday 20th December 1983 ABERDEEN Vs FC PORTO (ECWC Semi-Final 2nd Leg) Wednesday 25th April 1984 ABERDEEN Vs DYNAMO BERLIN (European Cup 1st Rnd 1st Leg) Wednesday 19th September 1984 Hope I`ve brought back some good memories.
  11. I`ve a collection of programmes from the seventies and eighties which I feel somebody a little older will appreciate more (been a fan since 1991). If I give a list does anybody want to take them off my hands? Cheers! Lee
  12. Let`s meet up again with our German friends Bayern at home so I can sample a little of what went on 20 plus years ago. Then a nice trip to Bolton because family live two miles and wouldn`t need accomodation! Fiorentina the week after so we can pit our wits against a team who represent the World Champions then finally Copenhagen so while I`m in the country can use it as an excuse to nip into Odense and see the birth place of Danish maestro Hans Christian Anderson! Don`t ask for much eh? Dnipro at home was my first ever European tie in 16 years as a fan and I would love to follow the Dandies abroad at some point in my life as well as cheering them on in a Hampden Cup Final win or lose. Sadly money is at a premium with me at the moment what with my book starting to take shape but I`m still young at 27 and are sure they`ll be plenty more magical nights ahead. I think the best thing about this success is that the best team in the world are back where they firmly belong. I`m chuffed for some of the older (by that I mean in terms of loyalty to the club not age!) members of the squad who when they look back on their careers will have an array of fantastic memories at a club who deserve all the recognition they get. I want to say The Red and White Barmy Army are a credit to the Scottish scene. It`s been an honour and a privelige to experience what I have in the last few seasons. You`ve given me some of the most memorable times of my life. For me that`s what football`s all about. The taking part not the winning. Victory on a Saturday afternoon is an added bonus. Hope this comes across if any of you purchase my short stories collection. Take Care Folks!
  13. In January 2001 when Derek played for Brechin City in the Scottish Cup at Coldstream it was my report in the local rag that knocked Berwick Rangers Vs Cowdenbeath off the back page! My claim to fame! That day we lost 6-2 however the goals we got were shots fumbled by Soutar and in all honesty I`m sure he could have held both from our captain and my childhood pal. I still watch it on the video filmed by a local cameraman and cringe at his mistakes. Kick Ass SeeBass!
  14. Yep Mizer that was me who got on the 18.33 to Edinburgh! The Swan in Duns is my local and used to play Darts for The Bull on a Monday so Chimp I may have met you there! Cheers for the safety advice Big Al. Kick Ass SeeBass! P.S. How is we always seem to lose a game from a strong position when we`re not playing well? Went to Easter Road and just as I thought we had a mental tounghness about us we go and blow it!
  15. because on the club`s website I can`t find a link to the Red Web? Also I`d like to thank Scott, Dave and Paul who looked after me at the Dundee United game. One of the best days of my life! Cheers Guys! If anybody knows who I`m on about please pass on my details below. I`d like to tell them about me saving a stranded American girl in Edinburgh who needed to get tro Duns in the Scottish Borders where I live after I turned down their offer to drown my sorrows in the Granite City! Kick Ass SeeBass!
