I dont really get this Folly love in, I dont think hes shit - just average. McArdle, has been crap but been played out of position. Magennis - I would rather have Tommy Wright. And lets not forget the player who costs us goals week after week - Ifil.

I should have qualified my statement to this seasons signings lol. Folly does a lot of tidying up which goes unnoticed. From what i've seen and read he appears to be very composed and doesn't rush things. Thats good enough for me.

I agree about Ifil. His distribution is just awful continually putting the backiline under repeated pressure by either not picking a red shirt out with a pass or hoofing it into touch. He has cost us games.

Would agree with all of that.

Think the game will hinge on weather folly plays or not.

He has been hailed so far as a silver lining on a fairly cloudy opening to the season. Not lightning quick but doesn't get snowed under in the middle. As manc says, does a lot of work unnoticed and may have lifted some of the deep depression had we had him last season. Maybe just what we need in high pressure games.

He's by snow means a flashy player. Got a thunderous tackle on him too.

Without saying I've been lavishly praising McGhee (I haven't, there's been no reason to), I've given the guy credit for what I think he's done well, for all that's worth.

But what do the fan's opinions matter? He's a manager with a record, go check Wikipedia.

Calm down sun.

As the most negative poster on here that doesnt surprise me.

Folly has been outstanding this season! But then if you were trying to find negatives you wouldnt see that

Im thinking of naming my next bairn Hartley

After the hare in Pipkins?

Calm down sun.

Dinna rain on his parade.

Naming him after his father then?...

Folly has been awesome for us. Much of his work goes unnoticed by the average punter though.

Of what I've seen of Aberdeen this season (which hasn't been a great deal unfortunately, only been to two games thus far (and they scored four in both games)) there seems to be an improvement on last season. I feel more positive now than I did before the first game. But like I say I've not been to a great deal of games yet so I'm not really best qualified to comment.

Thats because the average punted understands fuck all about football

Folly has been excellent in both the Dons games i've seen this season.

A bit like the Emperor's New Clothes

Except that the Emperor's new clothes were seen by ALL the punters and didn't actually exist

That's because the average punter has stopped going to matches  :hammer:

I'm glad top six isn't a measure of achievement, because it doesn't look very likely at the moment.

Is avoiding relegation an achievement?

I am sure that the board did not say a year and a half ago, Ok Mark we are a top 6 team and want you to take us to the next level which is avoiding relegation

When do you think y'know, Mark will.. y'know be sacked?

That table is just an embarrassment. Bye Bye McGhee, you've been shite.

Thing is we are only 6 points off of 3rd spot. Doubt we will turn it around. I hope we can. As long as we are in touching distance there is always a chance. However if things go tits up next week we could go bottom although this does include St Mirren beating the huns in paisley.

It's sad to say but I think it's going to be nigh on impossible for him to turn it around. The hellish performances and even worse results have gone on for too long and it's just so hard to reverse that when there hasn't really been a period of matches we can point to and say "that's what we have to get back to". One or two good performances here and there, but nothing that was ever a solid base for us to work from.

I really hope I'm wrong but I just think it's too much of a tall order now for him to get it right, it's getting desperate and there's only one direction you go in when that's the case.
