  1. "We want to be top of the mini-league now, we want to be seventh." Yaaaas... that's the kind of ambition and success the fans have been screaming out for. We want to finish 7th!
  2. Why not give ALL the players a copy of Team of the Decade, then we can win another European trophy... I didnae realise it worked that way, but okay.
  3. Jesus.. at last. Still pissed that you can't listen to other games around the country the way you could with the previous service, but anything has to be better than the abortion they're using right now. I like to think I know a wee bit about computers, but I've been 100% incapable of getting this PC to stream the games on RedTV. I came to the conclusion that it has to be a problem with hardware/soundchip compatibility and, as a result, there's no way I'll ever get RedTV to work on this PC. I wasn't going to bother renewing my sub this year, simply because the streaming service they offered was, to be fair, utterly pish.
  4. Well, finally one of them acknowledges the obvious. Now maybe if they also couple that fact with this piece of information... ...it might slooooooowly begin to dawn on them why we keep losing to pish, why we've won nothing in 15 years and why crowds are declining to the point that Dundee United looks like becoming a better supported team.
  5. One correction... Smith didn't play 4 games, he played 3 and a bit. He broke down with his latest long term injury part way through game 4, so he's actually only managed 3 full games. The club would have to be absolutely insane to sign Smith, regardless of how good he is. He's a liability. A drain on wages and resources that the club can't afford.
  6. Granted I don't get the chance to see the players very much, but I still remember him versus Sigma. For those two games alone he should have been let go and allowed to find a club more suitable to his level.
  7. There's a large degree of bollocks attached to this "I've nae money" thing to be sure. If you have no money then you go out and pick up talented youngsters or emerging talents for sweeties. Aberdeen have been utterly hopeless at identifying young talent for years, so McGhee continuing on in this recent tradition is hardly surprising. Is it really beyond the realms of possibility that a team of good, young players could be assembled? The SPL is, at best, a third rate league.. it's not like they would be expected to beat teams like Real, Arsenal or even Brighton... they'd be up against St. Mirren, St Johnstone and Falkirk.... ...christ, I reckon a few Sunday league teams would give those clubs a good game. Might be an idea to get a couple of decent scouts in.
  8. Well, if we can't compete with English 2nd division wages then we can assume the players in question are from the Conference or Blue Square leagues (Does that even exist any more?) I don't know any players from those leagues... but I can only imagine they're absolutely top quality players.
  9. I couldn't really care one way or the other if the Dons went down, frankly. I used to give a shit... I remember punching a hole in a door after one particularly shite result back in my younger days. An Aberdeen defeat would see me miserable and grouchy as fuck for the better part of a week. Then came the Milne years... the years in which he presided over the destruction of AFC as a force, and in fact turned the club into a laughing stock (see the Ebbe and Paterson years). And with each passing year, with the club falling further into disrepair, I cared less and less. Nothing was done to arrest the slide, and in fact it seems like some decisions were made with the express purpose of harming the club. I've come to the conclusion that our decline was intentional and deliberate on the part of the people in charge... because it's hard to believe it was purely down to mismanagement. Years and years and years of mismanagement. There are teenagers who havent seen AFC win anything at this point. Now they could get relegated and I doubt I would give fuck. In fact I know I wouldn't. Meh.
  10. Fancy United to tear us a new arsehole. Maybe 3-0 United.
  11. Vox Populi! They even come in the right colours.... let's get this done.
  12. I know.... I was just having a little fantasy there
  13. Either they're not behind McGhee or they're just shit. Langfield is saying they ARE behind McGhee, so he's admitting the players simply aren't good enough. So they'll understand why they're getting sacked, then.
  14. What's McGhee supposed to say? "Jesus... I've been pish since I took this job on." So far his tenure has seen us slaughtered at home by Sigma slaughtered away by Sigma Get pumped out of the League cup to a 1st division side Get pumped out of the Scottish cup by a 1st division side, even though we had two bites at the cherry 8th in the league A run of 10 games without a win beaten twice by the relegation favourites. sitting 8th Little chance of top 6 Playing football so bad that crowds are now sub-Calderwood He's really not doing very well at all, is he? The team is pish, that's not his fault. He's getting nothing out of the players... that IS his fault. He's getting no money... that's the board's fault. So, top to bottom, everyone is partially to blame. Players. McGhee. Board.. What we got here is one fucked up football club.
  15. Are you aware that you're mentally ill, or do you think you're pretty much normal? Just as a for example, here's the Philidelphia Wings. And what you're saying is that you, and all NE 'Men' would be all upset at the sheer voyeuristic sexism that having cheerleaders would entail.? Only, I reckon you'd be sitting on your own, and all the NE 'Men' would be transfixed. Should we put it to a vote?
  16. One of them just won Miss Michigan.. one of the Ignition cheerleaders. That's the quality of bird what Dons fans should be getting.
  17. You know, the only reason I go watch the Detroit Ignition is because they have absolutely stunning cheerleaders who take turns to wander through the crowd selling merchandise, handing out prizes and doing little, spontaneous jiggly dances. Now I know Aberdeen tried the cheerleader thing with the weird, pallid man-woman things... but I'm talking about hot cheerleaders, not some troupe of sickly looking trannies like Reds and Co. I'm not saying this is the only thing the club should try, but it's a pretty good starting point.
  18. Actually, 2 points out of a possible 18 isn't that bad when you look at our recent fixtures. I mean, yeah, we haven't won a single game in our last ten competitive matches, 8 of which were league and 2 of which were cup games. Let's look at them. 30 Jan: League: Home game v Motherwell. Beaten 0-3. Motherwell.. good side. 2 Feb: League: Home game v Falkirk. Beaten 0-1. A very creditable result for Aberdeen against a team desperate to beat relegation. 6 Feb: SC: Away game v Raith. Drew 1-1. An away draw with a very reasonable 1st Division Raith Rovers. 10 Feb: League: Away game v Hibs. Drew 2-2. An outstanding result against a team of all-stars. 13 Feb: League: Home game v Celtic. Drew 4-4. Unimaginable draw against the eventual 2nd place team. 16 Feb: SC: Home game v Raith. Lost 0-1. A marvelous run of draws comes to an end at the hands of a very reasonable 1st Division Raith Rovers. 20 Feb: League. Away game v Falkirk. Lost 1-3. A decent result against a Falkirk team desperate to escape relegation. 27 Feb: League: Home game v Hearts. Lost 0-1. A decent result. 6 March: League: Away game v Hamilton Drew 1-1. Reasonable result against a side fighting to escape relegation. 16 March: League Away game v St Johnstone. lost 0-1. Acceptable result against a team above us in the league. With our next two games against Dundee United and Rangers we could, with a bit of luck, keep the goals against down to a reasonable level. So in the last 10 games we've picked up no less than 3 points out of a possible 24, and been put out of the cup over two legs by Raith Rovers. By the time the St Mirren game comes around I'd expect that to be 3 points out of a possible 30. That's actually not all that bad, really. If we can pick up another 3 points in the post split we should be just about safe from relegation.... or maybe not. So you see it's not all that bad.
  19. I suppose it's not impossible for a club to be run so ineptly that it just ceases to be a force at all, and ends up grubbing around in some lower division. Morton and Partick, while smaller than Aberdeen, always seemed to be bouncing back and forth into the top league and the next division down. Now they're makeweights for the lower divisions. Even Inverness, for a few years, were SPL regulars... now they've found their level. Aberdeen just doesn't have any kind of leadership, the board are incapable of lifting the club out of the doldrums into which they themselves took the club. We might just be witnessing the reduction of Aberdeen from a force into some kind of lower SPL makeweight. Or maybe some miracle will occur where money is pumped into the club, rather than pissed away by the board. Unlikely though. Does anyone really care all that much? I really don't. Might be a distance thing or a result of seeing Aberdeen fail and fail and fail again for as long as I can remember. Anyway.. meh can't bring myself to care very much as to AFCs fate.
  20. I wonder if Milne actually does think that the fans believe this tired old routine by now? I think he knows it's fooling no-one, but he still goes through the motions because frankly he has to. Even his personal Meat Shield Miller is no longer capable of taking all the flak, so he comes out of his office for 5 minutes, rolls out the platitudes, then disappears back up his own arse, job done.
  21. Well, McGhee's saving grace (to my mind) is that this isn't 'his' team. It's Calderwood's. Now despite these being the same players (more or less) who made Europe and finished fourth last season they clearly don't want to play for the manager. The issue then becomes who do you get rid of... players or manager? I'd vote to get shot of the players. We've made our bed in sacking our most successful manager in years, allegedly to appease the corporates and the fans, and hired a relatively popular manager. The least the club can do is give him a couple of years to bring in his own dross. That's not a slam on McGhee.... but all he's going to get for nowt is dross. The test will be if he, like Calderwood, can take dross and make it work.
  22. Harper's right, but he's not saying anything that we haven't known for quite some time.
  23. Do what? Rip the piss out of yet another barely coherent muppet who has a problem with me?
