Primal Scream to play Screamadelica in its entirety

To Mark the 20th anniversary of the release of their landmark album Screamadelica; Primal Scream have decided to treat their fans by performing the album live in full on November 27th at London’s Olympia.

Released in 1991; the Mercury Music Prize winning Screamadelica is regarded as one of the defining albums of the 1990s and the late Paul Cannell’s cover design has recently been selected by the Royal Mail as one of their ten classic rock stamps.

Some of the songs haven't been played live before and many haven’t seen the light of day for years so to help dust them off, they’ve expanded their lineup for the night with a gospel choir, brass section plus the one-off return of singer Denise Johnson.

Oh fuck yes!!!!

I'm so there, the greatest album of all time! :wave:

For anyone going to the Olympia gigs:

Doors 6:30pm.

Primal Scream on stage 7:30pm

Andrew Weatherall DJing after Primal Scream

Primal Scream playing a second set after Weatherall, believed to be a greatest hits set

Oooft!!

Didn't know this!

I'd have been turning up fashionably late like I did at their Homecoming gig.  Went along to that at around 9pm to find there was no queue on the door and walked in to hear Bobby announce "this is our last one, thanks for coming".

It had kicked off hours beforehand and the bar had been free all night.  *massiveheadslap*

Sounds like there's an early curfew at the Olympia.

I've never heard of the Olympia before.  Furryboots is it?

Sony confirm re-release of Screamadelica.

http://www.nme.com/news/primal-scream/53895

Primal Scream's seminal 1991 album is set to be reissued next year, freshly remastered by the band, original producer Andrew Weatherall and My Bloody Valentine's Kevin Shields.

The reissue will be out on March 7 on the 20th anniversary year of the record's original release.

A collectors' edition of the album will come with four remastered CDs and a gatefold vinyl release of the band's 'Live In LA, 1991' set. A CD of remixes by contributers including Andrew Weatherall will be included, plus a remastered version of their 'Dixie-Narco' EP.

A half-hour documentary DVD, The Making Of 'Screamadelica', will also be included, as well as a 50-page book including a contribution from Loaded's founding editor James Brown.

Just an amazing night.

Easily one of the top three gigs I've ever been to.

Was just about to PM you to see if you had a good time.

Sounded pretty good on 6Music.

Might have to get myself along to the SECC in March now.

It was a quality night.

I've bought SECC tickeets!

Any links to the live gig?
