mackie my motm as well, thought he led the line brilliantly. but one up against killie at home was not good tactics! the shot by young at the end was a cracker, couldnt believe it didnt end up in the back of the net. good to get the win. and kerr was bloody awful, i think the reason he always passes the ball backward or sidewards is cos if he tries a pass forward it always ends up either in the keepers hands or far too far ahead of the player he intended to pass to.

is it not a bit strange a couple of days ago that mcghee said he was not looking at bringing in any new centre halves (in relation to moving for Russell) and yet we are looking at Barr? Or is it that he's planning on playing Barr at right back?

prob for sentimental reasons jamie smiths winner against huns at pittodrie a few seasons ago. it was my first season with a season ticket and i was sitting very near where he came over to celebrate (and jamie smith is from my home town as well, he actually presented me with the player of the year trophy for my football team a few years ago!), and it was my first ever Aberdeen against Huns actually being in the stadium! so all in all was a great goal!!!

aye was a mistake by ssn, it's quite shocking how regularly they make mistakes regarding scottish football. if it aint the old firm they dont give a flying ....! thought it was a bit strange when first read it then went on the setanta news and saw the exact same story only it was well instead of us!! it woulda been nice to fund some signings with the legal money though!!!

aye still plays for huns, played against us the other week in the reserves. i'd take a shot on him used to be good and we'd probably have a chance of getting him now cos of the injury problems he's had. should be loads of decent players flying about available on frees this summer so hopefully get a couple of decent frees in especially when sevvy and/if smith/mair go

i said airdrie too because i hate them!!! would be good to see us pumping them!!

i'm fairly sure rangers beat hibs 1 nil that game but they got the early goal then hibs just sat and passed the ball in their defence cos it suited both teams. not a draw tho.

good thread!! i managed eleven. but that wasnt including nicholson whos leaving, or aluko and walker. i did include miller right enough even though looks likes he going. severin just creeped into list for me, has to start proving hes a good footballer again! guys like foster, considine and maguire are still young and decent squad fillers. ive got rid of both keepers, never liked either of them. it does look like we might be fucked next year!!

still a few dons fans about stirling, myself included. i moved up here for uni and got in touch with the supporters bus from here. unfortunately the bus has died a death but they still manage to get at least a couple of cars going to games. due to university making me skint i havent been much this season. went every game for the first two years of uni though. decent enough folk, i'm one of the youngest at 23. you moving up here?

i thot clarky got announced as match sponsor at pittodrie but on bbc it said lee miller. no complaints about either in my opinion. miller and maguire linked up very well, could be an interesting partnership although it prob wont get the chance to develop. also sevvy did look desperate to score when he came on. had a couple of chances and should have been played in by miller who took on a stupid shot when he should have laid the ball in for sevvy. think it should be pretty much same team that starts next week, hopefully with zander coming in for mair.

aye miller was trying his best to get on scoresheet, he was shooting from everywhere!! just listened to interview on bbc there as well. calderwood saying that touzani only got brought off cos he was already booked and had been warned by ref again so didnt want to take any risks.

this is only my opinion and may get shot down but here goes: i reckon touzani was immense against madrid because he had more time on the ball and the game wasnt as fast. in scotland the game happens at lightning speed and has a tendency to pass certain players by if they arent quick enough. i would have touzani in this category, when he has played (would include today against hibs) the games that fast that he's just that extra yard off a perfect tackle. today he was quite late with a couple of challenges. thats the only reason i think he may not have played more often in scotland.

just saw the game. was genuinely worried bout match today but a great performance which we prob should have scored more. if they hadny scored that counter attacking goal we would have taken four or five off them. really good performance. sevvy started on the bench might make him think! actually thought we lost our way for a bit when jc took touzani and maguire off. thought maguire and miller linked up well although both their shooting ability today was dreadful. hitting shots from anywhere and it ending up anywhere. touzani not as noticeable today but thats more down to the fact we were attacking whereas against madrid it was more off a defensive job. thought clark had a good match today, very luck at his goal right enough! good result lads!!

bit shocked he's been called up already considering hes only played a few games for us this season. but fairplay to him. id rather have him in goals than soutar but i'd still rather get someone better in goals, but at moment we cant afford it

some twat told me we had panathanaikos and madrid at home then away to copenhagen and moscow which i thought we'd have no chance but with it being the other way round i'm more confident. agree i think we could or should be able to take copenhagen at home as well as moscow. right off the madrid game and hopefully snatch something in greece but i might be over optimistic.think four points takes you through anyways.

depends what aberdeen team turns up if we can do it or not. think we can sneak it, and i dont believe this side are anything special but then i bet hibs fans were feeling the same way two years ago when they went over with a nil nil. dnipro might be completely different side at home. the one thing we've got going for us though is that we are a fast side so hopefully be able to hit them on the counter when one of langfields quick punts up the park actually works!! i'm hopeful though even started thinking bout the draw for group stages which is a bit premature!!!

i agree that calderwood will only take us so far but unfortunatelywe can only go so far unless the management team get financial support. without heavy investment we are never going to compete in the league with the old firm or even arguably hearts. third in the league is as far as we can hope for, also with a good cup run and into the uefa group stages. no other manager could take us further with the current financial support we have at the club. although hopefully if (and its a bloody big if) we can get past dnipro tomorrow night then a bit of money will come into the club then calderwood will get support to take us that stage further. regular qualification to europe is a must though to start getting financial support.

what gets more on my tits is when they show you a photo of say darren mackie and the caption underneath will say its jamie smith or something. they seem to always get the player wrong. they used to do it with the young brothers, which fair enough makes a bit more sense but when they do it with two completely different players who look nothing alike it really annoys me!

we'll only realise how good calderwood is when hes gone. then we'll regret not supporting him more. im not his biggest fan either and i do think hes an idiot with some of his tactical decisions and i would far rather have seve in midfield than defence etc etc. all i'm saying is he's the best we've had in a long time.
