  1. Not impressed. Plain and simple, we were too negative. I'll not bother paying them the usual platitudes of being fit and well organised, if we'd actually gone out to beat them, we would have. I thought Weser up to contain and score on the break. At 0-1, that looks justifiable but I think it was still questionable and at 1-1 those questions were answered. Quinn was gash, Taylor looked lost and Ward also failed to cover himself in glory. It was not a good night for the defence, nor was it a particularly good night for our attackers either. I think we'll beat this lot at Pittodrie. Tonight wasn't a disaster. But if we've aspirations of getting 3points vs Dundee orPartick or Hamilyon sassy this year, we need to be more convincing and more dominant in this type of encounter.
  2. 4/1 on Hearts to be bottom six, 3/1 on St J on the same bet. 3/1 Dundee to be top six. Nae bad bets.
  3. Ferhan Hasani has signed for our Macedonian Euro opponents. He's a winger with 20 odd caps. He started his career with them before moving on to Wolfsburg then Bronby. His move back to Macedonia has been funded by an oil company, he's apparently on £5,000 a week which will likely make him the best paid player on the park. Derek was on the radio suggesting there wouldn't be any moves involving us over the next fortnight but I'm nae convinced. We may well be holding on til the end of the window to see how other things pan out but I'd be very surprised if we didn't get another 2 or 3 players in.
  4. Reynolds was, in my opinion, the most integral part of our record breaking clean sheet run, with JAck almost as important providing protection in front of the back four. He maybe wasn't faultless, but how many goals conceded were down to his errors alone? Very, very few, which is seriously impressive for a CB. I think Reynolds dip in form has been grossly over-stated. On Jack getting the captaincy, I think it's perfect. He's relish the responsibility and he'll be supported by a whole should of solid, experienced pros. It'll be another catalyst for his impressive year on year development.
  5. , kind of. I'm trying to bring in the cash to stop the cuts. A Manhattan or two may need to be consumed for the greater good...
  6. Ha, if the uni are involved, problems are highly likely at the moment. All capital projects are on hold, 150 staff are getting made redundant and, most importantly, my expense account is looking less favourable.
  7. I can relate to that like, I'm heading off to China imorn and it is only getting harder to be away. Pish. No chance of Shay and family relocating? I understand him nae fancying that if he's only on loan or a relatively short deal where managers and circumstance notoriously change quickly. But now, after establishing himself as he has, with the manager and teammates all committing to longer deals, would it be beyond the realms of possibility that we could convince him his future is here? I dinna ken. I just feel now more than ever we've got the potential to offer stability and success.
  8. There is a lot of speculation that Shay is unsettled and unhappy with the arrangements the club have made for him and they may be true. Has Shay actually said he wants to leave though? He's got a year on his contract and, assuming he maintains his level of performance, he's worth more to us than a token 150k pay off. If he's desperate to leave, than fine, but I'm not entirely convinced that is the case. I hope he stays.
  9. Nae him. Scot is pushing it, to be fair.
  10. Aye, it seemed to be from last month I think. Not heard anything official, nor do I know anything about him. Think he was a youth rather than a first team player. I did hear a rumour about a Championship based, double barreled Scot being linked. I think we might see some movement this week. We had Logan, Brown, Taylor and, I think, Goodwillie (he maybe missed the first qualifier), all signed up for Europe last year.
  11. We all agree that Armageddon is magic, yeah? In the last three years we've had six different Scottish Cup finalists and two new winner. In the same period, we've had six different league cup finalists, one new winner and Aberdeen won their first trophy in a generation. The only fuckers nae happy are fans of the cheeks.
  12. When was Quinn pacey like? I've always thought of him as a big solid defensive type rather than a nippy wide man. Essentially he's a right sided Considine.
  13. Just got this: Just sold this, Barry White's debut I think: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bczGkD86co
  14. I hope we're strongly linked to him, even if it's just to wind the filth up.
  15. If we're genuinely looking to be title contenders, squad depth is absolutely essential. If Quinn is in to provide that defensive depth as both a capable RB and CB deputy, I think he's a solid player to sign at a good age. If he's in for the first team, he's not who I'd have picked and he's certainly not going to increase season ticket sales. He's basically a better, more experienced big Joe.
  16. Superb player in a position that's been a chronic issue for decades. He's a local loon with a superb attitude too. Exciting signing and one the club deserve a lot of credit for. Good luck to him at the weekend. Hope Yogi does it too. He's a big lovable goon. Houston, on the other hand, is a bellend.
  17. Every man has his price. McGinn is one of our star players. We're debt free and he's on a decent contract so that price had better have seven figures. If he wants to go, so be it, but lets get it done quickly so we have time to secure a quality replacement because a McGinn shaped whole in our starting 11 would be hugely negative for us.
  18. If it creates space for another keeper, this canna be a bad thing. I dinna think GK coach is that meaningful a role anyway.
  19. Aye, deliberately league goals only as a bunch of goals vs yir Rigas or yir East Fifes can skew things a bit. I think we do create a lot of chances but to an extent we've been unlucky. McGinn alone must have hit the woodwork a dozen times this season. We've also had a few perfectly good goals chopped off by idiot officials. Assuming we stick with 4-2-3-1 next season, it will be interesting to see where McLean fits in now that Jack's future is confirmed for the short term.
  20. Despite a great season overall, this season has seen use fail to convert far too many great chances. We've dominated games for huge spells but regularly have struggled to edge out 1-0 wins. Now, it's fantastic we've managed to see out a lot of 1-0 wins, in the past we'd lose more than our fair share of games we've bossed so it's certainly progress, but, to kick on again, we really need to be putting games out of sight, brining in a bit more of a fear factor too. Hard to do, no question, especially when teams come and play for a point, but goals are where it's at. One positive is just home many players are capable of weighing in, though, I think McGinn, Hayes and Jack need to become more prolific next year. Rooney - 18 Pawlett - 6 Goodwillie - 6 McGinn - 5 Hayes - 3 Jack - 3 Taylor - 3 Logan - 3 Smith - 2 Considine - 2 Reynolds - 2 Low - 1 Expect McLean will bang in a few next year but I'd still like another striker and another wide player in.
  21. Aye, you can see full lists here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015%E2%80%9316_UEFA_Europa_League The draw is on 22nd June I think. Can't tell who our potential opponents are yet but expect a rough regionalisation to take place in advance of the draw. I'll only get to one away game between now and Aug so I'll likely wait, both first and second rounds are drawn together.
  22. Right, that's 2014/15 over. Only about 35 days until the 2015/16 season kicks off. Aspirations? Well, we've got to fancy getting to the group stages but they don't half make it difficult. Surely we can't get another set of draws as tough as Groningen followed by Sociedad. We will be unseeded for most of the draws though. I'd love a tie in Belgium but would prefer to avoid glamour for easier progression at least until we get through the first few hurdles.
  23. For the avoidance of doubt, I dinna think Taylor is a poor player, I think he's settled well after an inauspicious start, I just feel that he's not quite the man mountain folk in our support want him to be. Someone described him as a posh Zander Daiamond and that does ring a little true for me. He makes some really eye catching interventions but often they're required because he's been exposed. Losing Ando and assuming Daniels won't get kept on, we'll need another CB. With Murray and Big Joe going, we've little cover at RB, unless we've got Culjak ear marked for both RB and CB cover? With two senior goal keepers on the books, I canna see one coming in without one going out. Driver not working out was a shame, I can see McInnes wanting more width in the squad but that's hard to come by, as Wylde and Mokonakana have also shown. It'll certainly be an interesting summer, especially with our Euro commitments starting so soon, Deek may well strike sooner rather than later, as the Shinnie and Mclean signings have already shown.
  24. I dinna see that the situation has changed. We've made him a good offer and I think he'll accept it. As long as he doesn't get an offer from Serie A or LA Liga or the EPL. I'd not be surprised if he did get a decent offer from a good club. Equally, if it's only Huddersfield or Rotherham that make concrete bids, I think he'll stay put. I think we just need to hold our nerve and hope for the best here.
