Can’t see us going with a new two in the middle. Hope to see McKenna instead of souttar but doubt Clarke replaces both unless they are injured. up top we’re so limited in options that I don’t think it matters who starts, all have their flaws. i wonder if tierney was intentionally left out today to play in a back 3 Tuesday?? swaddon Posted November 15 Report Posted November 15 I'm just looking at the qualification tables there. Sweden are bottom of their group with one point, but could still make the World Cup Finals through the play-offs because of the Nations League. Modern fitba is a joke. Quote
RicoS321 Posted November 15 Report Posted November 15 I thought Souttar was suspended for Tuesday? Or was that just something I'd dreamed. Obviously, Clarke would still take the opportunity to play Hanley on his wrong foot. Anyway, a great result, never in doubt. Nice one Belarus. Quote
OrlandoDon Posted November 16 Report Posted November 16 (edited) Disappointed in yesterday. We showed enough to prove we are capable, but where has that been in recent games. Feel like Clarke and Scotland are where we were with Mcinnes and Aberdeen. He’s given us respectability again but we are well past our peak and he’s passed his sell by date. Late subbing lacked imagination to say the least. Problem is, the next guy isn’t guaranteed to be successful as we’ve seen with glass Goodwin Robson and jimmy. It’s flat, stale, and old, and for the most part, a pretty poor watch. Change is needed. belarus delayed the inevitable. Nothing suggests we can play a full game against a decent side these days. Hope to be proven wrong and we are going mental on Tuesday. Edited November 16 by OrlandoDon Quote
Jupiter Posted November 16 Report Posted November 16 Our rugby team had an epic cock up today, that will be the football team on Tuesday too. Quote

Jute2 Posted November 17 Report Posted November 17 Current play off pots as things stand. There is still the possibility we could drop to pot 3 if certain results go against us and mean we face an away game in first round.  Just need to win and let Denmark worry about the play offs. Quote
Slim Posted November 17 Report Posted November 17 I would say winning at home v Denmark is probably an easier prospect than winning away to any of those Pot 1 teams, except maybe Ukraine. 1 Quote
InversneckieDob Posted November 17 Report Posted November 17 So is it a Pot 3 team in the semi and winner of 1 v 4 in the final? Sweden then Italy anyone? Quote

Both Sweden and the Italians are shite just now, so wouldn't be as bad as a couple of the alternatives. Not that it matters, as I concocted a little plan to take down the Danes by sneezing into their chips. 1 Quote

tlg1903 Posted November 17 Report Posted November 17 Nerves are really setting in for this now, bet I'm absolutely no use whatsoever in work tomorrow . No idea what to expect, the Danes may well be a bit rattled after bottling it or they may be really pissed off and highly motivated. Regardless though we need to be on it from the off. It would be nice if we actually look like a team that wants to go to the WC and not the limp dicked dawdling around the park of the first 43 minutes against Greece. 1 Quote
swaddon Posted November 17 Report Posted November 17 1-1. An early goal to settle the nerves, then 80-odd minutes of trying to keep the ball until the big lad, Larsen or Laudrup or whoever plays for them now gets an equaliser in the 15th minute of stoppage time. We get pumped in the play-offs, then we can only watch on next summer as Trump hands over the World Cup trophy to England's funny looking captain Harry Kane. Quote

I would bring in McKenna for Hanley as think that gives us better shape. Would like to try and get more width in the team but not sure how we go about that with squad we have. Freezing here this morning and might need full artic gear for tonight.  In Train then pub West Pub then train  2-1 McGinn and McTominay  Win and it’s working out how I afford it and justify giving my money to a country run by a fat senile orange fascist man child. Being a massive hypocrite probably helps with second part.  1 Quote

wokinginashearerwonderland Posted November 18 Report Posted November 18 Do or die in my view tonight. This match will define the Clarke era, we will either play the match of our lives or go out with a whimper. I don't see us winning two play off ties against sides like Wales, Sweden, Ireland or the rest. I think this is the best chance. A night for experience, leave Doak on the bench and bring him on with 30 left if we need a goal. But we need to be aggressive as fuck, I'd let the players watch the first leg of our play off against Holland when McFadden scored because we scared the shite out of Holland with our approach that day albeit we got humped in the second leg. A night for quick direct fitba and get Dykes smashing the life out of their defence. I'd go: Gordon Hickey Souttar Hanley Tierney Robertson McGinn Ferguson Christie McTominay Dykes Quote
