irnbru1903 Posted yesterday at 13:32 Report Posted yesterday at 13:32 Soundbites and platitudes. I expect nothing less from our chairman. What he meant to say is that he hasn't got a clue what the fk is going on. All part of the 3 year plan. 1 Quote

Good managers are hard to find and we need to get this right, which in itself requires luck and timing. Saying something but nothing in a way, but least it’s an update. All he can say, and better than silence, you. Can’t say more when things aren’t set. dont disagree too, starting with us midseason is bit of a shit show. Starting in the summer, build a squad, a preseason is the ideal for a coach. If it’s horneland for example, can work with us on recruitment prior to formally being hired, but has a voice in squad building. Realistically, we are not in a good spot right now and hard for a manager to start right now and go forwards immediately. Shit situation, but is what it is. . 2 Quote
irnbru1903 Posted yesterday at 13:48 Report Posted yesterday at 13:48 It is all a result of poor recruitment and premature punting without any succession planning. There is no responsibility taken in that fob off. As you say it is a shit situation and it shows no sign of improving. 1 Quote

Jimmy had offered to resign twice apparently, maybe there’s more to the timing of him leaving. At the same time, our priority was not on a manager succession plan, but adding the penguin and restructuring that side of things first. Quote

Exactly. It’s either Horneland and the unforeseen circumstances are new, or we actually have nobody lined up at the moment. Quote
The.Moog Posted yesterday at 19:25 Report Posted yesterday at 19:25 It’s Horneland they want and the “unforeseen” circumstances have arisen since the Lutz “imminent” statement 10 odd days ago. Kind of what “unforeseen” means like. Its a update statement, its not particularly enlightening, beyond clarifying (for me anyway) the points in my first paragraph above. Just gotta hope our recruitment - on and off the pitch - gets 100% better starting right now… 1 Quote

Happy enough with that. 5 hours ago, Bukta Bertie said: It's Horneland but for obvious reasons he can't come out and say that. Learn to read between the lines. If Horneland had agreed to come, then they absolutely could come out and say it. He's the number one choice but nothing has been agreed or signed. That's the reality. Quote

He'd lose a lot of pay off money from St Etienne if he announces he's signed for a new club already. He'll arrive in June. Be patient. Quote

Many on here were crying out for there to be an update on the no update. He couldn't win, really. 1 Quote
THFN1983 Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago To be fair it was the club that painted themselves into this situation. A blind man could see that Jimmy was on borrowed time for months, not days or weeks but literally months and as much as Lutz didn't start until Nov there had to have been discussions in his interview for the role with regards to a potential management change and if he would be able to identify and hire in a reasonable time frame. That we are now closing in on 50 days after Jimmy's sacking and 10 days after an "imminent" announcement with regards to an appointment is in no way down to the support, a support who pay a lot of money each year to watch sub-standard football. We are sleep-walking our way to the play off positions and in Leven we have an interim manager with a horrendous league record this time, 6 games played with only 1 win and 5 losses screams out that he shouldn't be handling affairs any longer, but again we're painted into a corner whereby we have to keep him on until plan b, plan c or whoever finally fills the head coach role. Cormack's non-update was totally expected, especially after another defeat and coincidentally not long before the season ticket renewals become active. He is in full panic mode as he has, depending on which side of the fence you sit, overseen horrendous managerial appointments in the past few years and knows definitively that this really is last chance saloon for him and not being viewed as worse than Milne.
