  1. Good god, i'd actually forgotten that he is somehow employed in not one but two managerial roles in this country.
  2. Aaaah, real football, thank christ. None of that pink pish.
  3. Dinnae be daft, they'd never get enough votes - even counting the Sevco fans that have forgotten they are supposed to be boycotting the BBC, it's still only 1 user per computer at the social centre.
  4. Just to comment on one point, i'd nae be happy if the Scottish government did divert public funds to football - it's not exactly a frontline public service and there are far better beneficiaries of a very limited (and shrinking) financial pool, like health, education, social care, LAs etc. Other than that, as you were
  5. Up next, Sevco game, Willie Collum as ref. What could possibly go wrong?
  6. as chosen by BBC website visitors (!) 2 from Aberdeen (Maddison and O'Connor) are joined by 5 Victims (who cares), and 1 of each from Jambos (Paterson), Well (Moult), Caley (Fon Williams) and Hamilton Crawford). I'm amazed it's nae 11 Victims given the source of the voting. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/scotland/37645907 Incidentally, can you embed videos in posts on here?
  7. I thought he'd left one for himself.
  8. So i switched it off after the 2nd goal went in. What did i miss?
  9. Surely to christ that's the end of Strachan.
  10. No, and that's the problem. This isn't the Scottish national team, it's the Strachan personal team. As far as i'm concerned, it's Slovakia 1 Strachan Utd 0, his teams are nae fit to represent Scotland.
  11. Hopefully that strip gets dumped the same time as Strachan, so we can threaten poorly performing teams with it in future years - "pull it together boys or you'll be playing in the Strachan Pink Strip of Shame" Also, fuck. But no surprise, just fuck.
  12. Griffiths isn't starting. Nor is Robertson (who was our best player on Saturday), Burke, Anya, Rhodes or Shinnie.
  13. Linfield are utterly rank, and have resorted to hacking at the QOS players. One of them has just rugby tackled the goalie into the goal whilst holding the ball and (briefly) tried to claim it.
  14. 2-0 now after a quality free kick which i got the impression the QOS players enjoyed quite a bit, as it followed two QOS players getting taken out with studs to the back and arm respectively.
  15. Is this the "diddy games" thread then? Sevco Linfield down 1-0 in extra time to QOS in the soft drink cup.
  16. He's already failed, in my eyes. But yeah, we'll probably get rid of him two games before the end when the damage is already done, and then talk up the new replacement as showing "promise for next time". I've just read his interview on the BBC site, it's bewildering how he can claim we were "unlucky" and Martin was "outstanding". We were shyte and he wasn't. Thankfully, God did the BBC player ratings and pretty much slated everything WGS said, which cheered me up a little.
  17. Hemmin, you should switch that shyte off and put the NI game on instead - after all, who would you rather watch terrorising defences, McGinn or Forrest?
  18. Given his record, a draw with a part-time team would probably be deemed a "positive result", so presumably he's staying
  19. Ach, i'm nae sure i should speak in realtime, there's nae edit button for when my brain reads what i typed
  20. Nearly 1-0 to Aberdeen NI - Niall McGinn skins a defender the right and fires in a wicked cross, only for Josh Magennis to shank it wide. Or did you mean the London Scottish game?
  21. I've just heard a burst of that godawful tune they plan on playing if Scotland score - makes me almost want a 0-0 draw. The question is, do i watch this or watch Niall McGinn in the Aberdeen International team?
  22. Pffft. That's nae worth capital letters.
  23. Adblock Plus is indeed effective for 90% of the adverts/banners, but only if it is installed. That raises a few issues. The first is if you are using a machine where you don't have administrative rights to install extensions (eg. work, public terminal, someone else's machine), or a device for which it is not or only partially effective (some phones, tablets), then the ads are a nightmare. Most regular users tend to have installed an adblocker as they know how crap the site is without one. The second problem is not the regulars though, its the first time visitors or occasional browsers who are put off from joining, you can't assume they have all got ABP and so the site gains a poor reputation and atrophies as a result. Thirdly, the basic principle of covering a community fan site in adverts to line one person's pockets is fairly dubious in itself. I doubt anyone would object to sponsorship or donation-based funding to cover a site's costs, but AbMad is clearly out to make money for one individual. Even then that would be fine (in a free market kind of way) if it provided a service above and beyond the "free" options, but it doesn't.
  24. Maybe it was just to increase the number of international caps in the squad, seeing as WGS isnae going to give us any. Either that or we are trying to take over the NI team by stealthily signing candidates then hiding them away in a cupboard.
  25. Where are you now then? In the kitchen.
