stonefish100
1 up front in a national semi final? United can get away with 4-5-1 cos they have a dynamic midfield which gets up well to support the strikers, we don't! Last night was painful to watch. Calderwood made so many bad decisions last night that it simply cant be put down to bad luck. Levein has tatcically out smarted him again and again, and Jimmy just doesnt have the tactical nous to outsmart him.
mizer
I think there is only one person on the plant who thinks we can play

Kowalski
I think we started 4-4-2 but then attempted to play 4-5-1 counter attack after we scored, but we should have just played 4-4-2. Its the only formation an Aberdeen team know how to play.

It sounded like 442 on the radio but very quickly I realised it wasn't when I heard Mackie referred to as "out wide". Ridiculous tactics. If he touched the ball more than twice last night i'd be surprised.

mizer
Im thought we were playing 5-4-1 for a bit at the start of the game, before he reverted to 5-4-1. At no point did Miller have anyone up alongside him, or have any support near him.

Remember his pitch to Lovell when he was trying to dissuade him from signing for Leicester? You know how Levein's going to play, it'll be high balls to the big man and you'll be feeding off scraps (or something very similar). How can someone with experience "from my time in Holland" not be able to counter that most basic of tactics? I gave the benefit of the doubt after the Tannadice game, but evidently i was very wrong to do so. We obviously were set up to play like that, just as we were set up to play like that again last night.
glasgow sheep
I thought we started 442 but as we were getting fucked over due to some horrifically slack play tango decided to pack the midfield and went 451. As far as I could see this didn't change until shortly before Miller was sent off
