With him and Ferguson in the middle of the park (if Ferguson stays) I think we can rule out winning the fair play league.

If Ferguson stays, and him & Brown are playing together as the 2 sitting midfielders, they’ll rack up more yellow cards than any central midfielders in the league.

Scott Brown won’t have his yellow & red card immunity he had at the Tims, where he could commit 5 or 6 fouls before the referee did something about it.

Well I for one am excited about the future. I was impressed with Glass' interview on RedTV and also Cormack. It sounds like they already have some new players identified and that they will be investing in the squad this summer. There is a real ignorance about US Major League Soccer. For all a lot of people can't stand the US and the style they put on sport, they know how to do it and invest in grass roots and coaching etc. In my opinion, the US are far better at professional sport that we are. Glass comes to us with a really good education which is a lot more than can be said for some young managers here. Jack Ross is an example of a young fairly inexperienced manager and he is doing pretty well as is Gerrard. Atlanta 2 would cuff any Scottish Championship team in Scotland. Glass has more experience than most people are giving him credit for!

Atlanta Utd’s first team has Jake Mulraney & Emerson Hyndman in it.

    Can’t be that good.

I wonder if Wright will regret his move to the hun now?

    Probably not.

Anyway, I hope Glass gets players in before the last minute of each window.

That always annoyed me and I understand players/agents etc have to choose the best offers coming in but ffs surely we can set deals on the table and say take it or leave it by such a date.

McInnes reeked of desperation with signings. That was perhaps down to a lack of financial power therefore had to search drastically for bargains.

I really hope things change with that so players can be brought into the team earlier.

The last window was nothing to do with McInnes.

He was raging he was scrabbling about on the last day signing three on loan.

Cormack clearly blocked things earlier in the window.

”There are a lot of things am no happy aboot” was his direct quote... that was clearly one of them.

Reports saying 12 players out of contract at end of season, that's gonna be alot easier showing a few of them the door in order to bring in hopefully some quality.

Imo theres maybe 5 I'd keep, Lewis, Ferguson, Mcrorie, Mcgeoch & Hedges.

Aye, there’s 9 contracted players out of contract & 4 currently on loan so potentially 13 leaving.

Probably looking at up to 10 players coming in with a couple of youngsters promoted.

Who’s Head of Recruitment now? Has Russ Richardson gone too?
I’d wager we’ll get a couple of loans from Atlanta, which fills me with dread.

Dons cup game is on TV.

The BBC maybe sniff a shock.

A 0-0 and penalties shoot out.

    It wouldn’t surprise me.

If Dumbarton go 5-4-1 we’ll be clueless about breaking them down.

The day it was announced we got gubbed 3-0 by Motherwell, the game being over after 8 minutes of comical defending.

That set the tone for the rest of this crap season. We've been rudderless ever since. We've been defending like amateurs at times and we can't score.

    Disagree

We’ve had the occasional blip defensively (Ross County away, ‘Well at home), but generally been ok - stats back that up.

Once Watkins, Wright & Hedges disappeared we’ve been lamentable going forward.

We need pace & creativity in the team, and “legs” and energy if we are to become a “high press” team.

I wish glass all the best. He was a quality player and he might put a bit of ambition into the side.

I'd love to see us try to take it to the old firm by trying to outplay them. When I see some of the German sides playing out on TV, I think to myself, " why can't our coaches make us play like that? ". It was clear that cormack park wasn't a hot bed of tactical brilliance and the team had little direction on game day.

sure we might lose some games from mistakes but at least we'd enjoy watching it.

    The Old Firm?.....

hang on a second, wait until Mr McFly fires up his Delorean

If you were manager and you liked/knew of a great employee you would still interview others for the job.

They may have to really blow you away to change your mind but it happens in business all the time.

I dont see anything wrong with Cormack doing the same.

The combo of Glass and Brown is now an exciting one I think IF what's been said that they're bringing in 2 international footballers (one hopefully being Griffiths).

That would be fantastic for a start IMO.

It's not what I wanted but theyll both get my backing.

I dont see why Brown should have to publicly apologise to Logan either.Who does that?

I've no doubt at some point Brown will take Logan aside privately and tell him he regrets what happened. Hopefully.

Let's get behind this appointment now.

I believe in Cormack and his ambition to get this great club back to winning ways.He seems genuine and McInnes and covid have held him back for a year.

    ?

    Griffiths is a busted flush.

Barely fit enough to play 30 minutes.

I said, let’s get behind Chairman AND manager. You have conveniently responded without mentioning that, although it appears pretty clear what you think of Cormack based on your assumptions on Glass only getting the job because he’s Cormack’s mate, or because Cormack lined him up as soon as he took over, or because in your words there was no process.

You haven’t a clue about any of that. It’s just negativity and a failure on your part to give Cormack a chance.
I hope that he and Glass prove you and the rest of the nay-sayers wrong.

There are as yet undiscovered tribes in the Amazonian jungle who knew Stephen Glass was going to be the next Dons manager.

If accurate. What a load of shit.

Rather have had Goodwin at least he has experience managing in Scotland and appears to be on the way up.

As soon as Neil became available, the board should have gone all out to get him. If we end up, within 48 hours of him getting the dunt from Preston, employing the original rumoured, unproven and inexperienced "team" (with Atlanta connections) I think a large section of the support will walk away for a period of time.

Could end up being a very damaging decision.

Alex Neill has a job lined up in England allegedly.

  11. Ah well, various outlets running with Stephen Glass being appointed.

    What a fucking surprise.

He has zero credentials for the job & wouldn’t be even mentioned but for Atlanta.

    How uninspiring an appointment.

    Cormack’s puppet in place

The reasons I stated. Every manager fails at some point, as do the majority of players. It doesn't turn them into bad managers. Rooney was excellent for us despite failing previously, and a hundred others. McInnes failed at Bristol but was successful when he came here, and will probably be successful elsewhere too. Often it just needs the right fit and a new lease of life and a player or manager will start firing again.

I think Neill will take a break for a couple of months & get a decent club in England in the summer.
He’ll still have a relatively good reputation down there, that someone the size of an Ipswich/Sunderland type of club will appoint (not them as they have new managers, but that kind of stature).

He’s not even 40 yet & in the main done well.

He’d see it as a come down to come back to Scotland so early.... maybe after another failure he might not have a choice, but he will just now.

Brace yourselves for the Cormack selling of Stephen Glass next week ?

    Anybody take Chris Wilder??

Not a chance we’d get a manager straight after being sacked from an EPL club.

He’ll get a good job at a decent Championship club with aspirations of promotion.

Yes and no. We've still got some decent players. Just another case of bad signings catching up with us. We have to look beyond the manager for those failings, our recruitment more generally has been poor and changing manager won't solve that. We've known for years that McInnes' recruitment was awful, it didn't just happen overnight, the foundations should have been laid by now for a strong recruitment team who could help. It's completely unacceptable for a club to watch someone sign miles storey and then say "we thought he was doing okay".

That said, we're probably only a couple of players away from having a first eleven that could finish third. For example, if Hornby could prove himself alongside Kamberi then we'd likely be fine with Hayes and McLennan on the wings. Sort out the striker role in the summer and we're probably okay in terms of first eleven. You then just need to clear out the fillers that haven't worked like McGeouch, Kennedy, Devlin etc. and you're probably in a place where you can supplement with two or three good players to challenge the first team and have an actual squad.

Basically, we can sort most of our issues in one window if signings are good, but two windows should allow us to replace further and there's no reason why we can't be hitting 70 points next season. That should be our aim.

    Connor McLennan?

God help us if he’s playing in the starting X1 regularly.
Doesn’t have a football brain, constantly makes the wrong decisions, runs up blind alleys, trips over the ball & runs it out of play.

Incidentally, Hayes has been poor on his return too, disappointingly.

There's a perception that it's all about the manager, but I honestly think this squad of players is mid-table quality at best. The centre backs are probably fine and I still think Ferguson and McRorie will be decent in the future given their age, but take Hedges out of it and we don't have much of anything in attacking areas that's better than teams below us.

Maybe, but it’s the manager who assembles the mid-table squad together.

McInnes has left a shit storm behind.

The greatest manager ever saying that the gap between us and the scum is unbridgeable in the times today. It's the sort of thing that the BBC should be picking up on and discussing how things can be changed to bridge that gap. They'll be discussing the best method to get scum colts into the championship instead.

If Fergie believes the gap is unbridgeable then hopefully he's reiterated this to Cormack who will keep this in mind when interviewing for a replacement, and he's devising a plan to act to reduce that gap.

Or just use it as a reason for accepting the “best of the rest trophy”.
If we were winning cups more regularly (say every 5 years) then the meek acceptance would be more tolerated.

Aye he might be using us for a bit of leverage.

Out of contract in summer, out of favour at Celtic (although they are about to change manager), needs to be playing to be in Scotland team. Talk was Brown could persuade him to join him at Aberdeen.

Griffiths to Hibs when Nisbet is sold in the summer.

I'm in favour of Glass. But then I'm also Dave Cormack.

Ach I'm willing to give him a try, especially if it brings in the England striker coach, Scott Brown & Leigh Griffiths. The other realistic options on the table don't fill me with much optimism - Stephen Robinson's name has been mentioned an uncomfortable number of times. Everyone forgetting Motherwell were shite when he left them, played 5-5-0 at Ibrox which is unforgivable, got thumped 7-1 at Ibrox too.

Not actually seen any consensus on who fans have as a favourite though.

Aye I’d rather “try” something different like Glass as opposed to Robinson.

We’d as well have kept McInnes if we appointed Robinson.

Shaun Maloney might be an interesting option too.

I think we’ll end up with Glass. Not Briwn though think he’ll get some sort of coaching job at Celtic maybe.

And where’s the Leigh Griffiths stuff coming from. Do we have any XXXXL shirts available?

Hope not as his record in India is awful (3 wins in 20) and from memory (Those in Australia and New Zealand feel free to correct) his time at Brisbane was similarly unspectacular.

A bit like Glass and his record in Atlanta then.
