I'm guessing we're waiting for our new recruitment guy to come in.

    That could be a while.

The deadline for applications is 10 June I think.

It could be in to July before he’s here if he’s in a job

I was thinking about mcginn last week.   I wonder if glass is thinking of using him more as a cf than a winger.  He's not as fast as he was but he still knows where the net is.

Glass played him just off a centre forward, never out wide.

    Those days are gone.

    Used sparingly, it makes sense.

I hope we are looking to bring in a first pick “no10” though, I know Jamie McGrath has been linked.

Not a bad documentary. The Aberdeen bit was predictably short but interesting to see Strachan interviewed, given the rollercoaster relationship the pair of them had. Bit of a regret from Fergie over his treatment of the players after winning the Scottish cup in 1983. But don’t watch this if you’re expecting an in depth review of his time in charge of us.

Quite a bit about Leighton when he was dropped for the FA cup final replay - that’s the most I’ve heard discussed on this from both Fergie and Archie Knox.

Great to see Fergie in good health though.

    All about viewers.

Was always going to be Man Utd dominated.

    Still a great watch.

When you think about it, the proportion of the film correlated to the time he had with us & Man Utd.

    Huns after McBurnie ???

What's going on with our signings?

I need some pre-weekend celebratory news.

I’d be celebrating the fact that the huns are going after that plastic hun spastic of a striker.

I actually think Brown will overshadow Glass. Brown isn't here to help Glass out, he's here ultimately to try and kick start a management career. Most people in that dressing room have experience of playing against Brown or with him (e.g. McGinn and Hayes) while he's been one of the most high profile players in Scotland.

Glass in comparison is a relative unknown to most of them, with a less successful playing career a longer time ago and no real managerial experience. The minute him and Brown disagree about something I think Glass will be in an extremely weak position and he'll probably need all the allies he can get.

FWIW, I think we’ll be asking for a new manager for season 22/23.

    I really hope I’m wrong.

This lad sounds about the standard of a lower Scottish Championship player.

“No squad fillers” we were told.

”Quakity, exciting signings” we were told.

    There’s two lies right there.

    *quality* ^^^

He turns 26 this year and (according to Wikipedia) his playing experience amounts to 18 games in the US 4th tier, 17 games in the US 2nd tier and a solitary substitute appearance for Atlanta first team.

    What’s beyond bargain bucket ?

EE article today confirms we have made an offer to take Atlanta reserves back up right back on loan. This is the guy who is behind Hernandez who couldn’t get a game for us.

So we get rid of Hernandez, who isn’t deemed good enough, who becomes Atlanta’s 2nd choice right back, and in return we look to loan Atlanta’s 3rd, probably 4th choice, right back?

    That’s “prawgress”.

Absolutely, the worry is that - like happened with McInnes - Glass is involved in the recruitment process, or gets a guy in that he knows rather than the club. It's completely unfair on Glass really, the club should have been ready for him when he joined. Cormack was keen to talk about succession planning on numerous occasions, but this shows a real lack of planning. The change to the director of football and head of recruitment could have happened months ago.

Aye, they just haven’t thought this through or planned it at all well.

You appoint from the top down.

    Director of Football

    Head of Recruitment

    Manager/Coach

We’ll be bringing in a Head of Recruitment when potentially after Glass makes a balls of the rebuilding of the squad.

Unless of course the “prawcess” already has a man ready to step in, and it’s a farcical charade, just as it was when we were supposed to believe Glass hadn’t been a shoe in for the managers job from the outset.

I've been saying it for years now and I'm surprised that Cormack has taken so long to act. It's something that should be controlled by the club and not the manager, so something we could have dealt with whilst McInnes was here. We were continually making errors in the transfer market with a fairly low percentage of successful conversions, and those parameters should have been set the minute Cormack came in. It would have actually helped McInnes. At the very least when the decision was made to only go for loanees in January they should have acted then.

I’d argue the Head of Recruitment is AT LEAST as important as the manager.

Both should’ve been appointed at the same time. He’ll arrive when the summer recruitment is all done, and it’s a massive turnaround in players too for a rookie manager who’s not very familiar with UK football or players in it

Have you watched him play since he left us or are you just guessing? Guessing is fine, although harsh, I just know so little about him and am keen to know more.

    No.

My main gripe is he’s another injury prone defender.

On ability he’s never got near a Scotland squad or even been mentioned, so you’d assume he’s not as “good” as Considine.

Can you explain your assessment of Robertson? What’s his strength/weaknesses? Is he fast? Smart? Many are quick to judge, have you watched him much since he left us?

Injury prone - missed 60% of the last two seasons, so he’s brittle.

We already have Devlin, a complete waste of space.

We need a good & reliable partner for Gallagher.

    Robertson is neither.

  14. 11 minutes ago, Elgindon said:

Disagree, but lets go along with it if it helps. Weve knocked back a few bids under £2m to date, hope some other club(s) joins in

Clark Robertson looks a done deal.Dont have a problem as long as he's not first choice,or weve got decent back up.Bulked up since he was last here

    If Robertson signs, the central defenders will be;

    Gallagher - hopefully good signing

Considine - past it & needs replaced

Robertson - no better than Considine

Devlin - injury prone & pish

    Not a great look

Why would you want to hold on to an obvious hun who has by his own admission downed tools?

A free transfer to Sevco is no doubt the ideal move he’s after.

He’ll have a long fucking wait then, as he has 3 years left on his contract.

I told you Ferguson was a rotten apple.

So is McRorie. Pair of hun cunts can GTF as far as I’m concerned.

And in other news, water is wet.

Was a fan of Irvine and wanted us to go for him before he went south. Not sure where he fits in if we keep McRorie and Ferguson, but I think there's a good chance we sell Ferguson this summer. Also njot sure where we see McRorie playing, defense, midfield.......

I’ve given you the solution in my post ?

Boyle is a Dons supporter as well. I'm sure he has plenty of admirers with how he's been doing the last few seasons for hibs, but would be worth making an approach.

    Sell McCrorie if there’s interest.

Sign Jackson Irvine as his replacement on a free, & use the £1m or whatever from McCrorie to offer for Boyle & a no1 centre forward.

    Highly unlikely I know

Article suggests Hearts want to offer Anderson a deal so got to assume they are wiling to pay the compensation.

Should add that this is the Record so is probably a heap of shit.

I’d be delighted if Hearts spent £200k of their budget on Bruce Anderson.

Scott Burns is better than most, in fact he’s the only decent journalist that writes for that hun rag.

Seems to be some truth to this.

Give up £250k development money to get a 30 year old striker who score 5 league goals. No thanks.

    Agree.
Trouble is, I don’t think Anderson is good enough for us, but no-one will pay the £200k-£250k compensation.
