Just saw the highlights on Sportscene, I concur with the two previous posts!

As somebody that advocates Langfield as No.1, he was dreadful and possibly should be dropped for Celtic on that form. And if a 18 yard shot from Consi is the best we can muster - oh dear!

I fear that watching the highlights will push me over the edge of the sanity cliff so I will refrain.

I am only using the highlights to form my opinion here, but after the second goal, killie were TOYING with us, so much space, no closing down, they could have worked us all day and would have managed to find space in behind our backline any time they wanted. The lack of width in our team is utterly, utterly horrifying. Its amateurish to look at.  Whoever is playing left and right back watching the oppositiontake runs down our flanks, only bothering to come out at them when they either cut inside towards the eighteen yard box, or just as they have got the cross away.

Nothing has changed since we lost to unt away or even killie 1-0 at home. The same mistakes over and over again.  :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

How langfield ever made it as a goalie i will never know

Frightening thing is he is not the worst keeper at the club.

In my opinion he is!

Dont mind howard - stronger defence infront of him and think he would be ok - hes a better shot stopper than Langfield!

The facts and figures are on my side dude.

Also the BBC highlights for the season are pretty damning for Clangers.............For who the bell tolls

Totally agree

We appeared to play most of game with 5 in midfield and fullbacks were the only players providing any width.  Maguire and Aluko kept drifting in the pitch.  Why dont have any natural wide midfielders or full backs?

Clangers didn't get that nickname unearned. But on his day, he is a much better keeper than Howard, Nelson, Bossu etc etc.

I think the last keeper we had who was better was probably Kjaer

Is the correct, if blindingly obvious, answer.

I also agree - but this season i dont think he has had one solid game, howard has had a couple

He had some cracking saves in that game but he was caught horribly flat flooted for their first. It was an excellent goal, but when the ball is in the box a keeper should be on his toes continuously.

So did he have a solid game then?

I don't think you can claim a keeper has had a solid game if he could have done better at a goal.

I still think that Langfield's poor form has been ever since a former GK left the club....

I think you can.

It's semantics. If you have a keeper costing a(nother) goal, he is not a solid keeper. He made solid saves in the match, but saves a professional keeper at this level should make.
