  1. I thought Jason Brown was shite. Fat and shite. Fat and shite and slow. He thought the same about me though.
  2. That is also true. Where is he now?
  3. Hart was great for a couple of years, he was one of my favorites from that era. His pace was central to JC's game. Dinna think he'd replace Logan though, even at his peak. Preece isn't any worse than Brown/Langfield. Nae any better either mind. Looking at that squad, it's hard to understand why JC hasn't had another proper chance in the SPL. Look at clowns like McCoist or Barraclough. JC is a different class to them, even if you're nae a fan, you've got to admit he's a cut above some of the absolute chancers who've had decent gigs here recently.
  4. Ha, I have a real soft spot for McNamee. McGhee had persisted with the four CB's and we were absolutely turgid. Brown came in and immediately brought in McNamee. He wasn't great but having an actual full back made a huge difference. I think we won 3 or 4 on the bounce when he arrived. I think he played about 10 times for us and we picked up about half our seasons points in those games. That era was littered with journeymen, from Alan Maybury to Gary Dempsey to Richie Byrne to Ricky Foster. Most are still playing in lower leagues somewhere.
  5. Aye, time for a Shankland shot. The international form and experience, coupled with his youth team form and contribution with limited game time thus far have all suggested he's got huge potential. Time to take it up a gear. Also hope Low gets a chance before the season end. He's been really unlucky with injury this year. We may just have moved on a notch from him now but he's a capable player in the SPL.
  6. I thought his distribution was his best asset. Compared to the average SPL defender, his range of passing and delivery was a cut above in my opinion. The game he scored the peach vs Partick, as magnificent as that strike was, he out did it with the cross for McGinn's second. I also think his skill set became the benchmark for what McInnes wanted in a new CB with Ash fitting the bill closest to our needs in our budget. Highlights of the Partick game:
  7. Cheers loons, gonna shout on Phoenixx, Tubilay and Edgar to come on over too. I dinna spend nearly as much time on message boards as I used to and I really enjoyed Aberdeen-Mad for years but it's just completely unusable now, which is a real shame. Just back from a work trip in China. Met a student who had studied in Aberdeen. I asked him why he came here and he said that Mo Ross had signed for Beijing and he'd checked up on his playing history, seen he'd played for Aberdeen and then started learning more about the city. What a bizarre reason for ending up in the North East for 4 years.
  8. Interesting that he mentions Yule too. Nae often you hear board members getting singled out. I thought Hector was absolute class, despite his inexperience, his technical ability made him head and shoulders above most in the league. Shame we couldn't have had him for longer.

  12. "Nottingham Forest are preparing a £1m bid for MK Dons midfielder Peter Leven. (Daily Star)" Yikes, looks like this ex Killie freebie we were "linked" to a couple of years back will be joining the likes of Thierry Henry, Hermann Hreidarsson, Jurgen Klinsman and Ferrie Bodde as "one that got away"...
  13. Hi All, As some of you will be aware, the Dnipro Kids Charity will be collecting at Pittodrie today. Aberdeen and Hibs fans have been supporting these kids for a while now and the impact we make on their lives is significant, and as you can see in the photo below (if you copy and paste, sorry I'm rubbish with technology) some of these kids are now proud Dons fans too. If you are at the game today, please do give us a few coins, every little helps. We'll also have a selection of genuine collectors items up for auction shortly too and I'll post details later. If you'd like to donate but won't make the match today, you can do so online at http://dniprokids.com/donate.html Lets keep helping these poor kids to Stand Free Cheers Joe (aka that cunt the stooge)

  18. Many of us will be looking forward to supporting the Dons in Dnipro in the coming weeks and there are few things more exciting as a football supporter than a trip to a foreign land to back your team. Our hosts on the 5th of October however still suffer from crippling poverty and many of the most disadvantaged there could benefit tremendously from the change in your pocket, a small on-line donation or from some clothes and toys out grown by your kids. When Hibs visited in 2005 the Dnipro Appeal was set up to help provide for some of the poorest children of Dnipropetrovsk and to ensure that the warmth and generosity of the Scottish fans would be remembered long after Hibs had been pumped out of the cup. You can find out more about the great work done at http://www.dniprokids.com/. Now its our turn to continue this cause and do our bit to support the orphans of Dnipro. Aberdeen Football Club and new SPL sponsors the Clydesdale Bank have kicked off the appeal by donating £750 which will be presented before the Aberdeen vs Motherwell game. We will also be collecting children’s clothes, toys and games, and useful items such as nappies, towels and bed clothes. If you have items to donate please contact me at jwhimster@gmail.com. I’m also looking for fans traveling to the game to take items across for us. Again contact me at the above address if you’d be willing to do this. After the home leg the club will be donating a variety of signed and match worn items to auction on ebay. You will be able to find these items by doing a key word search on ebay for “Dnipro Kidsâ€. They will be listed after the Dnipro home leg on September 21st. This will be a great chance to own some great memorabilia while also contributing to a very worthwhile cause. You can also donate on-line right now at http://www.dniprokids.com/donate.html - any donation will be most gratefully appreciated so please do take five minutes to make a real difference to the lives of these most deprived kids. All the cash raised will be used to help the children. It will be used to buy medical supplies and vaccines, school books and equipment, warm winter clothing, Christmas and Birthday presents and generally making their day to day lives that little bit easier. If you can contribute in anyway please do, all your contributions will make an impact. Help them to Stand Free.
  19. For me at the moment... Langfield Hart Touzani Anderson Foster Nicholson MacNamara Severin Smith Lovell Miller or Langfield Hart Touzani Anderson Nicholson MacNamara Severin Smith Clark Lovell Miller No place in the team for Considine, Diamond, Mair, Mackie, De Visscher and Maguire in either team, and either Foster and Clark depending on formation. Looks like a pretty damn strong squad, albeit still a little light, with a lot of options on the bench. Role on next season.
  20. Surely Brewster could manage one. Touzani maybe? Who was the last moustache sporting red? Stavrum?
  21. Nicholson gets my vote for player of the year, just ahead of Ando and Hart. Nicholson was by far the best midfielder of the year. Hope he signs an extention soon.
