Being linked with a right back from our American overlords who is currently surplus to requirements as behind the right back we loaned them as he was not good enough for us.

The first of the Atlanta rejects wends their way to Pittodrie.

“Exciting quality signings” was what was promised...

Find the criticism of Robertson interesting and unfair. Can anyone honestly say they've seen him play enough since he left us to give him a fair assessment/judgement?

I’m basing it on the fact he’s missed 60% of the last two seasons with injuries, regardless of whether he’s the new Beckenbauer or not.

I had a look on a Rotherham forum the other day, the consensus seemed to be that Robertson was their best defender when fit. Unfortunately “when fit” happens as often as it does for Mikey Devlin for us seemingly and he has a bit of a reputation for being a hypochondriac/fanny.

Which was only 40% of the time, for the last two seasons

If a big fee for Ferguson allows us to offer an enticing contract to Campbell from Motherwell, I’d be happy with that.

That ship has sailed, he’ll be off the the English Championship

  5. Selling Ferguson for £2.5m+ is sensible IMO.

My concern is we have a rookie manager rebuilding a team & squad, and is doing so with not a huge amount of knowledge of the British market, so are we relying on Russ Richardson, who’s record as Head of Recruitment is patchy at best?

Going to be an interesting next few weeks.

Fuck knows what team we’ll have on the pitch come the start of the new season.

    I'm not so sure.

    We need change badly.

Hopefully Glass sees something in Robertson.

He obviously sees something in Robertson.

    He’s trying to sign him.

    It’s just no-one else can.

At least the physio will be busy, with Robertson being signed & Devlin being re-signed.

If they are offering £2m now with 3 months of window to go fair chance they will come back in with higher offer before window shuts.

Meant to add also confirmed Hoban is not being offered a deal in the article. He proved me wrong by staying fit for most of season and although form has dipped recently I would have offered him another deal. Not convinced those we have coming in are better.

Clark Robertson is not an upgrade on Hoban or Considine.

Ross McCrorie supposedly a target for Sunderland.

Also being alleged we have rejected £2m bid from Watford for Ferguson.

Apologies for the source for both.

Anything at £2.5m or more for Ferguson should be taken.

    McCrorie fee not enough.

Fuck me, if that's your criteria for signing players nothing has changed since the Curtis Main show in the cup semi a few years back at Hampden.

With the greatest of respect, I'll pass on that being our criteria for signings

Oh and he wasn't even their best player, never mind the best on the pitch

Their best player that day was Chidi Nwakali

We havnt even finished this season yet and Glass is bringing in quality with back ups I believe.

He's pouncing on a decent player here in JET (if true) and has a very good defender and midfielder already.

More quality will come I've no doubt.

I much prefer his recruitment strategy than waiting the last minute for mediocrity like D.M. did.

You can’t get any more mediocre than Clark fucking Robertson

  11. 1 minute ago, Jute said:

That as well. His fitness records not the best either.

Well he ticks the boxes then.
Fuck me, I know it’s only speculation, but if we are to re-sign shite like Devlin & Anderson (0 goals in 10 games for Hamilton), & sign Clark Robertson & JET, we’re in for a long 21/22.

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas (JET) signing on a free transfer from Livvy.

13 league goals in 5 seasons.

Why in the name of fuck would we sign him?

Is it the Curtis Main syndrome where you sign a shite striker because he’s scored a good couple of goals against you?

  13. 4 minutes ago, RicoS321 said:

Thought there was a fee due? According to Martindale.

Why would there be a fee for an out of contract 30 year old?

Don’t trust what that junkie, weegie ned says.

PS - check his goals record - he’d be a shite signing

Where the fuck is everyone?!? Know the pubs have opened and all that but still ?

    Apathy?

Meaningless game in reality, aside from an outside chance of an extra £250k for 3rd.

    I suppose that’s potentially a player.

In a strange way Hibs v St Johnstone cup final could be bigger to us.

Hibs winning the cup (& the £3m subsequent European money) could see them distance themselves a bit from us potentially.

Apologies, I thought you were speaking about when he was with us that he was made of glass. I think it'd be a poor signing, yes. I don't think he's better than Considine and I can't help but think we're only being linked with him because he fancies coming home.

It sounds like Glass has been given McInnes & Richardson’s list of targets ?

Is Russ Richardson still Head of Recruitment?

  16. 41 minutes ago, RicoS321 said:

He was young though, he was quite tall and wasn't afraid a challenge but just too light to actually win any. It was clear he would bulk up a little and didn't have the stamina for left back.

He’s missed half the last two seasons with injuries.
That alone should set alarm bells ringing.
    Surely we can do better?

  17. 28 minutes ago, RicoS321 said:

He was both a left back and a rabid Hun when he played for us. Was clear he'd be a centre half though, had all the attributes.

Apart from physicality & being made of glass.

It was 3 years ago, I don't disagree with that but there is more context. He never had much of a chance under Mcinnes, basically I'm saying I don't think it's a bad thing he's being looked at with a fresh pair of eyes.

    He’s a horse.
    And won’t improve us.

And for that matter neither will Clark Robertson.

  19. 9 minutes ago, tlg1903 said:

When Devlin first came he looked great 2bf.  There's a player in there I would say

    That was THREE seasons ago.

He’s been injured or pish since Nov 2018.
    Waste of a wage.

If true it almost certainly means Hoban & Taylor are away. Devlin should be in front of them in the queue.
